I brought in Sterling Silver flatware (total of about 3lbs), I was told that it was not pure silver and only worth $220. That's about $4.50/ounce. American Sterling in 92% silver with the rest being copper. Since the going silver price I was quoted was $23/oz ir seem I should have had closer to at least $15/oz for about $700 or so. One of the reasons I chose to come to Natalie was due to the reviews that she very fair and honest. I was bringing my silver, including rare silver coins. My experience felt more like I was with an unscrupulous dealer, who was treating me like I was a mark. Upon ringing her ring doorbell buzzer at her store I watched her look at me as I had to ring it twice for my scheduled appointment. The fee to appraise my jewelry was $75, which included her handing me a piece of paper and pen to take notes on what she was appraising. She never asked me why I came in to see her. She just went straight to looking at the value, dismantling my watches, and explaining that the market is horrible and that she couldn't sell anything right now. I brought all of my gold jewelry to see what she would appraise it for, knowing the value of it myself as I keep it insured and have to update this every few years with a full appraisal, including scrap weight and replacement value as there is a difference. Natalie explained that all of the gold jewelry was the ugliest jewelry she had ever seen, that on consignment no one could sell because no one would consider buying this, including an uncommon rolex watch, rare coins, and all my rare silver coins where only worth their scrap weight. I guess she was hoping that I would be impressed with 7k worth of scrap weight for my jewelry. I was not. I was hoping she would impart some knowledge about the silver pieces I had, but she never looked at any of the rare specific pieces, she only told me that everything I had was only worth scrap weight.
