I had always been someone who loved hiking daily, riding my bike, and staying active, but over the past year I had to give up so many things I loved because of the pain and limitations. When my doctor finally referred me to physical therapy, I honestly wasn't sure it would work. But I committed to the process -- I went three times a week for a little over two months and followed all of my home exercises -- and the results have been life-changing. I saw my doctor yesterday, and she was amazed by my improvement. I can now ride my bike for an hour, walk for over an hour, and I'm reaching my goal of 10,000 steps a day on top of my bike rides! I still remember when a five-minute walk was painful, so being able to do the things I love again feels like a miracle. I have to give a very special thank you to Kim, who answered my first phone call and immediately showed the genuine care and compassion that sets this place apart. Her customer service and kindness made such an impression. I also want to thank my amazing therapists Josh, Angie, Joe, Colleen, Rae, and everyone else who helped me along the way (I apologize if I missed anyone or misspelled a name!). The entire team at Joint Pro is truly heaven-sent. I'm emotional just thinking about the difference they made in my life. Covid lockdown in IL in 2020 blocked…read moreall local physical therapy (hereafter 'PT') options so I've driven 100+ miles round trip 1x/week for the past 6 months to Crown Point. Dr. Art is phenomenal - he quickly, accurately diagnosed underlying cause of my shoulder pain, explained it and then prescribed a relatively simple PT cure - stretching & progressive strengthening exercises. It has produced amazing results - my shoulder pain is virtually gone and as an added bonus my upper arms look great! Next my wife strained her lower back 2 mos. ago so I brought her with. Dr. Art diagnosed and remedied her back pain. But much more importantly he convinced my wife she might be able to overcome her balance issues (resulting from suffering a stroke 17 yrs ago) & possibly eliminate her reliance on a cane if she undertook a PT exercise program (again stretching & progressive strengthening exercises). In 8 weeks she's made great progress so we're very optimistic! Finally Dr. Art's been considerate & flexible re our stingy insurance provider - since they won't cover our PT sessions we pay Dr. Art directly. He charges us less than the trainer at our health club would charge while delivering exceptional results! We greatly appreciate Dr. Art's help! Even though my appointment with you was only eight days before the marathon, you were able to quickly understand the pain I was staring to experience with my longer training runs. The exercises you gave me where great - I followed them every day as you recommended. Within a couple of days, the pain and discomfort were gone. And, more importantly, it did not recur during the marathon. I'm going to add those exercises to my daily routine.

The pain continued and after cortisone injections, physical therapy and dry needling sessions I'm still in pain. I sought a 2nd opinion and the Surgeon identified was the issue is. I'm scheduled for a follow up surgery to repair what should have been done initially. I was consistently made to feel that my pain was manufactured by the PA Alyssa (who needs to practice a little empathy) and Staff and come to find out there is a confirmed issue that needs surgery. I regret choosing this practice. On a positive note the front desk Staff was pleasant, and the Nurse Brenda who was the only one who showed compassion.
