My husband and I have purchased four rings from Arman Jewelers over the last 4 years. The first was a gorgeous ruby ring with delicate diamonds. It was the first piece of jewelry my husband ever gave me, back before we got married. After having such a good experience buying that first ring (plus free ring cleaning and amazing customer service), my husband decided to buy my engagement ring here. They took an old family heirloom black diamond and set it in the most AMAZING platinum band surrounded by small diamonds. I obviously said "yes" to my man and that ring. We then got our wedding bands from Arman, and again, the service we received was SUPERB. Always free ring cleaning, always friendly service. Two weeks ago, I was in an apartment building fire. A neighbor passed out while cooking and hit their head. In my attempt to smash their door down to get them out of the unit, I badly damaged both my engagement ring and wedding band. I lost three diamonds in total, and both bands were bent to the point of breaking. Although I was glad everyone in the situation was safe, I was very upset about my damaged, broken rings. We expected the repairs to take weeks and cost hundreds of dollars. Arman Jewelers not only fixed the rings in less than two weeks, but they also charged us a shocking amount. I really like this jewelry store. There is one man that works there that always greets me when I walk in, is extremely helpful, and doesn't act as if I can't afford the things he's selling. I hate when jewelry stores do that. I've bought a ring there before and they always offer to clean it when I'm at the mall. I always get compliments on the ring as well. My mom purchased it as a gift when I turned 21 and she bargained with them until she felt the price was right. They were extremely friendly and didn't just turn her away when she asked for a lower price. Yesterday I stopped by to look for an earring back that I had lost a year ago. I had already checked four jewelry stores and nothing! They did their best to help me and finally found one that fit. My fiancé and I recently were in the market to purchase an engagement ring. I walked into Arman Jewelers and was helped by Ray. Now I will say he was very good salesman. He was very nice to us and made us feel comfortable. I was indecisive picking out a ring because I didn't find anything already made that was what I was looking for. So I found 2 different rings and I liked the band on one and the stone on the other. So Ray told us he could customize the ring and make it exactly what I was looking for. With that being said we talked pricing and we agreed on a price. They said they would call us in a week or two. Right before the second week came by they called my fiancé and told him that the ring was ready, but it wasn't exactly what they promised to make. Ray told us to come in and look at the ring because they didn't have the carat size I wanted for my center stone. He failed to mention the clarity was different. The next day we went in and he showed us the ring. Although the center stone carat was smaller it was still stunning and I loved the ring. I was told that the stones on the band and the center stone were of high quality on the clarity rating scale, and that they all matched and were suppose to be VS. my fiancé purchased the ring for me. I later went to a couple of different jewelers just to make sure I wasn't ripped off. Granted it was my fault I didn't get everything in writing before purchasing. Any who I was basically told the ring was worthless from one jeweler and the other who is a close friend of the family told me they wouldn't have sold it to me that high of a price because it wasn't worth that much. They also told me that the quality of the ring wasn't what I thought I bought. (This is particularly for the center stone, the small stones on the band were VS, but center was SI) I was very frustrated because it was suppose to be a very exciting time in my life, but instead I felt ripped off. I then went back to Arman Jewelers and spoke to the owner and I asked for my ring to be certified and they said they don't certify rings at that store. I asked for my appraisal and they said they already gave me one, but I never got anything. Now I am upset at the fact that I was lied to and I felt completely cheated. They brought me a new stone which was of middle quality and they tried to make me pay 500 more dollars for it. Granted they did certify this particular stone for me (although they told me they don't do that). If I already feel cheated why on earth would you try to take more money from us. That blows my mind.. what makes you think I want to spend another cent there!? Ray was giggling and tried to argue with me about the ring. How unprofessional is it for you to laugh at someone who is upset ? And to argue with me is one thing.. I understand trying to defend yourself, but I can't stand a liar. Bottom line I was lied to so I would purchase and then I was told another story. I had to keep the ring I originally purchased because they wouldn't refund me and I am very unhappy with it knowing that it's not what I thought my fiancé was paying for. I expected them to fix the problem with out making us pay more when we were already cheated in the first place. If a customer is unhappy about something they purchase you can't just say "pay more or I can't help you". That is just ridiculous! I won't be returning and I do not recommend them to anyone unless you get everything you discussed in writing, because they will lie and overcharge you and make you think you're paying for something better than what you actually get! It sucks to have such a horrible experience when it's suppose to be the happiest time of your life! Arman Jewelers do better next time..! A tip for first time buyers. Do your research don't rush and read reviews. And most definitely make sure your ring is certified and you have all the info in writing before you buy. I stopped in a small shop that advertised jewelry repair on site. They were fantastic. I have had 2 pairs of nice metal framed eyeglasses for about 15 years which break about once every 2 years. I haven't been able to find a similar size/style since then. The Arman folks specialize in very fine brazing that holds up very well, and I have been able to reuse my frames many times over when otherwise would have to throw them away. A few minutes later, I entered the store with a pendant to be repaired. Mounir greeted me, looked over the pendant, provided a quote and had the repair done perfectly, in just a few minutes.
