He's got this crazy technique of grabbing your cheek and shaking it like hell while giving you the numbing injections - the worst part of a filling, IMO. So, that mo-jo keeps the shot from hurting. The Guy is Racist. Dr. Kim Henry, I must say he gave me a great price on a post and crown when I came in and asked about an implant. He gave me great advice and saved me a lot of money. However, in the initial consultation he said that he really didn't want to extract the tooth because it is hard to extract teeth from "big black guys." I thought to myself he is an older white guy and sometimes they have a slip of the lip. The second meeting went off without a hitch. However, the third meeting (when he placed the post and core in my mouth) I don't know why but I kept biting down he said "why does this cracker keep biting down" I believe he wanted to say another word, but I moved on. Later on, he asked me, if I use drones when I inspect roofs I told him I can, but I generally like to climb on the roofs, so I can get a better view of what's going on. Dr. Henry said, "So you climb up there like a monkey." At that point I knew he knew what he was saying. I thought to myself I am giving him my money, and this is what he thinks of me. As I was leaving I saw two other rooms with black patients in them. This is what he thinks of us while we are giving him our business. I was supposed to get some more work done by him. In fact, I already paid $368 for half of it. I am glad to walk away from that money it is a small price to pay for my self-respect. Besides, I don't want to contribute to a world where my daughter would feel as if she had to put up with crap like that. It would set a bad example. So, to all African Americans if you go do business with him this is what you can expect. This is what he thinks of you. On a side note to Dr. Henry. Aside from the racism you have not done a thing to me. I have no reason to lie on you. However, when a patient is in your chair and you are in such a proximity to the patients face; please wear the surgical mask (or dentist mask whatever you want to call it) because I could feel your spittle and hours after I left your chair I could still feel and smell your breath on my face. I know that many of your patients may have germs and you don't want them and we don't want yours. read more

Dr. Henry was great and able to fit me in with my broken crown and all the pain that I was in. Thought would have to wait a long time to get in to see about the pain from either a broken tooth or teeth but was able to see me at the time of my appointment. Able to begin treatment for the broken crown right away and rather save the tooth below the crown and try to fix it rather than have to remove and do an implant in the back molar. Had a broken tooth in the top back of my mouth. Went to Dr. Henry because of reviews and my experience was excellent. The staff in friendly,funny and inviting. And Dr. Henry is careful and patient with the work that he does. . . especially when you consider he is 62 yrs young. Price was exactly what they quoted me over the phone. I went to this office because I live across the street. I didn't even have to drive over there and it was still the biggest waste of time in my life. Dr. Henry is a self righteous jerk who will force his own views on you and if you don't accept it then he won't do the procedure. Let me start from the beginning... First I explained that my crown had cracked and he suggested that it may have been hit when my wisdom teeth were removed a little over 3 years ago. That made sense because it did start to crack a while ago, but it didn't officially break until earlier last year, and then I couldn't stand the pain. Dr. Henry said that it had probably been knocked during the wisdom teeth extraction because porcelain was so fragile. I've had this crown in for 14 years, so it's actually quite natural that it would have cracked by now... Anywho, Dr. Henry started to blame the breaking on me grinding my teeth- something I have never been accused of, and never had an issue with. He then proceeded to poke my jaw until his nail was digging into my cheek and I flinched. He said that this was an indication of more serious problems in my mouth, because people don't react like that when touched. I disagreed, because that was NOT just a touch. My face literally moved as he pushed me harder! I had no pain anywhere else, no other cavities, nothin... So he tried to force a silver or gold crown into my mouth and I refused, so he tried to make me sign a letter saying that the crown broke due to me grinding my teeth and that if it broke again I would be responsible for it. I refused to sign it, so he refused to do the procedure. I have now been to TWO other dentists and they both agree that a) I don't grind my teeth anymore than a below average grinder. If I was grinding my teeth enough to cause the crown to break the tops of my teeth would all be flat, yet mine are naturally sharp- as they should be. And 2) there was absolutely no reason for him to be poking my jaw! I have no gum issues or jaw issues, and the option with a silver filling and porcelain on top will be just perfect for me. Dr. Henry is either too old and senile to realize when he's wrong, or just to old school and stuck in his ways to try new things- he never even suggested the silver filling with porcelain on top (his lovely dental assistant did before I left, so shout out to her)! He was so rude and completely dismissive of what I KNOW is happening in my own mouth. The only good thing he did was give me my x-rays for free, even though that was more of a "throw it in her face" because he just knew he was right *insert eye roll here*. Only go here if all you need is a cleaning. *RESPONSE* YOU were the one who suggested it was knocked during my wisdom tooth extraction, ya nutter! This is how I know you don't know what you're talking about. Also, of my last 15 reviews only 3 of them had below 3 stars- including your joke of a practice. I would have gone further into the total of 39 reviews I've done, but it follows that same pattern. I rate poorly where it's deserved, but I have no problem highlighting great businesses. Yours just wasn't one. YOU PUSHED MY FACE SO HARD IT FORCED ME TO MOVE! I've now been to a 3rd dentist (I have a lot of friends who went into dentistry) and asked what reason there was to even poke me and they again said there wasn't one. If there were any issues with my jaw or gums the pain would be obvious. You tried to create problems were there weren't any, all to prove that you were right when you were sadly mistaken. Thank you for the free x-rays, but honestly it was the least you could do after running late for my appt and being a complete and utter douche bag. read more

Beware of this place!!! The receptionist she is very rude and aggressive! They don't care about your situation or concerns, only about money! They only care about taking your money even if you have insurance! I had a very bad experience talking to the doctor himself and he's very aggressive and angry just like his "receptionist"! He took the time to sit with me and talk about what was going on before we started. He took very good care of me. Wonderful! I haven't been to a dentist in 5 years, I was having significant pain from a cracked filling, and I've had several bad dental experiences. Dr Henry took my appointment, made wonderful first impressions, and got straight to the most urgent work that will relieve the pain. He can do oral surgeries and root canals in house so you don't waste time waiting on referrals to specialists. Dr. Henry was very up front and pleasant, and not afraid to explain anything I had more questions about. I came here from a terrible experience I had at another dental office. When I first called the office and explained to them what was going on, they got me in right away. Dr. Henry was great explaining what was wrong and did somethings to help alleviate the pain. He told me I would need a root canal. I, too, experienced racism as evidenced by of Dr. Henry's words and behavior. I wrote him a letter reiterating his own words and actions; telling him I found him to be rude, abrasive and condescending. No need for me to go into the details here; he knows who I am, per his written response of apology. In reading his responses to other Yelp complainants regarding his outwardly apparent and transparent racism, it floors me that he mentions his 40 years of experience and his high level of educational achievement to degrade the writer. Obviously, Dr. Henry doesn't know that common sense, persuasive courtesy, humility and knowing when to bite your tongue outweighs boastful accolades on any given day; everyday, always. We should never consider ourselves too old to learn. Some of the best life-lessons, such as how to be perceived as an upstanding, kind and brilliant being, are not taught in any school; not even at the highest level. Otherwise, your PhD would not earn you negative reviews about yourself. Good luck with, hopefully, trying to make an effort to listen, learn, retain and apply information about yourself that can be improved upon in the eyes of others, instead of arguing your point.
