The Dentist is very nice. However, I was in pain for weeks after my dental cleaning, a very straightforward cleaning. I had to come back for pain treatment due to this, it was awful. Also, it was suggested that I have two teeth that are perfectly fine (confirmed to be fine by another Dentist) re-crowned for 'some' reason, at a great cost to me, and I was told I could benefit from teeth straightening, which I believe my teeth are just fine. In fact I was called about this quite often. I believe this Office is after the money from the Insurance Company, sadly. Very rarely do I find myself writing reviews. However, I have had the best dental experience. I will not go into to much detail. But, I never had dental insurance but I have had government insurance -- and I would have to find dentist in my area that would accept the insurance. Though, I do not want to speak negative about my past dental experiences; I would have to say that's exactly what I experienced with other dentist. I have had a tooth pulled out by a dentist that was not suppose to pull it out, I have had someone numb me via a shot in my gum but no numbing cream, I have felt the worst pain because I wasn't numbed enough. However, walking into inspire smiles dental. I was met by a friendly face -- Aurea, who gave me papers to fill out and after my visit she explained to me insurance stuff so well and really helped me. One of the papers ask for you to fill out, "what you would like from this visit," "Do you have any concerns," etc. Once I seen those questions I knew I was in the right place. Not many medical professionals keep the line of communication open and it's refreshing that I received that here. Next, I was met by the RDA -- Renee and she's freaking awesome! Sweetest person and not rough at all! She would talk me through everything. Then I met the dentist, she listened to all my worries and took my past experience into account and allowed me to ask all my questions. I don't have dental insurance so she allowed me to break up my payments. I really appreciated that. I had three very bad cavities that was filled with silver from when I was a child -- each silver filled tooth was also decaying due to cracking over the years. The work was a little of $3,000. But I knew what had to be done. I did not question anyone's intent as I appreciated the support and how I was treated. I could see how bad my teeth were; I knew it. And they never shamed me for it. Fancy office and friendly staff. Dr Rassiwala is very pleasant and friendly with her patients. The environment is very comfortable when you walk in... My first visit, I specifically requested ONLY for teeth cleaning since I have a regular dentist. I came here because of proximity and the office accepts Denti-Cal. (by the way, Denti-Cal ONLY covers xrays and teeth cleaning. It covers nothing else) After all the XRays, teeth cleaning, I went back home and was unsatisfied with my teeth cleaning. I was quoted over $2500 in upcoming dental work on my teeth (2 of them). Not going into my medical details here. I went to my regular dentist and he said there's nothing wrong with one of my tooth. The other one has a minor cavity. Some work does need to be done on one of my tooth, but not both. Unfortunately, our health care/dental care depends on our "insurance" and I have Dental-Cal. I am sure Dental-Cal doesn't pay a lot to doctors and it's one of those "bad" insurance. If you have better insurance, I think your experience will probably be different from mine. The doctors can just perform necessary work and just do "deep cleaning" and charge the insurance company. Nevertheless, I do feel the treatment plan was very aggressive on my first visit. I understand doctors have bills to pay, but how do you feel if you walk into a dental office and someone gave you a $2500 quote on your first visit? I would get a second opinion... read more

I would highly recommend getting a 2nd opinion and a 2nd quote. I came here because of proximity, where I had been a patient here for over two years. I had no oral issues except cavities prior to coming here. I received routine cleanings and got cavity fillings. Food buildup between my teeth escalated, causing sensitive gums, then daily and hourly pain. "Obligated by law and ethics to present the appropriate treatment", a clever diagnosis was devised, which would've costed me hundreds. Over the course of two years, each visit induced more visits, with more recommendations for further treatments. Little did I know these issues came from defective fillings from this office. The majority of the fillings I've received here have overhangs, as pointed out by another X-ray I had done. When the filling isn't smoothed out along the shape of the original tooth, a jagged overhang can catch food and floss. While flossing, my floss caught on to one of these overhangs, where one filling came out completely. I had never experienced this with any of my fillings done elsewhere. I have paid hundreds for these fillings (although they should've been covered by my insurance minus the copay). Unfortunately, I had to get every single filling