Where to begin... My girlfriend and I have tried this place a couple of times but after this latest experience it will definitely be our last. We went to the diner at about 1:30 pm so it was not packed at all. They sat us right next to the bathroom and then we proceeded to wait for 20 minutes until our waitress finally noticed that we were there. The hostess was busy sitting down in the restaurant eating with the "owner" My girlfriend ordered the triple decker turkey club. I ordered the mexi wrap. The turkey club was not the best but it was edible. Keep in mind I love food and this was the first meal of my day. I received my sloppy wrap and struggled through eating the first half. It was dripping everywhere and it wouldn't even close? I gave up on it and told the waitress I couldn't even eat the second half. Expecting it to be removed from the bill, especially since any sane human being that saw how disgusting it looked I was surprised it was still on the bill. I went up to the counter to pay and asked for the wrap to be removed and she went to ask this pompous "owner". He obviously knew there was going to be an issue because he told me he still had the other half out back if I wanted to take it with me. I told him I couldn't eat it and it was awful. He replied with "the waitress asked how things were and you didn't say anything." Our waitress did ask how things were but before either one of us could blink she responded to her own question with "good, great" and ran away haha my girlfriend and I actually laughed because it was so weird. This so called "owner" made a huge scene and ended up taking half the sandwich off the bill which was still unsatisfactory in my book. I have worked every position in a restaurant and would never treat a customer the way he did. This place will not last. read more

Don't get the brisket! It's cut up roast beef strips....an insult to a guy whose eaten real Texas Brisket.

This rating is strictly based on Breakfast, Service & Cleanliness. I have been coming to have breakfast at Atlantis for a while and I can honestly say it is much better than Peter Pan. Pancakes are fluffy and delicious and home fries have a nice color and are flavorful (unlike peter pans). Service is also always attentive, host seats you as soon as you walk in and the kitchen gets the food out in great time. Definitely recommend this diner for breakfast! read more

I've eaten here a few times and it was decent. Last night we ordered gyros to go and I can easily say it was the worst gyro I've ever had. First of all, they don't make it with lamb. You can get either beef or chicken. I went with the chicken. When I got home and opened the container I was surprised to find that the pita was toasted, there were peppers and onions sautéed together inside the gyro and warm tomato. The combination made the pita all soggy. The chicken was extremely dry. There was nothing good about it. I've never gotten a gyro with peppers in it, or with the onions sautéed. Usually it's raw onion, lettuce and tomato on a fresh soft pita. For $15 I was disappointed to say the least. read more

I've only had the experience of getting take-out here, But I'm a fan! My fiances job is close to this diner so he stooped in one night to bring home some food. Any diner or restaurant for that matter that has take-out that tastes just as good as just made gets points in my book! I & My brother stopped there a few weeks ago & What a Diner it is! The Breakfast was Top Notch! Friendly Wait staff & The Belgian Waffles are to Die for! The Coffee was great Not left cooking in a glass carafe for hours. Some take the old Coffee & put it in the new brewed ones (Hauppague Palace) like some places i know. I called in an order for the "Grilled Chicken Santa Fe Salad". When I got home and opened the salad there was absolutely no grilled chicken, only one tiny piece of avocado, and a pound of onions. I literally paid $17.33 for an onion salad. When I called to let them know that I had no chicken in my salad the girl put me on hold for a few minutes, she then got back on the phone and said we're really busy, I have to call you back, so let me have your name and number. Although the food wasn't bad, it wasn't anything to brag about either. What really stuck out in my mind was the fact that they are grossly overpriced. For two people to eat breakfast it was $30, and I had bacon & eggs!!! They also charged $2.10 for each cup of coffee and $3.45 for a cup of juice for a TODDLER!!! Our burgers were over cooked, dry, and tasteless. But this is the reason why I will never step foot in there ever again. We asked to be moved to the other side of the diner because of a screaming baby. So, we were. But only to be seated next to a mother with 2 children 3&4 years old. The two girls did nothing but scream, yell, run, jump, stand on the bench, and sit on the ledge in front of the window with their feet on the table. When my boyfriend had had enough as we couldn't even hear one another he had asked the mother to please quiet her children. She asked if he was "kidding"? This led into an argument where SHE cursed at us In front of her children TWICE. The male host who seated us said we had to move and was calling the police and accused my boyfriend of cursing at her. Thankfully two other customers went to the "host" in our defense that it was her who cursed and not him. That her children have been behaving exactly how I described and that everyone had been disturbed and not able to enjoy their meals because of her misbehaved children. If this diner takes the side of a "mother" who doesn't teach her kids manners and allows them to behave like that in a restaurant then she should take them to Chucky cheese!! read more

