The Bar from the outside.

Very nice establishment although a bit small. Great Bartenders that are knowledgeable of Craft Beer and enthusiastic to serve it. $5 a glass will get you close to whatever Beer you want although at times, they have beer that is a bit more expensive. Nice seating and a great outdoor space that will be great to utilize when the weather warms up. "A+ for overall atmosphere and staff"

Great selection of craft beer on tap -- all the serve -/ bravo!!!

Bravo for local craft beer!!! Until the last year there was no local craft beer that was served in local public establishment. Atlantic Ale House has a really great selection and everything is high quality!! As other reviewers have stated the inside portion is on the small side and thus I wonder how they will fair in the winter time. The great news is the outside is the life of Atlantic Ale. There is plenty of room and they have all kinds of games that everyone can participate in. Including Jenga with huge blocks - we were able to get it up to 5 feet befor an ear shattering end :}} There is also the local tradition corn hole. Even tho Atlantic Ale does not have a food menu there is always a great food truck outside. For foodies that love food trucks this is the perfect place to go. The food trucks are super high quality food and it is really cool to have a rotating menu -- very unique and good for the palate. I have experienced Sammies Slammers, fireinthehole and nolitruck. These are all high quality food trucks. You will never be disappointed by the choices for grub here. I wish there was a place to see the food truck schedule -- I think it would help their business as well .. there are announcements on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Atlantic-Ale-House-374910849324940/ if they remember but you can't rely on that. Here are the places you can find information on these great food trucks. Slammin Sammies - @slamminsammys1 so you can follow where they will be. I have mean sent on mobile alert so I partake often if they are in the area. I have had Big South Pimiento Cheese Sandwich- with homemade pimiento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and bacon served on grilled sourdough -- this sandwich is the bomb .. you may dream about it. Fireinthehole - http://www.facebook.com/Fire-in-the-Hole-442948272501909/ for thier Facebook .. they need to keep up their twitter since they are mobile but it has not been updated in 5 months. What I can say is that the pizza made in 90 seconds at 1000 degrees in a special oven they hitch to their mobile truck is as good and better than most traditionally baked pizza. All fresh ingredients to choose from and all pizza's are $10. When I get mine I share and it generates new fans. NoliTruck - http://www.facebook.com/Noli-425075587633794/?rf=378185665665895 is the Facebook .. again I have not found a twitter for them. The Taco's are the star here for me - even served with fries .. perfect to pair with craft beer. They also have BBQ sandwiches .. they menu is always changes but very fresh and flavorable. I just love Atlantic Ale -- so many great memories made there!!! This is a perfect place to meet friends after work. Big tables outside if you have a crowd.

The apple butter pizza, bacon, cheddar and apple butter!

First time going here... The atmosphere is great just loud enough to know you're at an ale house but quiet enough to have a conversation. Fire in the hole pizza was outside and it is some of the best pizza ever!

By far my favorite neighborhood bar. Quiet, relaxed vibe. A great place to grab a quality beer after a long day of work.

Lads, this gaff absolutely slaps…read more Not jokin'--we're talkin' top-tier stuff here. Picture it: miserable Saturday, wind goin' sideways, whole day lookin' like it needs a good talkin' to. Me and the missus gets blown into this pub like two gobshites lookin' a shelter and a feed. And ... what a shout! I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, and I swear on me Ma's good china, it was filthy good. Fork went through it like it owed me money. Juicy, melty, little ribbons of fat runnin' through it like it was showin' off. The cabbage? Deadly. The mash? Lads... the mash tasted like an angel got notions and said "ah go on, I'll make this one myself." Bit of garlic, bit of peel, bit of magic. I nearly cried. We're not from Johnson City, so it might be a hot minute before we're back, but believe me--if I'm anywhere within sniffin' distance of this town again, I'll be leggin' it back to this place like a man late for mass. Ciaran, our server, was sound as a pound--quick, chatty, callin' us "friends" like he was adoptin' us. Man deserves a raise and a parade. The place is set up for tunes later on, loads of seats, loos clean enough to perform surgery in--madness. Prices? Couldn't argue with 'em even if I wanted to. The missus got fish and chips for eighteen quid, mine was twenty-one. Soft drinks only two quid, and a rake of beers and cocktails if you're feelin' spicy. Absolutely recommend this spot to slake the thirst and sate the hunger--ah now, that's the kind of night that'd put manners on ya.

Tipton Street Pub was a fun stop during our night out in downtown Johnson City. By day it feels…read morelike a pretty typical neighborhood pub, with booth seating on one side and the bar on the other. As the evening goes on, though, the music gets much louder and the atmosphere shifts into more of a nightlife vibe. It felt like a mix between a local pub and a late-night hangout, with people enjoying drinks and making the most of the evening. Definitely added a bit of character to Johnson City's downtown scene.

When did it become a crime to be a foreigner & why would anyone want to walk around with their passport just to visit a college bar ? It was an extremely tacky and disappointing experience especially since I loved tiptons when I was a college student at ETSU. I will not fight to spend my hard earned money anywhere therefore I will not be visiting a bar that discriminates against my nationality and identification. Very unwelcoming and disheartening... so much for supporting local businesses. I am a world traveler and have NEVER being denied entry anywhere else in the world. Pathetic.

Naturally I bought a ticket weeks in advance and got out my "Janet" costume. Rocky Horror is my not so secret secret love and I've been to dozens and dozens of performances throughout the southeast and in the UK. A girlfriend joined me and we met up at Capone's. The bar itself was really beautiful. A wall of booths lined the left and the substantial bar was parallel. The bouncers checked us in online and we got our wristbands with no issue. Drinks were up first and as I had a 30 minute drive back to Kingsport, I limited myself to one, but it was really good! Top shelf gin and soda with extra lime (to cover up the gin flavor - haha!) We moved beyond the bar into the second lower level space which was a mini/performance venue. The kind I frequented in high school and college (before kids, really...) and we staked out a place at the front so we could see the whole thing. Partially because I freaking love Rocky Horror and partially because my girlfriend is super petite and wouldn't be able to see over anyone's head if we didn't. I was delighted that there was an opening band. Having no idea what to expect I thought it was a bonus. However the bigger surprise was that the opening band was part of the Rocky cast! It ended up being a fantastic musical rendering of the movie and musicals I have seen before, complete with costumes and a word for word script recitation along with all musical numbers. We were blown away. I wish I could have gone back again for a chill evening at the bar, but I give it my full approval. The drinks were good, the aesthetic is really sumptuous and pretty, the restrooms were clean and the show was super fun!!! I'll make it back next time I'm in Kingsport or JC.
