Retro cute diner gem in suffolk. Service was exceptional, had a little mishap with the order, but they made changes swiftly. A little pricy for diner food options. Food was yummy and came fast. Only diner open on Easter! Can't complain :p Good experience!

Hi My friends, and welcome to Blue Point Long Island. For over 10 years I lived in this peaceful maritime area. This beautiful Waterfront community is situated on the East End of the South Shores of Long Island. Bordering Western Patchogue. Boating, beaches and fishing are just a few minutes walk from this spot. For years, The Blue Point Diner has been a wonderful neighborhood local spot where my friends and I would enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. You'll always feel welcome in this little roadside Diner where everybody knows your name. The daily newspapers are available.. but usually not needed here at the Blue Point Diner. Early in the morning it's alive with neighborhood activity, it's is the center of gossip and conversations for this community. You can find out who's getting divorced, who's selling their house or who just got a brand new speed boat. Wake up and find out all the morning town gossip just by having breakfast here. The owner and head chef George, usually knows what you'll want to eat without you needing a menu, he knows all of his customers and Friends by name. And he knows what you usually get. Everybody in Blue Point has been coming here for years. It was great to have breakfast at the Blue Point Diner again, I have missed my peaceful, waterside community since moving to Flushing 5 years ago. Walking in this morning, the owner George, remembered me immediately. My absence of 5 years was like moments, and he filled me in on all the neighborhood gossip. And of course, he knew what I wanted, the deluxe pancake special. The food was wonderful fresh and delicious as it always has been. The quality of the breakfast sausage and bacon is a little better than some other breakfast places you might find. Everything here is made with care from scratch. I'm very picky about my food and read some of the other reviews. For this spot. I'd like to say that I've been in here over 50 times in 10 years. I've never seen anything other than a spotlessly clean establishment serving fresh, top quality, homemade food. I just loved coming here to start my day. Some of my best memories. For breakfast lunch or dinner folks, You can't go wrong at the Blue Point Diner. Owned and operated by a local family of hard-working, caring people. See you again soon folks.

My fresh spinach and feta omelette ( I sprinkled hot sauce on top). I opted for fresh fruit instead of potatoes. DELISH!!!

Gyro under cooked and chicken sandwich over cooked. You can tell the french fries were cooked in old oil.

But, if you like delicious simple American food at reasonable prices. This is the place for you. Really. Ambiance is simple old school luncheonette. Like out of Life Magazine. And it's spotless and perfect. Service is spot on with a touch of sarcasm, like it should be when everyone seems to know everyone here. Great diner style coffee and super fresh and tasty juices will come out quick and so will your food. Except the home made corned beef hash. You'll wait a few minutes, and just a few extra minutes for that. Because they basically make from scratch on the spot. At least that's what it tastes like. So good So, corned beef hash and eggs is my go to, and it's my nirvana of meals too, but hey I'm a simple fat guy. And it's off the hook Nothing on Long Island comes close. So if you want a real breakfast, make it a point to come here. Today. Don't be like me. I should have started coming here 10 years ago. I didn't and I regret it. Also took forever to get our entrees not sure why since the place was not that crowded. My daughter ordered a steak medium and it was more like rare and very tough. I had to go to the UPS store (avoided rude unpleasant character in Shirley), and saw Howard's Cafe. Looked it up here, seemed great. Went in, and greeted by really NICE people! And they have GLUTEN-FREE rolls! Caryn came to seat me and take my order. She was the BEST! She didn't know if the turkey burgers had breadcrumbs, so I went with the grilled chicken. I also decided that I deserved bacon, so got the Mary, Mary topping--bacon, mushrooms, and sautéed onions. Entrees come with a salad, which arrived in a bowl topped by another bowl, with two things of dressing and croutons on the side. Caryn didn't think that I could have the croutons, and she was right. The salad was iceberg lettuce, which I hadn't had in YEARS, lol, with tomato and red onion. And a shaker of BAC-O's!! Oh my. Hadn't had those in 30 years. Very salty, which explains why. There was a choice of skinny fries (boo), steak fries, or sweet potato fries. I got the steak fries, which were wedges. Yum! The grilled chicken was yummy and generous, the bun was TOASTED (yay), and the toppings piled high. So good! A tad dry, but Caryn brought me some mayo. I forgot to order cheese. Ack. This is a nice place, with a bar filled with convivial locals, a cheerful bartender, and the marvelous Caryn. There are booths and tables. The iced tea came with two slices of lemon! I was SHOCKED when I got the bill. SHOCKED. It was $20.06 for a LOT of food and an iced tea! I took half the sandwich home because I couldn't finish it. I did finish all the salad--and Caryn asked if I would like more (declined)--and all the fries. Astonishing. What a great value!! That seems so rare these days. I had looked at the menus of a couple of other nearby places. Very glad that I chose this one. Sad that it's not near me, but I'll be back.
