My daughter and I went to Atlantic diner for the first time and we were pretty excited to ordered a banana split. We were asked if we wanted the works on the ice cream which consisted of chocolate syrup, walnuts, whipped cream, sprinkles, cherries and bananas. Unfortunately, we got nothing but vanilla ice cream a few walnuts, a couple of slices of banana and whipped cream. We were disappointed and only ate less than half. Service was awful. Absolutely distasteful. Our server Mary was not intent on giving patience, not speaking up and thus getting irritated when WE couldn't hear HER, the menu apparently is not written correctly if I can order a hot chocolate but you can only get one size unless it's takeout-WHICH IT DOESN'T SPECIFY, made a comment on the food we were ordering in comparison to our group, never checked on us, ignored me the first time I tried to let her know we needed the bill so I needed to try again-EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS LOOKING DIRECTLY AT US, and lastly I had to go up to pay the bill when usually someone comes to handle the transaction. I ordered an open faced turkey sandwich. It was like a cephalopod. So gross. Forget about booze at 6am too. They won't give you that.

What an adventure in disappointment. Been coming to this diner over 40 years. The ambiance is fine. Brought grandma and daughter for dinner. Gramma ordered omelette with hash browns. It came with two over-fried dollar store frozen hash browns. My gyro platter came with over-fried onion rings and the gyro lamb was hard enough to eat as jerky. But over 40 years, you can't expect perfection every time. However.. When I bought this to the attention of the waiter, his response was " I only serve the food. " He said he'd bring the manager who never came. No offer to take anything off the $82 bill. I paid at the counter and said I wouldn't pay to for service and food. Cashier turned away completely indifferent. I used to take clients and public officials to eat here. NEVER AGAIN!!! The service was good. We had to stop other servers a few times, and the staff seemed like they were okay with it. I'm sure they're used to it. It was nonstop crowded and also a Sunday so I don't know if that made a difference. The seating was tight and the diner looks to hold about 50 people in the front dining area where I sat. THE MANGER IS RACIST!!!! I ordered shrimp and scallop scampi. I had one bite of the scallop and it was spoiled. I then proceeded to smell it and it smelled like ammonia. I decided to go to the manager and speak to him very respectfully. He went and got the food then ate it and said there's nothing wrong with it. I gave this place 3 starts for being able to accommodate a large group on short notice. We all gathered here after a funeral to eat and catchup. The service was all over the place. When we first got there they seemed to be very attentive but as time went on they slowly began to fade and become nonexistent. I ordered the chicken parmigiana panini which had very little resemblance to a panini. The bread was hero bread with thin strips of chicken cutlet that couldn't accommodate the excessive amount of hero bread, with mozzarella cheese. The marinara sauce has absorbed into the bread and therefore made the "panini" super dry. I had to ask for a side of marinara to help with the dryness. When a place has pages upon pages of menu items, it's probably not going to be a good experience. Or maybe that's just my experience. Call the dish what it really is but don't slap chicken on hero bread, throw it under a panini press that can't fit the amount of bread and then call it a panini. Lastly, the prices are RIDICULOUSLY unreasonable. I seen an egg salad sandwich with bacon for $14.95. I'm one and done with this spot. read more

I've probably been here three times in my lifetime and the food was always average for your typical diner. Most recently, I got a philly cheese steak with fries and a brownie sundae on UberEATS. For one, the cheese steak came on a roll instead of a hero which did surprise me but it wasn't the end of the world. The cheese steak itself was very average at best though, as it didn't taste much like a cheesesteak. In fact, the sandwich really didn't taste like much at all if I'm being honest. It was basically a roast beef sandwich with cheese and onions which I actually wouldn't have minded too much if it had more taste. The fries that came with it were pretty good though. Arrived to have breakfast, at 6am coming from a party. So already tired and hungry. Was seated right away. Perfect. But the wait for a waiter was long, after he came his English wasn't all to well. He brought us our coffee, which didn't taste like coffee, it was very watery. We placed our orders which also took a little longer. Excited to eat the food. The home fries was tasteless, needed salt, the eggs wasn't cooked how I asked it to be made. The omelette that our friend order came with a special " a hair " which was totally disgusting to see, we then called upon to speak to the manager whom at the time was very nasty to us. When I complained, the owner comes out with glasses on with the tape in the middle of his glasses. Is he really that cheap that he can't afford a decent pair of glasses? The menu is a joke, who has a menu with several pages and on the back page it shows that they charge extra for takeout (because they're so cheap they feel that it's extra money for them). What about if you were to sit down and eat, do you charge extra for the dishes you eat on? It's better if you eat at another restaurant like Friendly's or Texas Roadhouse where the food is cheaper and they don't charge you extra for takeout. read more

Let's start off by stating that our waitress did not deserve an 18% service charge, the busser deserved it and should 100% go to him. Patrons beware and review your receipt before tipping, it is already included whether or not your service was disappointing. Our waitress brought out one of our orders, the "Bagel All The Way" which included cream cheese, so we had to ask for that which was fine. It's one thing forgetting an item, especially if you're servicing multiple tables, it's another when you're stepping halfway out of the door to take a pull from your vape which she did repeatedly. It's also another thing when your busser is more attentive and checks up on your table more times than she did combined. They may have a system at this diner, but when we asked her from across the room for refills, the busser brought them over while she just stood against the counter. If as a business you decide to charge off the bat a service charge, at least see to it that your servers actually deserve it. read more

