This is the nicest, most honest jewelry store I've ever encountered. I went in to get a pair of diamond earrings "fixed" because they kept falling out. The owner advised that I just needed to tighten them which he proceeded to do, for no charge. He could have easily said that I needed to get them re-soldered and I would have believed him. He also changed a watch battery and tried to take some links out of an additional vintage watch I had brought in. The watch could not be tightened due to corrosion in the links. I left paying only $7!! He spent so much time on me, and him and his business partner made me feel so welcomed. Truly a "gem" of a store. read more

I'll start off with the fact that I cannot wear anything but gold in my ears or they turn black. I've had these diamond and emerald stud earrings since I was a teenager. I included the oldest picture I could find with a clear shot of the earrings with my son when he was 2 and you can clearly see the earrings and a recent picture of my son and I at 12 years old bc I alone look the same as I did 20 years ago. I took my earring in to get the back replaced bc it broke and they charged me $60! I only wear studs so I had another pair I was wearing for awhile before I put the repaired ones in. When I finally wore them only one turned my ear completely black w extreme pain and dryness. I went back to Landmark jewelers and spoke to this old Jewish man and he didn't even want to see my old picture and listen to my problem as I've had the earrings for over 20 years with no issues. He treated me like I was a scammer and not worthy of his time. He claimed they don't have the backing of the earring shape so they replaced the one that was gold, not the one that turned my ear black. Even though they are the same!! Crazy how in 20+ years it only recently turned my ear black. So basically they ripped me off $60 Idk about the jewelry in store but don't take a repair there or you'll probably get screwed too. Awful rip off people taking advantage of a single mom. I will be taking my earring to another jeweler to make sure they didn't steal the stones and replace them with fakes. Seems like that's what these thieves would do. Horrible business people. Just stingy liars. read more

Went to Landmark to see Barry because my Wife's Wedding Band, Engagement ring and anniversary ring would not come off her finger. We had tried for 4 days with various methods but nothing seemed to work. Finally went to see Barry at Landmark, and much to my wife's dismay he ended up cutting all three rings off. After waiting a couple of weeks for her finger's swelling to go down, we went back to get measured to see how much the rings needed to be re-sized. Her finger was 1 and 1/2 sizes larger now. Barry said about 2 weeks to get them back. When we went to pick up the rings we could not believe how great the rings looked. So bright and shiny, and you could not tell where the cut was or the new section was added. Beautiful work - we are so happy we wen to see Barry. read more

Repair was quick and my ring looked brand new upon pick up! Not only did the repair work look perfect but any signs of normal wear and tear were gone! I have been a customer of Landmark Jewelers for about 18 years, from their old location on Dempster Street to their current location on Milwaukee Ave. Barry has been the owner during that full time span and has always been the person I've interacted with during all of our visits. I was initially drawn to Landmark through a promotion they were having but ended up being a repeat customer because of the excellent personal service, the high quality diamonds and gemstones, the unique and creative designs, and finally the very reasonable prices. I've bought engagement rings, wedding bands, pendants, and earrings through Barry and have even had him custom design some jewelry for me. Every time I've come away with something unique and one-of-a-kind, something you're not likely to get at a place like Tiffany's or other chain jeweler, in my opinion. I've also referred many of my friends and relatives to Landmark, and they've always been very pleased with the service and quality they've received. I estimate I've personally spent well over $20,000 over the years with Landmark, they are always my one and only stop for jewelry. The last creation Barry did for us was a pair of diamond earrings for my wife. My mother-in-law had recently passed away, so my wife inherited her mother's solitaire diamond from her engagement ring, a high quality, near flawless stone. This was obviously a very emotional time for us, but it was important to my wife to have this important stone immortalized in a new piece. We decided to have Barry turn it into a set of earrings, so obviously we needed a matching stone to create the set. Over several visits, Barry patiently walked us through many different options, from different settings to different matching stones. His sensitivity and personal attention made us feel good about what we were getting. And honestly what surprised me the most was that it was much less expensive than I had anticipated. The final product turned out absolutely gorgeous as expected, my wife was in tears when she put them on for the first time. Regarding the one star review that's here from 6/17/2011, I have a hard time believing that this reviewer ever actually stepped foot into Landmark. Anyone that knows Barry or his wife know that the review does not describe or even come close to any experience that they would have had at Landmark. I'm not really sure why you would come to a jeweler to sell anything anyway, to me the most important criteria for evaluating a jeweler is the quality of the jewelry they sell, the value that they offer, and the personal service that they give. To me, Landmark hits on all fronts which is why I fully intend to continue bringing all of my jewelry business to them. read more

I spoke too soon when I posted yesterday (6/13) about going to store at 4:45 to find it closed, and sign said 5:30 closing. He wrote an accurate report so that my insurance will properly cover my wife's ring. I checked around other jewellers and Landmark had the best price. All I can say is I looked at the first couple reviews and I decided to give this place a try. My fiancé and I have been in the market for a loose diamond for some time now. He has designed all of my family member's engagement rings and countless necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and bands. Not to mention all of the referrals that have come to Barry because of our rave reviews! After becoming engaged this summer, I finally got to use Barry to help design my own engagement ring!
