This diner does get pretty busy, but the atmosphere is great. Not a lot of kids screaming. First things first, the coffee was good. Your standard coffee. I like the fact they have a person specifically to serve coffee to everybody that has a cup. The service was very good as well. The waitress Vikki did a great job. They're very quick to give you your food and water first. My friend had the bruschetta avocado toast. I had the avocado, cheddar, and tomato omelette with home fries. 1. The bruschetta avocado toast: They're too generous with the balsamic glaze. They need to lighten it up so you can enjoy the rest of the ingredients. Anything balsamic is typically a strong flavor as a small amount. The avocado, mozzarella and tomato are too heavy for the bread. They should try a more sturdy bread like sourdough to keep it up. The bread they currently use will just break apart. 2. My avocado, cheddar and tomato omelette w/ home fries: The home fries had some good flavor, but could've been better. The potatoes were cut like coins for the most part and I think that kills most of the home fries experience. Usually something like this is diced up to give an evenly crisp and cooked experience. All I really got was flimsy potato coins with some crisp here and there. Which led to the potatoes being soft and dull. It should've been pressed down onto more to give a more crisp flavor and texture. The omelette was pretty good. At certain points it seemed like the avocado was not ripe enough to cook with. It had a similar taste to steamed unseasoned broccoli, then at other portions of the omelette, it seems fine. The cheddar used lacked a bit taste. Overall, it was still good experience. The people are considerate and friendly. I also think they should bring the food out when it's a bit hotter. In addition the French toast was burnt in my opinion. The eggs tasted like old hotel eggs. In addition I ordered a Turkey Bacon cheese omelette. There's nothing better than a classic diner! The vibes were just as you'd expect, with traditional booths. When we sat down at our table, they gave us a plate of beets... an interesting choice of appetizer, but I didn't hate it. They've got all the usuals here. I'd recommend sticking with burgers, sandwiches, or breakfast dishes, since those always seem to be solid. I got the corned beef sandwich and I was very happy with it! They say all the right server things, but with an attitude of resigned disdain. They carry searing hot plates stacked up their forearms, and put your plate down without any "it's hot" warning because they could stick their arms in a blast furnace and come out unscathed. If you go into the experience as though it's participatory dinner theater, it's a great show. If you are unable to suspend disbelief during your meal, I'm not sure you'll be happy with the service. "Premier Diner" is more like a premier truckstop. Don't waste your money. I ordered a simple mushroom American cheese omelette with a side of sausage and french fries. What I got was reheated food. The french fries tasted stale and lukewarm, the sausage definitely look like it was microwaved, - the casing was wrinkly instead of tight and robust. The actual omelette itself was very good, along with the toast. Thought about returning the food or even just walking out when they served me the food, but I was too hungry after a 13-hour shift, so I ate what I could and left the rest behind. When with family on Saturday's, it's our anchor meal--we come in just for the beef barley. When ladled from the bottom, a bowl has big chunks of beef with a really thick and flavorful broth. As well, I requested onion rings instead of fries, so our waitress went and got the rings. Other than these two small bumps, perfect. My sister lives in Commack and I have driven past this diner for the last 13 years and never went in , and the last few months I have been here multiple times for breakfast. Wow ... what a great place . The meals are massive , the staff is so friendly, the seating is more then comfortable and the food is definitely great .