Recently celebrated my fathers birthday here and we had such an amazing time. My family has been attending this diner for the past idk 20 years, and it always feels like home. It's big, so there's always good seating available. It's clean, and the staff is super friendly. Once you go in you'll notice it's very colorful and well kept. The hostess is right once you enter so you're immediately greeted. Once your seated you get your menus and it's all uphill from there. We ordered my dad the t one steak topped with a mushroom cap, a baked potato and a corona. My wife and I ordered strawberry margaritas ( which are delicious) along side their spinach dip and chips. I LOVE their dip. My sister and niece ordered chicken tenders and fries and had enough to split amongst the two of them. This place reminds me of why I love diners so much. They become your family. The waiters learned about us, asked what our native language was and made sure to make us feel right at home. In New York City on business, after arriving in JFK around lunchtime we opted for a diner for lunch. I grew up in New Jersey and diners were an integral part of my upbringing and formative years. Breakfast with your parents, late night meals after a night at the nightclubs, diners seemed to be a part of some great memories. This diner has the classic look and feel of a diner. Service was casual and friendly. Probably my most frequently ordered food at a diner was the Pizza Burger Deluxe, a burger topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese served with french fries, coleslaw, and possibly a few onion rings. So, my roadmap of memories demanded I get this personally iconic meal. Along with it, I also ordered an Atlantic chowder, a Manhattan clam chowder that the diner felt it was important to make their namesake soup. The soup was pretty good and served with sliced bread I stead of the standard bag of oyster crackers, truly a nice touch and gave you a feeling of indulgence. While I prefer the creamy New England style clam chowder, the tomato based broth of the Manhattan style clam chowder is a nice alternative and, as a side note, was my father's favorite way of having clam chowder (another memory connection). The Pizza Burger Deluxe was also good. It captured my memories of late nights and youth, of innocent childhood, and made me also realize what made me love this style of burger in the first place. Tomato sauce and mozzarella perfectly compliment a burger. One of my dining companions had t but e turkey club and it looked pretty amazing, as well. If you find yourself in this neighborhood, this is a good choice for a meal. I recommend a visit. read more

Seating and service were prompt and professional. The menu spans the gamut in typical diner fashion. One of the views looks across Queens Boulevard. As the people of Queens parade by in pursuit of work, pleasure and the mundane tasks of life, I realize how much they are a Cross section of the world. Hundreds of languages, races, nationalities, cultures and subcultures.... crammed together in the small space that is New York City; rubbing shoulders throughout the day, everyday - and living in peace. No need for government mandated equity and inclusion. The people of Queens have been doing that successfully, naturally and peaceably for 100 years.... Top-down intrusion in the name of inclusion never works anyway. My cheese omelet arrives and is good but not fantastic. But truth be told: I didn't pay for fantastic. A large 4 egg cheese omelette Was only $12.95. So who's complaining? After thinking about it, My third time here I asked the chef if he could cook the eggs in butter for me instead of oil. And good sport that he is, he did. And it made all the difference much tastier. Thanks Eddie!! The cheesecake is amazing. The slice is beefy in size and creamy in taste. Today is 10/12/23 and I went to Atlantic diner with my work colleague, who actually recommended it. I never in my life witnessed someone so prejudice. We ordered 2 salads a tea and a water when it came to the end of us dining , Waldo picked our tip up and only picked a dollar up out of our our whole tip. He started screaming this is what you left me. Waldo didn't even bother to look at the credit card receipt to see that his tip could be on there. Waldo decided to embarrass two women. I am embarrassed to say I feel this was racially profiled because my colleague was Muslim . We did not deserve this. Horrible experience . I would give negative stars but I'm forced to put 1. Came here about 2am on a Monday morning. A lot of diners have not been open 24 hours since the pandemic so I was happy to find this one. I ordered chicken wings, some eggs with home fries and toast. The chicken wings were breaded and not spicy which I loved and the eggs and home fries were excellent. My boyfriend had eggs, fries, and pancakes. The proportions were huge and we enjoyed everything. Angela was our server and she was very pleasant and accommodating. The other staff members also worked well together refilling our waters and clearing our empty plates. I haven't been in the Atlantic Diner in about 2 years. I was in Richmond Hill today and went in. First thing I noticed was that p, it was Saturday evening and maybe 5 Tables were occupied. That should have been my first clue. I ordered pancake.They weren't the fluffy pancakes I remember. They were thick and dry and came with 2 plastic packages of syrup. My coffee mug was only 3/4 full and I am still waiting for the refill I requested. When I asked the cashier for change of a $10 bill, she was clueless what I wanted. They're more interested in their conversations behind the register than serving customers, apparently whatever they're talking about and whats on their phone screen is more important than the clientele and doing their job. You have to get up and go get their attention. Once you order is placed, you then have to hope they actually prepare it properly the way you asked. In the very likely event that they get your order wrong, prepare for another extended wait. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, unless you like being annoyed. I came here for the first time on a Saturday morning at 10am. There is a free valet parking lot and limited street parking. There were many people here but I did not have to wait for a table. Our waitress was very bubbly, helpful, and quick to serve. She took our order then directly stated that the food would be ready in 10/12 minutes. I was eager to see if the food would be ready so quickly and to see if her estimate would be correct. The food did come as quickly as she stated. The food was food but the home fries were very very bland. Prices are okay although slightly high for diner breakfast. Also they give a free juice with the breakfast specials and it's very tiny and looks more like a shot. Food was overall pretty good and overall quick and easy experience. This place was very busy and it was packed. It is a good size diner with a back room and a counter where when you come in, you can view the desserts. Decent diner fare and nothing extraordinary. We had a nice table setup in a more quiet corner. Our waitress was nice but we were a group of six and they told us we could not have separate checks because it was too busy. I had the eggs Benedict. I loved the poached egg, English muffin was a bit tough and hollandaise sauce sat on top like a glob on the side were home fries.
