I just made a Yelp account to complain about another place and thought, wow I haven't made one to say nice things about places I really like so I'm going to start doing that. Atlantic Bagel is a great place with helpful and friendly staff and a chicken salad bagel sandwich that is bar none the best I've ever had. Sad to say this HIngham institution that many of us grew up with has fallen on hard times. Expensive, coffee is undrinkable, bagels bland, service is scuzzy and rude, and it's just become a real mess. If I'd gotten sick, I would have not been surprised and only blamed myself. This place is amazing! Best bagels I have found in Mass by far. Excellent service and the food is always on point. Cash only but it's worth it. The coffee is delicious as well and the cream cheese is always fresh with lots of variety. Their sandwiches are to die for--I love a BLT with scallion cream cheese on and everything bagel as well as their roast beef sandwich on a bagel. Very cute atmosphere, small town feel. I was craving a bagel and this place hit the spot. I got the asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese and a slice of tomato. Very tasty! I liked that the bagel was light and crispy and didn't feel like I just ate a pound of bread. My husband had the onion bagel with olive cream cheese and he really liked it as well. He even gave the, "this is a good place to get a quick breakfast back to the house if we have guests" approval. We'll be back. read more

I love the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast on a rosemary bagel. Yum yum! The egg is ACTUALLY good tasting, unlike that crap you get at places like Dunkin' Donuts. Overall, the bagels are just delicious. The only thing that is strange to me, and I don't even know if it's true anymore, but the cost for a dozen bagels is actually more than the price for 12 individual bagels. ??? Best bagels on the South Shore. The Jalapeño cream cheese is unreal! Buy a tub full bc its never enough if they shipped to California I would be in heaven. Stopped in and ordered a Rosemary Bagel w/Lox cream cheese, I should've asked for cream cheese & lox b/c their lox cream cheese was dissapointing. It hardly had any lox in it, was heavily spiced and had scallions in it. I'm going to have to chew a lot of gum to get rid of this taste in my mouth. read more

I am picky about bagels, and I love their bagels! Even better, the people who run it and work there are so wonderful. Great example of how a warm-hearted small town shop should be. My whole family loves Atlantic Bagel. In fact, kids are insisting upon a Saturday morning bike ride to Atlantic Bagel for breakfast. As in, right now! So off we go. :) read more

Food is great, but owners just aren't friendly. I'm not a total regular, but I am there frequently, and I barely get a thank you.

I honestly don't know why this place has gotten such high reviews. I tried Atlantic out, ordering a coffee and a much talked about sausage, egg and cheese on a rosemary bagel. The girl I got didn't even crack a smile and I felt as though I was inconveniencing her. I did notice another worker who was friendly though. I was then disappointed to see her put the sandwich in the microwave. When I received the sandwich, I opened it up to find it soggy as though the ingredients had been frozen and then thawed in the microwave. I find this weird since they have a kitchen and could easily cook it right there (I understand it gets busy, but I was the only one ordering when I was there). I also couldn't pin point what cheese they use- it tasted like the dipping cheese in those little snack packs I would bring to school as a kid. The final straw though was they didn't even toast the bagel- nor did they ever offer it as an option. I've honestly had better breakfast sandwiches at Dunkin Donuts. read more
