When I picked her up on Sept 9, I was told that she wouldn't be allowed to come back to the kennel as she "wasn't a good fit". She was extremely anxious to the point that she was shaking and had to be hand fed. Unfortunately, when I arrived back home and counted the trazadone, I saw that no extra doses had been given, just the bedtime dose. The pill bottle itself even said give extra if needed. My instructions also said "If she is still anxious, call her vet". When I called Countryside, I was told "We never call vets". The problem is, I wasn't called either and my dog was allowed to be extremely anxious when she could have been medicated. I would like to know why my dog was allowed to be so scared when Countryside had extra medication to give her and failed to let the vet or me know that she needed an increased dose. Countryside suggested I get a home caretaker. My dog won't let anyone in her house. She's be very abused prior to our rescue. I've been working with a trainer to help. I sent an email asking for review by a manager or above, but got not repose from Countryside.

I told the manager to go to Hamby Road Animal Hospital to get more food and have them call me for my credit card. No one followed through and when we got back my dog had lost two pounds because she wasn't getting enough to eat. It was very noticeable when I picked her up. Then Covid started and the lobby shut down. There were less employees too so for years now I've never seen the dogs outside like I used to. Plus our dog seemed hoarse the second to last time she was boarded there which struck us as odd. Last March 2023, I had to have surgery. We boarded our dog for only two nights. When she was picked up, not only was she hoarse again but she had to poop 3 times in a row. So we surmised she was put in her room and ignored. She would only bark if she need to go out or wanted her play and walk times I was paying for. Our dog was so well house broken that she held her poop and barked to be taken out so much she got hoarse. We decided that she would never go there again. She is dead now from cancer but the two trips we made last year before she got sick, we took her with us. We decided not to use this place anymore.

While most places are hesitant to board a German Shepherd, after Moonlight met Christine, she immediately followed her commands and have bonded with both of Christine & Kevin. They play with her and take her on walks - two of Moonlight's favorite activities. Moonlight has separation anxiety issues, but she has found a second home at Crabapple Bed & Bones. For a dog who doesn't even let other people touch her, on her most recent visit, Moonlight came home nicely shampooed and groomed. Our daughter picked up the dog but they still wanted to charge us for the entire week. Cancellation policy is 48 hours but she cited Fall School Break as a Holiday. The staff who care for your furry family member should take extremely care of your animal and observe abnormal behavior in your animal from the time they arrive. I boarded my dog here twice. Each time my husband dropped her off. The first time my husband picked her up and when she got home she was coughing, vomiting and had diarrhea. I had to take her to the emergency room. The second time, I went with him to pick her up and when we got her home she had diarrhea and couple days later she started vomiting and her stool look like it had blood in it so again we had to take her to the emergency room only this time she did not make it. My baby passed away. I call the facility and spoke with a staff member to ask about any charge in her behavior and was told that she was extremely scared and was shaking. This is a behavior change. Someone should have contacted me to say that she was not happy there and was scared for her life or shaking. I understand it take money to run a facility. Yet! The first thing the staff members should realize is that these animals are our family and if something is not right with them call the owners and let us know. If only ONE staff member would have called me, I could have gotten her out of there by having transported to the hospital and my little Bella will still be here. Please think twice before you leave your love one at this boarding facility. The staff members need more training and need to know that these animals are not just dogs, they are our family. I'm crying as I am writing this review because all it took was a phone call and my baby will still be here.

My bf has been taking his dog here for both day care and boarding for several months and the last…read moretime we traveled, we decided to board both his dog and mine at Pet Lodge. I had previously taken my dog to Wagalot, closer to where I live, and they require a "trial" of daycare before you are allowed to board them. Pet Lodge didn't require that which was convenient for me but also made me a bit apprehensive about the dog population. Both dogs stayed here from Thursday evening through Monday midday and it all seemed to go great. Everything we dropped off for them was returned to us and the employees were all very nice. We had them stay in a junior suite which is $45 for the first dog and $35 for the second. My bf booked his dog for additional play sessions but since mine is lazy I decided not to. They seemed well cared for when we picked them up. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because of the lack of technology. They have an online booking system which is convenient, but it's not super user friendly and I ended up still having to email them my dogs vaccination records although I had already uploaded them. Also, there are no cameras here. A lot of boarding/daycare businesses offer that as an option which gives pet owners peace of mind. It would have been nice to have that option but definitely not a deal breaker. We will definitely continue to board and daycare the doggos here in the future.

Please keep an eye on your fur babies and if they start coughing or have diarrhea, take them to the vet to get them checked! I picked up my 3 dogs yesterday and 2 of them have KENNEL COUGH!!! To say I'm upset is an understatement. I was in contact with the lady that runs the facility. She told me yesterday morning that my dog, Togo had a one short 2 cough spell but that it wasn't hindering him. I became concerned at that point. I know I am not a vet BUT I am a groomer and I have worked at a vets office before, so I do know some things. I picked the dogs up and the coughing got worse! Well to top things off my dog, Spirit started coughing. The owner wanted me to keep her informed, so I did let her know that Spirit started coughing. Then to top that off, I had to groom ALL 3 of my dogs when I got home. Now I know they are going to stink or be dirty when staying at a boarding facility BUT when my dog, Monty had dried dog poop all over his belly, that is unacceptable! They were absolutely filthy and smelled so bad! When this was mentioned to the owner (I have the messages,) all she had to say was, I'm sure that is from when Spirit had loose stool in the run. Um.....did you not clean the run? And why would not rinse off my dog? I'm not asking for a full blown bath but you could at least rinse him off! I also would like for y'all to know that even though I was notified about the one short 2 cough spell, when I picked up, my dogs where still in the same run. They had not be quarantined from other dogs in the same area as they were. I sure hope those who had dogs staying there were notified that their dogs had been exposed to not one but two dogs with kennel cough, as this is HIGHLY contagious. I even said that to the owner. I have all the messages. I want to also say that she seems to be so nonchalant about it. She has not even offered to pay for the vet bill and still charged me for boarding. Well with the timeline the way that is of when the coughing started, one of two things happened: 1. There was already a dog there with kennel cough and they failed to quarantine, notify incoming boarders and failed to properly clean/sanitize. 2. There HAD been a dog there with kennel cough and they failed to properly clean/sanitize. Either way my dogs are now very sick and refuse to eat and drink water and they did catch this virus at the boarding facility! Please DO NOT EVER USE THIS BOARDING FACILITY. I will be making sure to ask any future boarding facilities for their general cleaning procedures, to make sure this doesn't happen in the future. **Anyone is more than welcome to contact me and I am more than happy to send videos, pictures, etc.**
