Great location, creative drinks, swanky vibes! Located in the middle of Bishop Arts, Atlas is worth the hassle of finding parking around the area. We walked in (as they don't take reservations) on a Sunday evening, and we had about a 10 minute wait for a table to open for a party of 2. The first thing I noticed as I glanced at the cocktail menu was the way they designated a country for each drink. I went for the Paloma (painted donkey blanco tequila, grapefruit cordial, lime, squirt), which represented Mexico. My friend went for the Sidecar (Pierre Ferrand cognac, curacao, lemon, sugar rim) representing France. Both were good, but I definitely liked my paloma better. I knew it was a safe choice for me, though, as I love tequila based fruity cocktails. We then also tried the aperol spritz from Italy (aperol, JP chenut brut, topo chico). It was a little too sweet for me. But still a refreshing one. We got a bit hungry, so we also went for the tomato & basil bruschetta (Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil, Parmesan, Balsamic Glaze, French Bread, Evoo). Small bites, and very tasty! Recommend! We did have to flag our waitress down a few times during our visit, and service was a little on the slow side. But we still enjoyed our experience! Horrible, horrible, horrible service!!!! Do not go here if you are African American!!! They will racially proile you and discriminate against you!!! Last night two of my friend girls and I ended our night at Atlas. It was a great night with good music (awesome dj) until a bartender walked from behind the bar, blasted our ticket amount ($80+) to the entire venue then proceeded to demand a certain dollar amount tip from my friend. My friend proceeded to say, "We just ordered more drinks." Long story short the waiter went on to say and yell very aggressively how he only makes $2/hr. He proceeded to say, "You all have been here for three hours and have been saying "aye" all night!" (again, awesome dj, but are we not allowed to enjoy ourselves while singing and dancing)? This is the point where I stood up because I began to feel harassed and discriminated against!!! It was almost 2:00 am and they were about to close. He continued to be aggressive and demanded a certain dollar amount tip. I work in human resources, my friends are managers and i've never experienced anything like this in my twenty nine years of life but that was not the worst part; after we paid for our last drinks, we were already on our way out; the waiter pointed and yelled, "out!!!! you're banned!! Boo these people and the crowd actually booed us as we walked out!!!!!! This was by far the worst experience in my life!!!!!!! I repeat, if you are African American do not patronize this business as you will be discriminated against and racially profiled!!!!!!! Love this new spot in Bishop Arts District!! Opened recently and has library lounge vibes. There's a small speakeasy in the back as well. Entrance to the speakeasy is a massive book shelf. Open until 2am every night. Was packed on a Friday night, good crowd and great service! Fun menu too, they had so many unique drinks from around the world. Ordered the Singapore Sling, Rose Gold, Truth Serum, and the cheesecakes (English Banoffee and Swiss Chocolate). The drinks and cheesecake were AMAZING! Flavors in the drinks were very unique and blended well together. Singapore Sling was a large drink, tasty, but had a little too much ice in it. The Rose Gold was a smaller portion, tasted a lot like beet juice and less like a drink. The Truth Serum had a strong cardamum flavor to it, but was creamy and milky. The cheesecakes were decadent and fresh. Will be coming back here again! read more