1st and last time there ..ordered eggs with super well done fries...got burnt eggs and almost white fries...told the waiter it wasn't well done , he said sorry and walked away...sent it back and asked it be taken off the bill. When I paid the bill I told the cashier of the bad experience..she checked me out with an angry attitude and the manager standing next to her was texting through the whole exchange...worse dining experience in years ...NO ONE CARED read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This diner has the worst service, food, and staff I've ever experienced. Upon walking in, we were ignored completely by the hostess and manager. We stood waiting for over 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged by staff and seated. This should have been my cue to leave, but I gave it a chance. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before a waitress even came over to us. When we placed our orders and our food eventually came, it was severely undercooked. When we went up front to pay, the manager and hostess proceeded to tell us to "calculate our own checks" because she didn't feel like splitting the check. Will not be returning back here, and will definitely be telling all of my friends and family to AVOID this diner. read more

After a long hard but Great day, I wanted to treat myself to a stiff drink and a good meal. I ordered a Southern Comfort on the rocks,(Soco is my favorite drink) and a open Reuben Sandwich. I sat and sat waiting and wondering where was my well deserved drink. Well it finally came. The color looked clear. so I took a sip, and it was watered down, either by sitting on the counter waiting to be severed or the liquor bottle was watered down. I believed the 1st to be true. So after a 2nd sip (to be sure) I told the waitress (in a whisper) it was watered and I would rather have a Vodka Martini up. THERE I SAT, NO DRINK . The lady at the table in front of me complained about her food. The waitress ask her if she wanted something else, I did not hear her response. MY MOUTH WAS DIEING FOR A DRINK. Well here she comes with my meal. SO NO DRINK BEFORE DINNER. So I told her forget the Martini (I don't like to drink, especially a Martini during dinner) Bring me a Seltzer. I started to eat my meal when I saw the owner go over to the waitress. I over heard her say that " It was a Manhattan, he wanted a Martini!" So the "Owner" came to my table. I figured he was going to apologize. BUT instead he said " Why did I not want the drink" So as I was eating I said " No problem I came after my meal." The he proceeded, " BUT I MADE YOU 2!!!" so I said as I was eating, "Yea, but the 1st was watered down and the 2nd never came!!!" as I continued to eat. He did not stop, "BUT I MADE YOU 2!!!!" I said I am eating and I do not drink martini with my meal. He said " YEA BUT I MADE YOU 2" I then explained "The 1st was watered down for whatever reason, and the 2nd was going to be delivered after my meal" He then said " YES BUT I MADE YOU 2".. Well at that point I felt this meal was not to happen as he was turning my stomach so I told him to " TAKE HIS WATERED DOWN DRINKS AND HIS LATE MARTINI & HIS FOOD AND SHOVE THEM UP HIS AS#$^*"". I WALK OUT WITHOUT PAYING ...OBVIOUSLY.. I cannot believe that a so called owner would bother a patron while he was eating. He should have bought me a drink instead of arguing. SO Slow Went in last night for quick fast dinner. Not placed my order with waitress 615 PM not many table filled. When I asked at 645 where my wrap and panni sandwich were the manager and waitress both checked and said there was a mix up and would be out soon. When I inqured as to are they starting to make now I told them not to bother that I get faster and better service anywhere else. My table and two other tables all left. This diner is GREAT. The food is excellent, the drinks are huge, very clean and spacious and the staff is very nice and welcoming. One of my favorites is the Turkey Island Melt sandwich... mmmm! The are also very nice to you when you stumble in at 2:00am after going to a couple of bars in Babylon. read more