Dr. Rassiwala has done--redone. Once I redid all of the fillings, it costed me $50 at a different dentist. My insurance hasn't changed in years, yet the quote was different for the exact same procedures at Inspire Smiles. I'd recommend confirming your bill on your insurance statement before paying. I've been prompted to pay a higher price than the actual statement on my insurance at least three times. Had I not double checked, I would've paid more; often times, more than double. They do not honor their Yelp offer (live as of today, not honored since I asked months ago). Prior to coming here, I never had issues during or after eating. After treatments here, meals were no longer enjoyable. I carried floss in every bag and every jacket. Now that the fillings have been re-done, I can enjoy meals again! No more pain, bloody gums, or lost fillings. Life before coming here has been restored. Having "the latest and the best digital technology" is insufficient. New equipment, massage chairs, Netflix, and nice furnishings don't make up for shoddy work. If you have excellent oral health to begin with, this might be okay for preventive care (although you may be paying more for it here). For any other treatments or procedures, I would recommend continuing your search. I am gladly traveling farther for sound oral care. _______________________ TL;DR Pricing is questionable and inconsistent. Treatments prompt further treatments. I'm in the middle of a root canal and going from Endo to general dentist Dr. Rassiwala and she up and sells her practice to another doctor. Doesn't even complete the final work on the root canal and expects me to go to some dentist I don't know. She tried to sell me on Invisalign at my last appt and now I know why. She's only continuing her Invisalign business and nothing else. Why would you start a patient on the root canal process knowing you wouldn't complete the work! So unprofessional!!! The only good thing I got from this dental office is the referral to Dr. Steven Ryan who is an amazing Endodontist and was kind enough to finish the work that Dr. Rassiwala failed to complete and wanted to pass me off to some random dentist. Front staff said they too only found out this week. This review is strictly on Dr. Rassiwala which may be pointless since she's sold her practice. If you want Invisalign - go to Dr. M. Dr. R is an angel! She's the nicest dentist I've ever had and you can tell she cares about her patients. Doctors of all types should come learn bedside manner from her. Two things stand out in particular, 1. She explains everything. And in detail that's easy to process and understand. I've been to dentists once or twice a year for my whole life, but this is the first dentist that's put the holistic nature of oral health in perspective for me. 2. She's not judgmental. She listens patiently about any concerns and speaks to your issues with an authority that only comes from having extensive experience and knowledge. I'm sure you've experienced judgmental health professionals that make you feel bad for asking questions and trying to understand your own health. You've probably been to medical professionals that stutter and stammer and try to shut down your concerns because they don't know the answer and don't want to appear uninformed. Dr. R is the opposite of this type of doctor and it makes an enormous difference. If you have ever put off dental health because of worries about dental offices, go see Dr. Rassiwala, hands down. I had my cavities treated and teeth whitened by Dr. Rassiwala a few months ago and had 0 issues so far. My teeth still feels white and clean. The equipment in this dentistry is super up-to-date, at least compared to other dentists I've been to. TV and Pandora music was available during the treatment. I didn't use it, but it was nice to have the option. Dr. Rassiwala seemed very knowledgeable and was patient in answering all of my questions. She is very thorough in explaining what problems you may have, why it is a problem, how she plans to treat it, and any possible side effects. Dr. Rassiwala also ensured that I am comfortable during my entire stay in the office. If you go here, get a second opinion. Not doing so could cost you. I came here with a Groupon for cleaning and x-rays, with the plan to take the x-rays to my usual dentist (x-rays at my dentist would have been more expensive). After being told my teeth were in horrible shape and I had 7 cavities, I left here without even the cleaning I paid for. Why? Apparently the dentist could not, "in good conscience" and because of her "legal obligation" perform the cleaning on teeth that were in such terrible condition. I left with only my x-rays and a "treatment plan" that would have cost me upwards of $5000. Fast forward to last night: I visited my usual dentist and was told I only had four cavities. On top of that, the x-rays I had taken at Inspire Smiles were of such poor quality that my dentist had to take them again. I got two fillings (two of my cavities repaired), paid my $250 bill (yes, that's right), and left. This is a TRUE STORY. Get a second opinion! read more