Me and my girl friends tried going there Friday night (10-7-22) and the door guy wouldn't let us in..this was around 1:30 and the door man's excuse for not letting us in was that it was "too late" but as soon as we walked away he let a couple of men inside. My girl friends and I were obviously very disappointed and upset. We couldn't understand why he would of denied our entrance to go inside but right after let a couple of men in.. CONSIDERING that my two girlfriends who were with me are from Bishop Arts and have been going there for many years last night was the very first time they were denied access inside. The door man was white and kinda short, I have never seen him before..maybe because I don't go as often as my friends do but this really bothered me. Us ladies seeing that he let a couple of men inside after saying "no" to us makes me question if we would return...might he do the same thing AGAIN..? When we walked back and asked him why we weren't able to go inside and THEY WERE he kinda laughed and mocked us, and said that it was because he knew them...Of course we left very upset. Once again. One of the reasons why men go to clubs/bars is because they expect to see pretty girls in there but this was backwards.. To let men in and NOT ladies? How are men suppose to "come back" if there's no ladies in there? Nobody likes a sausage party. I myself have been to Atlas couple of times and enjoyed it but tonight was not it. I don't know when I'll see Atlas again after this experience. Not to add that when we were walking away the second time, the door man decided to laugh at us AGAIN but this time with another man who was next to him. I guess it was funny to the door man being able to say no to us coming inside. A few men from inside Atlas saw us a walking away with our upset faces and they decided to step outside of Atlas to come after us and offer us drinks from inside and suggested we sat at the patio outside of Atlas but one of my friends said no, that, that was humiliating and that she didn't want him spending money on a place that didn't allow us women inside. I hope this creates guidance to making Atlas a better place so my friends who had been going there for years and I can come back and have a good time in there like everyone else once again. If I could put no stars, I would. Don't go here. They are racist and discriminatory. I was literally denied entry because of my VALID out of state ID. I understand they reserve the right of admission but for a Puerto Rican ID? Puerto Rico; which is US territory AND the oldest US colony. My friend showed his Mexican ID and they let him in, where as with mine he (tall white male bouncer) didn't even looked twice. The WORST service I have experienced in a very long time. Our bartender was incredibly rude. After very poor service, I went up to pay, and she slid the check at me and said, by the way your tip has been already included. Popped into Atlas after a great time at Reveler's Hall since it is next door and has great reviews. We walked in and asked the female bartender if we could sit anywhere, she stared blankly at us and told us she didn't care. My husband went up to the bar to order for the four of us since the sole server hadn't come over. She wouldn't acknowledge him as he politely asked after a few minutes if he could order drinks. She completely dismissed him as he ordered four high end bourbons and then the male bartender who overheard our order came over to help us. Initial impression is that the food menu feels scattered. The menu ranges from beef pho to cuban sandwiches to cheese board, which I understand is fitting to the "atlas" theme but as someone who only gets pho from pho restaurants, it threw me off a bit. Despite this, I've been here twice and love the cocktails. I also love how they feature cocktails using local liquor. At first, I avoided the local liquor thinking that there's no way Texas has good liquor but I was wrong. I cannot stop thinking about the Rugged Flower. Other notable cocktails include: Truth Serum, Rose Gold and Atlas Shrugged. I also tried the Pisco Sour which I thought was OK compared to the ones I mentioned above. All in all, I am a huge fan and will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu including the food! read more

It's nice to be back in Dallas and check out new bars!! I was walking down the bishop arts district with a couple of friends exploring the cute neighborhood when we decided to pop into a bar with a sign "Walkens Welcome" We were instantly greeted with a gorgeous smile and warm energy. Sat down at the bar and tried Nomad, Singapore Sling, and Pisco Sour. It was incredible!! Perfectly refreshing cocktails on hot Texas summer days. We were treated by Ashley, she was a pure gem. She made us feel like we've been friends for years and guided us to all the cool spots to check out afterward. Hi Dan, I understand you are the owner of Atlas. I wanted to share a very negative experience we recently had with your bartender. My husband, a friend and I went for a drink on Thursday evening. This was our 2nd visit to Atlas. The place was empty and the bartender named Reed (?) was the only one there (evidently the female server was outside when we arrived), therefore, Reed came up to our table to greet us. Before ordering a drink, we asked her if we could take a peek at the "back room" and she was extremely rude in her response. We couldn't believe she worked in the hospitality industry with such an ugly disposition. She preceded to walk outside and summon the server Caitlyn. They both went behind the bar and it was obvious Reed told her about us. They both looked our way and laughed. Caitlyn ended up taking our drink order. She was pleasant and apologetic for Reed's unprofessional behavior. Dan, we will never visit your establishment again and I will not recommend it to anyone. I suggest you speak with Reed and emphasize the importance of being friendly and professional. Maybe she doesn't like people over the age of 60? Regardless, Dallas has an abundance of excellent restaurants/ bars and we don't need to put up with such poor service. Good luck. read more

I spent a decade as a high end craft cocktail bartender, I can say without question I was never as dismissive as the bartender I was served by at this establishment. Completely vacant expression, no indication she was listening or retaining what I was saying. I've NEVER felt less welcomed while ordering 150$ of booze. We're new to the area and are high end/craft cocktail people. I guess I should be thankful, instead of spending me and my wife a few grand a year here for the next decade, I'll find a place that wants my business. Great space, cool vibe, music on point, loved the liquor selection.... And I'd rather be sober forever than give this place 1$ more of my money. Came here on Saturday night and I loved this bar! There are lounge chairs, bar seating, table seating, and a smaller quieter back room bar, no reservations which is nice... we walked in and got a seat at the beautiful bar. The drink menu looks good and we had to try the $19 "can you dig it" and it was with it- the espresso part was very good and topped with banana cream & Oreo pieces it's a nice boozy dessert. A group of friends and I came to this bar Friday night, and we were at first enjoying ourselves on the patio with our cocktails. This man came up to us and started harassing us, yelling at us calling us bitches and saying how the men in our group were "simps" for buying us drinks. After 5 minutes of trying to get him to leave, I go and ask the bouncer who is 3 feet away watching this all go down to ask him to leave or get him to go away so we can enjoy our drinks. He looks at the guy and then looks at me and does nothing. Not 3 minutes later the man physically assaults one of the guys in our group. We end up leaving and not even being able to finish our drinks. So disappointed in our experience at this bar, since they obviously don't care about keeping their guests safe. read more
