Starting the new year, I told myself I would get out of my comfort zone and try new things…read more Instagram must have been reading my mind when I was targeted for a "Free Intro Class" to my local Pure Barre. From there, I was able to simply sign up via the add. Later, I was conveniently contacted by an automated text system that kindly reminded me of my reservations. Day of, I made it right before the start of class so, I unfortunately missed the tour of the studio. I quickly signed my waivers and jumped in right at the nick of time! The studio was small but very neat. First Impressions: A neatly arranged front entryway with branded gear and waters for sale, along with the front desk to your left. Behind the wall was their only studio. It's a pretty good size for such small parameters at the Vinings Jubilee. I'm unsure If I was the only newcomer, but everyone seemed a bit more familiar with the routine. The instructor positions herself at the front of the room facing the mirrors. Everyone else is evenly spaced at their own spot at a bar along the 4 walls, and I was in the middle at a stand alone bar. The class was moderately tough. Some parts were a bit more challenging than others, but all of that depends on your skill level. I truly believe any level individual could come and take this class and walk away with a good burn. Some areas of criticism: - I was never introduced to the instructor or welcomed to the class, but this could of been due to me being right on time. It would have been nice to have felt noticed and welcomed. - The instructor could have been more attentive during the workout in order to help make adjustment to posture/ positioning during the routine. There was a few times I felt unsure of I was doing, or if I was even doing the correct movement! As I would look around, I noticed everyone was doing some variation of what she was doing. I would prefer more instruction. While working hard time seems to move so slow! The class included the use of a small ball, 2 hand weights ( which you can change out according to your strength level), and a loop resistance band. We did some pretty cool exercises! Definitely creative stuff Post class, the receptionist and the instructor spoke with me shortly about the different classes they offer and some membership options. Although I opted not to sign up, I did get in a good workout.

If you are considering or have been considering trying Pure Barre but are too nervous to try…read moresomething new, this is the Pure Barre location for you! Every instructor is kind, approachable and super helpful. I am so thankful I have finally found a workout that I love and an environment that keeps me coming back for more. I have been an athlete my whole life and my body at 33 has never looked better than it does now. I love that I can get in and out in an hour and be done for the day. No intimidating gym equipment necessary. I cannot say enough good things about Pure Barre and the Vinings location specifically. The energy level is high and keeps you constantly motivated to do your best. Maggie and her team are the best!

A great experience for a first timer…read more Let's start with the basics, parking was easy and convenient (free too for anyone unfamiliar with the area). The young lady at the check in desk was very sweet. They have lockers positioned in the front, which is convenient for you to put your things in there. They sell water and energy drinks if needed. The studio is very clean and very well kept as well. Amanda was my instructor and what a joy she was. I was very nervous as it was my first time taking a Pilates class. Not to mention , I signed up (unbeknownst to me at the time) one of the harder classes. I thought to myself, yikes! Maybe I should come back to a beginner's level class. But Amanda was so encouraging, and informed me I could modify some movements, and she mentioned that she would position me near some folks who are pretty seasoned and would be able to help if I needed some guidance. I didn't know exactly what I was expecting, but that class kicked every ounce of my butt, but in the same breath, I will also say it's probably the best workout I have ever done. I worked parts of my body that I didn't even know existed lol! There were so many moments throughout the class that I thought to myself... Can I make it through? But Amanda was right there cheering me on and motivating me every moment of the way. This definitely exceeded my expectations for a first time Pilates experience. As difficult as the workout was for me... I made it through :) and since I was so proud that I did, I booked myself another class next week. I have to give another kudos to Amanda, I think having the right instructor when it comes to any workout class, plays a big part on your ability to push yourself through.

I had my first class on Monday & Adriana our Instructor did a great job for newbies such as myself…read more Her pre-class instructions were clear which made following her quick prompts during class easier to navigate. Over the past week, the additional classes I took had the same great & some intense Instructors with the same objective of pushing you to finish strong. One Instructor had me say a few choice words to myself after class, yet all with love & light. & only after the next day of recovery - LOL. The encouraging emails after your class simply rock...or should I say glide? I give myself a B- for showing up & returning with no shame in taking breaks during class to recalibrate my lower back/core, hence why I'm here. Agreed that the membership prices are a little steep. However, the 2 Week Unlimited offer is the right opportunity to learn a new fitness regime & boost your overall health before making any commitments. Regardless of which Instructor is at the front desk everyone is welcoming & engaging while motivating you not to walk out the door - *smile*. Very good client service across the "Sweatlana" board.

I just moved to the area and was very eager to find a new yoga studio ASAP. I signed up for the $30…read moreone week trial for the classes since it looked like the best value. I was so disappointed in this studio. It's in a great area, but the studio is only one room for everything, very cramped, and when people come in early for the next class it is disruptive during the yoga rest at the end of the practice. The class was Ok, there was a lot of dead space between moves, and it did not feel like a very good workout overall. And there were only a few moves gone over, not very cohesive. I tried calling a few times to cancel my last 3 classes that I reserved because I had to return home to New Orleans last minute for a family emergency, but there was no voice mail, the phone kept ringing. I was fine loosing the $30 since I only was able to attend one class for the week. I planned on sending an email once my flight landed back home and I was able to get settled and help my family through this difficult time, obviously sending an email to a yoga studio after several attempts at calling, was not my main priority. When I got to my computer yesterday, I had received a very snarky email from the owner advising me that she was charging me $10 for each class I missed, when I explained that I tried to call and inform that I could not attend, she very rudely replied that it is not her responsibility to cancel my classes for me. Over it, and make sure you do not save your credit card information to the site, they WILL charge you without your permission and there is no option to delete your card info once added, you can only edit or add another card. I recommend the Vita Prana Studio a little further down Atlanta road if you are new to the area.