The food is good, waitstaff is usually great. The only drawback is that lately it has been taking longer and longer for the food to come out. Today we waited half an hour for our food to come out and that was for breakfast! Then the two orders of eggs over hard came out with one of the eggs on each plate runny! First time here service was very friendly. We ordered roast beef and mozzarella melted garlic bread and the open faced turkey sandwich. Both were amazing and the turkey dish could have fed three people! The Atlantis diner has delicious home-cooked meals. Also they give you large portions so you never leave hungry . They have a daily special board and a variety of foods from steaks to hearty sandwiches and of cause always breakfeast. Finally you cannot pass up a dessert that looks delicious! read more

Worst diner ive ever bee to..... service was terrible motza ball soup was tastless ... i had to sit on the end of the table which was on an angle... Got the yankee pot roast which was ice cold then i asked for bread which was stale and gross.... we wil not be returning! read more

Overpriced standard breakfast fare. Late Saturday morning and the breakfast rush was obviously over as most of the occupied tables emptied shortly after we were seated. Service was okay at first - but quickly went downhill. Two regular breakfast items plus short stack all came out at the same time, which was fine. But the syrup/butter/toast were brought out maybe 5 minutes later by a different server - sans my toast which I had to ask for. A minute later I got the barely toasted rye with a miniscule swipe of butter on each piece. Our original waitress never came back to check on us. We would have liked coffee refills, but they were never offered. We put our plates with what we wanted wrapped to go at the end of the table, and although multiple servers - including our original server and the man who seated us - came close to our table we could not get anyone's attention to ask for the check. After finally having to interrupt another server to ask her to send our waitress to our table, we waited another 10 minutes before she finally showed up. No apologies offered for the wait. A couple seated two tables away from us waited at least 20 minutes for their food after they placed their order. And another table of three women who were already seated when we got there were just getting their food when we got our check. My breakfast companion left a way too generous tip. wow this place changed alright and not for the better! I ordered a Greek Salad with grilled chicken chunks. The Chicken was ok but instead of lettuce I mostly got cut up green peppers! More peppers than lettuce in a salad?!! My husband got a greasy pork gyro plate with tons of green peppers too!. He had to choose between French fries or salad. Of course any other diner would give you French fries and you then choose soup OR salad. This was a terrible and expensive lunch. Never going back. read more

My husband and I eat at Atlantis Diner, in Babylon, frequently and we have always received a warm welcome at the door, then seated quickly. The service is very good and we usually enjoy every meal we eat there. I enjoy the tortilla salad the most. They give generous amounts of food, as well. I would say the prices are a little on the high side but for the amount of food you get, it evens out. I would definitely recommend Atlantis Diner to my friends. read more

This diner is horrible. I went with my dad for dinner. First his coffee was cold. The bread basket contained heated up bread that once we tasted it, we realized it had been stale and they were trying to camouflage it. I ordered the greek combo- looked and tasted like it had been frozen. My dad ordered the ham dinner and we had to ask for potato and vegetables otherwise all he would have gotten was a plate of fresh ham and stuffing. The waitress was barely around and just bought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. I had placed an order to go for my mom who was recovering from surgery. The entire order was wrong when we opened it at home. I will NEVER go to this diner again. This is the second time I had a bad experience. Even checking out, the hostess acted annoyed that people were waiting on line to pay and was not polite at all. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE FOOD! read more

Worst experience at a diner I've ever experienced. There was a group of four of us, my two brothers and a friend. We asked our server if it was possible to split the bill in fours (knowing it would be easier on the server and cashier) and she said no problem, they'd do it at the desk when we go to pay. Ordered the food, which was okay and a bit expensive for what it was, got the bill and went to the front desk. When we went to pay the cashier said we can't do that. By that time the manager came up to us said we were a problem and said "We only split checks for favors of people we know, not kids like you, figure out how your paying" and first off we are not kids, all over 20 years old and me being the oldest, second we were paying just like everyone else would. Then we were told to pay only by card and ONE card only. My younger brother ended up paying and walked out. We will not be coming back here again after this first experience and our friends 1,000th.
