So I stumbled upon this place, its cute and conveniently located with great parking. I went in for coffee and decided to try a bagel. I do have a favorite bagel and they had it so I was obligated to try. The cafe was a good size with lots of cafe tables. It only gets 4 stars because they are cash only, I'm also not sure if they have wifi?? I recommend if you're in the area, you should eat here! FYI my coffee was delicious! read more

Great bagels but lousy service. I have been a fairly good customer over the past 10-12 years, and after another scowl from the owner today I've had it with Atlantic Bagel. I watched him great his recognized regulars in a friendly manner, but he barely acknowledged me, with neither a "hello" or "thank you" as I paid for my $11.40 order. It is really hard now a days to find a neighboord gathering place where they know your name, your kids names etc. Ellen, Ed and crew are amazing! I go in here on my way to the boat in the early am or on the weekends, and it is always filled with every age of person, and the staff knows everyone! The bagels and coffee are great, the only downside is that sometimes I crave some fruit and would love if they had fruit cups in the fridge, because as much as I would love to go everyday, my waistline cannot! There is nothing better than their soupd on a snowy day to warm you up, and I know a lot of people who love their sandwiches. It is a no frills place with amazing service, a very hopper esque painting type of place with dogs and their owners reading the paper out front, highschoolers standing in line etc. I simply cannot imagine hingham with out it! read more

Loooove AB! I have gone here since I was a little kid and they're always open early. Amazing ice coffee and they don't advertise it, but they are free refills. Ask for extra cinnamon sugar on your bagel with butter. Or get the rosemary and olive oil bagel. They have great lunch sandwiches, too. read more

Oh Atlantic Bagel, how you mystify me. It is truly a wonder that they have managed to remain open in this location for as long as they have. They have had so many obstacles in the way of their success that it is actually quite impressive. Obstacles like ridiculously over priced products, Rude with a capital "R" service, and a quality of bagels one would expect to be equivalent to the quality of bread the Pilgrims ate on the Mayflower after about 10 weeks into the voyage. Yet in the face of all of this, they remain. They are true survivors in the jungle of small business. I know that this review is exactly the type of angry yelp review that drives local business owners insane and Yelp has been trying to distance itself from ever since that episode of South Park, but I am so sick of walking in there and being treated with distain by the owner and the more permanent staff. It makes it really hard to enjoy my breakfast, and honestly bums me out. So consider this more a cry for help than a complaint. Please, someone, come open a better bagel business in Hingham. read more

Best bagel I have found in a long time. They're served warm and there's a huge variety. I always get a pumpernickel toasted with light veggie and my husband gets the pumpernickel with cream cheese & lox. The place is always packed with high schoolers and families but the line moves fast. The weekend staff consists of a crack team of bagel makers that look as though they've been up since 4 am but they get the job done. read more

Massachusetts is wasteland for bagels....it is super difficult to find a decent bagel. They don't know a good bagel here, but I tell you as a bagel geek that Atlantic has great bagels! They remind me of my homeland of NJ/NY where there are great bagels. They even have real pumpernickel....not a light brown looking rye but dark, like it should be! Great bagels for your dollar. One dozen for $10! You can tell that they make them the old school way. Crispy outside with nice chewy inside. Not like the bread tasting fake bagels at DD and the grocery stores. Excellent choices from plain to everything bagels but I suggest the pumpernickel bagel, it's one of the best I've ever had! This place is a gem. I would have given it 5 stars but the counter help are not very friendly and the guy ringing up the orders ( I'm assuming is the owner) is equally unfriendly. Unfortunately, I find this cafe is overhyped. I've visited multiple times and each experience the same. The service is very strange- I get it, it can get hot and busy and stressful working in food service, but I truly don't understand the frowns and general passiveness I receive from every employee each time I pop in.. The bagel sandwiches are pretty basic but they get the job done- but PLEASE use real cheese and rid your store of that nacho cheese! The iced coffee is water. Last visit I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and there was a hunk of random meat in it. Really gross. Bleh. Sorry guys. The bagels are fantastic. There are a ton of different kinds of cream cheeses you can get for them. The only reason this place got three stars is because the staff is a bit all over the place. They screwed up coffee orders twice in two minutes (including mine). Regular coffee apparently means Hazelnut. Anyway, play it safe and go in the to get some bagel goodness! read more

Summary: If your from NY (or even Long-guy-land) and haven't found a real bagel place near Boston, look no further. More: Hingham bagels must have something right with their water. Their bagels are as close to a hot fresh dozen that you can get in Bellmore or Massapequa (both on "the Island"). The prices for a bagel with cream cheese are a little steep, but stick to takeout bagels and it's pretty reasonable. The coffee is good and strong. The staff (high school kid powered on the weekends just the owners / managers during the week) are generally friendly. Things can get backed up on weekend mornings, but the line is never more than 5 minutes or so. read more

When the line is out the door perhaps the service is not like sit down fine dining but I am happy to wait for the best bagels on the South Shore. So great to have a place where HS students can learn what hard work is. And maybe the lines are long but they want you to be happy with your food. They screwed up my order one morning. To fix it they corrected the mistake and gave me the other dozen bagels that they had sliced (I wanted un-sliced). Even close to the city, Hingham Centre has that small town, community vibe and Atlantic Bagel is no exception. Cash only, fresh and delicious bagels. Customer service is utilitarian- lots of employees working in a small space and pumping food out. You're not going to get inundated with pleasantries, but they're nice enough. If you're a fan of bagel+cream cheese+ sprouts, you came to the right place- YUM. Only downside is that it is cash only and I never carry cash. Sometimes you can sneak into the bank next door, but it's not open on weekends so make sure to have cash before you're there. read more

I go for the sausage egg and cheese on their rosemary bagels, (which I see other people love as well,) and are great at any hour.
