Didn't have a good time here. We came in at the end of summer and the air conditioning in the room they put us in wasn't even on yet. Just parking outside was really awful because the guy cleaning decided to tell us where we should park since we had a family van. Then he proceeded to stare us down till we went inside. When we were inside, the people that come all the time were served first and when we finally got served our drinks, the dish for the creamer had jam on it. From where? Who knows. The food was okay. Each breakfast set came with coffee and juice so we didn't have to choose between that. I felt like our waitress was much friendlier to the table in the back than to us. Sure, maybe they frequent this joint more than us, but it doesn't mean we deserve any less. Based on the other Yelp reviews for this Diner it looks like there's a lot to work on as far as providing better service to customers. read more

Attending a function for about 50+ people that started at 8, first off we didn't get soup until 2 hours later, the salad came out 20 minutes after, this was ridiculous. For an establishment to promote private rooms and have this type of service was terrible. Finally the entrees arrive and i must say the food was tasty even though it took forever. Yea the burgers they forced you to eat in public school as children is what's being served here. The breakfast food literally turned my morning upside down. I had a meeting and I was starving so I had to force myself to eat 25% of this horrible meal. That was all I could stomach. I was seriously offended. Why would you guys serve this food? Why not just shut down? Whoever is responsible for this place is a menace to the public and should be held accountable. There is LITERALLY no reason to dine here. The hits just kept on coming with the professional service of waitress extrodinare, Gina, a who kept a watchful eye up in my beverages levels and remained attentive to the last. When asked if I'd want home fries or hash browns, I waved a unaccusatory and dismissive finger. Thinking only of what is typically offered, the choice of hash browns did not immediately register, then it did. Placing my finger swiftly aside, I ordered the browns of potato and am sure glad I did. Went for a late night bite. Diner in my neighborhood was closed and we dashed to Atlantic Diner. My grilled American cheese on whole wheat was cooked to perfection. The bread slices were thicker than you're average slice of bread. An order of French Fries cooked nice and golden with the right amount of crisp - just they way I like 'em. Side of brown gravy - maybe the best brown gravy I've ever had at a diner and not at all salty. My friend had eggs over easy, bacon, sausage and home fries all of which he devoured! It was his first time there and he was pleasantly surprised by the food. Service was timely and courteous. Not many times you go in somewhere and meet someone who changes the course of your day but thats exactly what happened. I have been to Atlantic diner a bunch of times for many years I have dined here and I love a good grease spoon after late night out or a good breakfast on the weekend with your family. over the years the place has been renovated and is now part of a fairly new small shops plaza, and surely prices went up on food cost but can be fair but that doesn't take away the goodness that comes out the kitchen and along with fast friendly service. you can get anything from bacon and eggs with toast to a cheese burger deluxe with French fries to a grilled cheese to a turkey club sandwich etc.. you name it. after hours are the best times to come here after a late night out nothing beats a good meal that can hit the spot. occasionally on late nights I usually order a bacon & tomato grilled cheese with a side order of fries that right there can put you to sleep good through the night, or on weekends either Saturday or Sunday nothing beats a good western omelet and side of well done home fries with white toast. The restaurant lost 2 stars today because of the cashier. She was an older woman who did not acknowledge my daughter's nor my presence. I met was friend here for a lunch after our original spot was closed. The decor was a little old school but not run down looking. We sat a booth near the window. The staff were real friendly and accommodating. Our server helped us with the shade by our seats to minimize the sun with no issues. I ordered the chicken quesadilla with fries and my friend had the chicken and waffles. My meal was good and fulfilling. My friend raved about hers so you know I had to do a little taste. She was right, the waffle was yummy and light. The chicken was moist and nicely seasoned. She couldn't eat all of her chicken so I put her extra in my go to bag, lol. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience here. The prices were fair and the customer service was great. There is limited parking outside shared with some other stores in the mini complex. Not a bad spot to frequent. I haven't had anything from here that was amazing but I haven't had anything here that I thought was bad either. Good solid place to sit down and have a meal. Burgers are on the dry side. I enjoy the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Waitstaff is friendly for the most part but at times you can get someone who is "just doing their job". Had takeout from Atlantic. Fine salad. Outstanding Manhattan clam chowder. Roasted half chicken with stuffing was excellent as was the broiled flounder. Corn was fine. Baked potato was ok. Carrots and peas were good. Mashed potatoes were awful! Chocolate layer cake which tasted like a chocolate cake with spices was fantastic! Surprisingly empty this evening with only two tables occupied for outdoor dining in the parking lot. Didn't see Paula, my favorite waitress this evening. Honestly I've been going to this place for a while now but last night I was so disappointed in the way we were treated. First a waitress came and I was super nice to her she took our order until me and my sister tried to pronounce a word and she started laughing and proceeded to say " it's funny how you people say it" anyway I was willing to overlook that because I realized maybe she didn't mean it in a rude way btw we are indo Guyanese people. We waited approx 40 mins with no food or drinks and when we went to ask they sent out the food with an old man and still nothing to drink. She came back out an hour later and brought another plate and at that point we're all pissed she proceed to say she's not serving us anymore. We asked her so why were we not informed and who's serving us we got no answer. That waitress started arguing with us and people around us started looking it was rude and embarrassing. We usually always tip our waitresses or waiter good Everytime. She assed out. We still paid for everything although we got no drinks which wasn't an issue but she stood there looking at us and laughing at us. Such rudeness and worst attitude she doesn't belong there. We were told that we would have a 20 min wait for a table by a server, however multiple groups of people were given tables and seats who came after us and then when we ask when we would be seated, we were then told by the same server that "I cannot tell you you are going to have to wait longer". Atlantic Diner, I came here 2 Xs, in the early morning hours after work with some co workers, within the last 5 years , it's a 24 hour Diner the support staff are great very friendly waitresses. I only order the breakfast, The sausage egg with home fries, it came with white toasted bread, not bad for $11.00 A bit over price, unlike other diners this one is not your average keep it within the budget restaurant, nothing has changed except the prices, it's like your unable to really try something different because of the over price Items, so on the menu pics...looks good, but thats as far as it goes, you can go for broke. This diner is located on Atlantic Ave near 111 St the nearest Train would be the J train on Jamaica Ave about 2 city blocks, to bad the prices are a bit over the regular working class look at the menu you decide. read more

When I advised the waitress that I ordered the chicken she almost got an attitude and told me I said shrimp when hubby and I both know I said chicken. ABRAHAM, where are you? One of the best reasons I frequented this establishment was because of Abraham! He was so witty, charismatic, and always had a smile! (Yes - Even with his mask on!). He always had a joke on desk and was great at fixing any issues that arose and did a remarkable job keeping it all together. I'm a LONG time patron and Abraham was seriously the best. Ordered the fried clams dinner for takeout and when there was a problem with the price, the owner comes out with glasses with the tape in the middle of the eyeglasses. With the high prices that comes with the food, you would think he could afford better eyeglasses. Then I find out they charge extra for take out when you are picking it up right there, who does that? Only places that try to grab every penny they can get and they don't tell you that they charging extra. They show the extra charge on the last page on the menu.
