I am very much Thankful for the Staff & Doctor Blackburn patience and services rendered to correct my previous Dental implant surgery practices, may i add, of learned knowledge as it had seem (practices that failed) received from two local service in the Fayette and Peachtree Metro Area; caveat emptor (buyer beware). As a Senior, that monitors monies spent to receive quality care and the experience can be quite A challenge, and much on-going pain. Terrible customer service !!! Receptionist was so confused I had to coach her through to find my xrays I had emailed them. Then she couldn't find my Insurance company and charged me $75 out of pocket .I was so disappointed in the service I had to walk out . Now I have to dispute the $75 with my credit card company. I even asked her not to charge me because I was not staying for the treatment . So if you go make sure you don't get ripped off . read more

I was referred to Atlanta Prosthodontics by a friend. Dr. Blackburn specializes in replacing and/or restoring teeth, but they also can perform general dentistry procedures. My teeth and gums are in great shape, so I didn't need any dentures. The hygienist was out sick on the day that I came, so Dr. Blackburn actually decided to clean my teeth himself. He could have elected to tell me to come back another day, but he respected my time and did the grunt work. Dr. Blackburn definitely makes his patients' concerns his number one priority. This is a family business. I was a patient of Dr. Blackburn III. I was referred by my periodontist about two years ago after installed my implants. Dr. Blackburn III made the appliance to attach to the implants. He made me cry because he didn't administer anything for pain. Without warning, he practically had his knee in my chest in a tug of war during the fitting process. Not to mention, it was the day before my birthday. I LIVED THROUGH THAT. About 2 months later, I returned to his office when it cracked. I was charged for the repair. NO SWEAT. About a month later, it cracked again. He said that I needed to be careful chewing. I wasn't charged, except for a lecture about chewing. I wasn't charged. About a month later it cracked again in the same place. I made an appointment and was charged over a hundred dollars. I felt more confident, maybe because I paid so much. LOL. About 2 months later, it cracked again. He stated that the appliance was unsuccessful and that side needed to be replaced. I was without bottom teeth for a week. In December I noticed decay between my teeth while flossing. He stated that I needed 2 crowns. He was nice enough to offer me a payment plan since I don't have insurance. Not that I asked or had trouble ever paying his fees. The first appointment went well. The second visit to get the permanent ceramic teeth was scary. I always ask to be put to sleep because I don't handle pain well. I was told I would be fine. No pain remedy was offered. His sweet assistant made an attempt to remove the temporaries with a vice grip looking instrument. No success. Dr. Blackburn III decided to file it off. Don't forget I didn't receive anything for pain. He has the drill and his assistant is on my left with the water and suction. Imagine the feeling of the suction on my exposed nerve. I'm complaining but they told me that I was"acting up" and to calm down. He filed the new crown after installing it. More drilling! Don't forget my nerve is exposed. In an attempt to relieve my misery, he's telling me how "pretty" the crowns are as he's installing them. His assistant hands me the mirror and I said, "It's to big". No reply from him. Moments later while still in in chair, his assistant shoves a document in my face to sign stating that I am satisfied the size and color of the crowns. He says, wait till she's done. Obviously, this was very important to him if they brought the document to the examining room instead of offering it to me afterward at the reception desk. My crowns are bigger than my teeth and a different color. Too white. I don't understand the purpose of all the impressions. These teeth are big. I look like dracula. A week later I made an appointment for a consultation because I wanted him to see what I look like. My appointment was at 9am. I was running late so I called at 8:45 to let them know I was on the way. Dr. Blackburn II answered the phone unprofessionally, but I won't get into that. I told him I would be there in 40 minutes. He said he would let them know. When I got to the toll, there was an accident. I called back to let them know I was stuck in traffic at the toll. It was 9:25. I was informed that he had left for a doctors appointment. I was furious. II I requested that he call me. The purpose of this rating is to reveal my experience. The office is clean with a very calming abionce. The staff is very help and their customer service is exceptional. The doctors are professional and are very helpful. Each treatment plan is individualized to specially fit your needs. They take their time to explain your treatment plan so that you understand. The prices are very affordable. Dr. Blackburn and his team have been a Godsend! After moving from Chicago, I struggled to find a prosthrodontics practice that provided the level of qaulity care I was used to on Michigan Avenue. After several disappointing consultations and painful procedures, a referral for the Drs. Blackburn and Atlanta Prosthrodontics changed everything. The Buckhead office is sophisticated and nicely appointed. The staff is professional and courteous, routinely anticipating my needs. There is ample parking and even access to MARTA. Most importantly, Dr. Blackburn is skilled at his craft and works within a network of excellent dental pros. I feel better than ever about my smile. I've never suffered the discomfort friends and clients have described after they've visted other prosthrodontics practices. Blackburn and Blackburn are simply the best in Atlanta. I went to Dr. Blackburn because I always felt like my teeth looked too small as well as there was minimal spacing that i wanted to also correct. My first visit to the office was nerve racking. I don't like traveling down town too much because of the traffic and parking. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the office was extremely easy to find and not far at all from the interstate. I was also very impressed that with their location, they had their own parking lot (so thankfully no parking toll or parallel parking needed). The office was beautiful. After my first visit with Dr. Blackburn III, I was anxious to get started. He gave me several different options for different ways i could achieve the look i was going for, as well as took his time making sure to answer all my questions. My overall experience was wonderful. I ended up getting 6 veneers on my top teeth that are called non-prepped veneers. Meaning he didn't have to cut down my natural teeth to place them. My biggest fear was that they would stick out but not at all. They look so natural and have really enhanced my smile. I would recommend Dr. Blackburn to anyone that is looking to do cosmetic work. read more
