I want to add an important update regarding the treatment that was recommended for my child's chipped tooth. After our visit at Atlantis, we decided to seek a second opinion. The second dentist performed a proper evaluation and discovered that the tooth had nerve damage and had already lost sensation. Because of this, the correct treatment is a root canal first, followed by repairing the tooth. This raises a serious question: why was this not checked during our visit with Dr. Jenny? No tests were done to determine whether the tooth still had sensation or whether there was nerve damage. Instead, the recommendation was to simply add material to the broken tooth to make the tooth look normal. Repairing the tooth cosmetically without identifying an underlying nerve problem could have led to further complications later. I am very concerned that such a basic diagnostic step does not appear to have been performed before recommending treatment. I'm very glad we decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. read more

I've been getting my Invisalign done at this orthodontist office and have had such a great experience, and I've also had braces done here in the past, as well as my mom and brother. The space is very clean and welcoming, which made me feel comfortable right away, and the staff are all so kind, especially the front desk team and Dr. Kavand. Everyone is patient, understanding, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I get pretty anxious about dental and orthodontic visits, but they've been super accommodating and have made the whole process much less stressful for me. I'm amazed and shocked at how well this went! I have an almost 5 year old son who is on the autism spectrum. I was nervous for his first dental appointment because of how he can be with new sensory experiences. But this team was fantastic!!! Lisa at reception reassured me I came to the right place when I first called and explained my son's needs. Danielle, the hygienist, was absolutely incredible and so sweet and friendly with him! She is awesome and had such a skillful way of working with my son!!! And the same with Dr. Jenny! They used a friendly sing-song voice to reassure him, they gave him a preview of sensations on his fingers before his mouth, and my son sat through all of it without any issues! They were sensitive and gentle but still managed to do X-rays, cleaning, and evaluation. I was truly shocked!!!! Dr. Jenny explained next steps for my son's care and provided options that are appropriate for his age and development level. I'm beyond pleased with this experience. The office is also so fun: the decor, the cartoon movies, the games while waiting and the tokens after the appointment. I think my son felt this was fun overall! Worst place ever! They prolong the treatment plan for unnecessary reasons (I verified with other sources) And super booked with appointments so if you have an emergency they won't give you appointments until weeks later. Their explanation " we get booked 7 weeks in advance" ...but emergency do not come planned. Their attitude is take the appointment or suffer and this gives another reason to prolong the treatment. I have been going to Dr. Phan since 2005 (used to be Olympic Orthodontics). He is the best orthodontist, the team is so friendly and they always do a wonderful job! I started coming to Atlantis (known as Olympic back then) after my first orthodontist made my overbite worse and have been super pleased with the care I've gotten since. After a round of braces and retainers my teeth and overbite are completely fixed and I love my smile! I recently came back to Atlantis to get my permanent retainer fixed after over 7 years and was super excited to see the same friendly team after so long! Dr. Phan and his team were incredibly kind and I felt super taken care of the entire time. My daughter started treatment with Dr. Johnson back in November 2018. This review is not about his bedside manner. This is entirely about the overpayment of my daughter's treatment and staff's lack of follow up. I feel being stalled for 18 months. Staff is friendly but not helpful. I signed the initial contract knowing that my double insurance coverage will cover most of the treatment. I told the account person not to deduct my monthly payment because I will over paid after insurance sent them the check. She said it was their policy to charge patient two $400 payment upfront and then $100 monthly until the amount is paid in full. She assured me that whatever amount we overpaid will be refunded to us once they receive insurance payment. My daughter has completed the active treatment 18 months ago. I understand that there's a change of ownership. However, our contract remained valid. I'm entitled to the overpayment. I have been calling numerous times to inquire about the refund. Every time, I was told that they would submit it for account review and the doctor will issue a refund check. Where is my refund check? This was not a pleasant experience for me. So I decided to take my son to Dr. Richard Anthony out of Blackhawk Plaza. We have great experience with them. 9/9/2021: I wanted to provide an update of my previous review to Atlantis Orthodontics. The new owner of Atlantis Orthodontics, Dr. Derek Phan has personally reached out to me after learning about my experience with the staff here on Yelp. My family and I have been clients for almost twenty years years here. After the change in ownership, we ran into many problems that affected the way we feel about this place. As I said, we've been clients for 20 years here but receptionist has recently been really rude and sassy towards us. It seems that they're only nice and welcoming towards new clients. Not only that, but the wait time. A girl was checked in before me who came after I checked in. Then checked in another client who wasn't even here! Receptionist said she didn't check me in yet. They treated me like as if I wasn't there. Everyone was super helpful except receptionist. Really hope they improve on that soon because we loved coming here. read more

We have been going here since it first opened in 2009 when it was formerly Olympic Orthodontics. 3 of my children and their dad have all gotten braces here. My youngest daughter was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and was finally cleared to get braces. In March 2022 we went in for consultation under new ownership and name Atlantis. The staff is amazing and the service is still impeccable. They understood her situation and in April 2022 she got her top braces put on. We went back in May and told them she had just gotten surgery for another spot that was removed. They took extra special care of her and put on new purple bands for her. I can not express how wonderful the staff is here. It's been a tough journey for us. A few days later I received a letter in the mail. I assumed it was my receipt for my 2nd down payment. I was shocked and brought to tears when it was her account balance of ZERO. They sent a beautiful note with encouraging words. They did not have to do this for her for us. Their words were..."continue to smile bright in this world. Your energy brightens up our day so we can only imagine how you are outside of our practice. We wanted to do something that will help you and give your family one less thing to worry about. Please accept our gift. We are honored to be a part of your journey! The owner of this office is a crook!!! He will bill you for services that were performed 4 years ago. He just recently billed me for services that were performed by Dr. Johnston who no longer is the owner of Altantis. He supposedly said my insurance did not pay out in 2018. How come they never contacted me between 2018-2021 to tell me this???? How do I know if this a fake bill? I refused to pay the bill. I just received a letter from Collections saying I owe $913!!!
