This summer I turned it back on again, it ran for a couple days and started leaking again and I thought, huh, this is weird. So instead of calling for a service fee, it is the weekend I went online, went to YouTube,and saw how to take the thing apart. I noticed that the drain tube for the condenser was not hooked up to the drain PAN. So every time it was working, the water wasn't going anywhere, except for down the front of our wall. Anyway, long story short, I'm sure it was just to skip over, but if your unit is dripping, take it apart and make sure that the back of the drip PAN is hooked into the condenser water line probably using wrong terminology.

I called Renaud and they picked up on the first ring. A service tech (Gary) showed up at our house in Kalama within 45 minutes. He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes: a blown 3 amp fuse in the furnace blower section (in the garage) caused by a frayed wire in the bottom of the condenser unit (outside the house). He took the lid off of the condenser unit, climbed inside, repaired the damaged wire; all while it was raining. He replaced the fuse, and we were back online in less than 30 minutes. The service call and work was less than $300 and we were very pleased with Gary's professionalism and expertise. The price was affordable and we're grateful to Renaud.

I filed a claim through my…read morehome warrantee on a property I have in another state and was given their contact information and a work order number. Per my warrantee company they randomly choose a plumber from there list and the company would call me within 24 hours to schedule the repair. The company never called me so I contacted them. They told me she never received the work Oder and would have to call me back that day. I never received a call back and called them back two days later. They told me I was on their list to call. So I asked for there availability and she said they were all booked but she is doing the schedule later that day and would call me after she was done to give me an appointment. This never happen. Again I waited a couple days thinking she was just busy. About four days later she calls me and says she has an opening in two hours. I explained to her that she was aware that I was in another state and needed more notice. She did not seem to understand. This went on for another week until I called the warrantee company and found out that she told them that they tried to arrange an appointment but she could not get ahold of me. This is ridiculous. The funny thing is that the only time they called me was to give me an appointment two hours later because another of their jobs fell through. I got a new referral for another plumber from the warrantee comp and she called, showed up, and fixed the problem without issues. I am writing this a caution to those who might seek this companies service and expect good customer services.

I am a big fan of of Western Heating and Cooling and it is the only company I call when I am in…read moreneed of HVAC services. I initially found them with a Groupon and was impressed. They fixed an aging air conditioner and fairly recently replaced my gas furnace and air conditioner. It was 29 degrees the day of service and I offered to postpone the service. They came anyway. They came a year later to do a courtesy check on the furnace and decided to wait for the check on the air conditioner when it would be more obvious that it was working as it should. Before they installed the new equipment I had asked if they would install an automatic cutoff device on the gas in case of an earthquake. They said they don't usually do that and I was okay with that. Then they called and said they had found the device and would be happy to install it. Recently I noticed that I had a lot of cold air coming in the cabinet above the stove microwave. I had had my roof replaced by Evergreen Renovations and Roofing and suspected that they hadn't hooked up the ducting and vent correctly. I had called the roofer and was told it wasn't their responsibility to hook it up but they would do it as a courtesy if the ducting was flexible. Western Heating and Cooling shared my thought that if you unhook somethinbg, you should reattach it. I didn't know who to call but I asked Western Heating and Cooling if they could check it out. While the roofer showed me a photo of a rigid ducting, the HVAC people showed me a photo of the ducting with a large hole in it. Once again, the weather wasn't ideal for them coming out. It was supposed to get to 102 degrees and I was concerned about their safety in my attic. They still came out, fixed the problem and even did some nice work inside the house around the duct in the cabinet above the microwave. I was thrilled. I asked if that job was something they would usually do and was told that, no, it wasn't. but they would do what need to be done to help me. They are polite and thoughtful about my property and keep me updated as to when they are going to arrive and, unless, there is a problem on the road, they have been prompt. I have recommended Western Heating and Cooling to many people and would highly recommend it to anyone needing their services.

I'm not one to blast businesses online. But after much thought, I feel like my experience working…read morew/ Patrick @ PMS Plumbing warrants a response. If for nothing else, to be used as a cautionary tale. I stopped recommending Patrick several years ago when he no-showed on two separate referrals (one being my dad and stepmom). So, I knowingly went against my better judgement when I hired him to rough-in the drain/vent lines on an investment property I'm remodeling. My go-to plumber (shoutout to Mark @ Pipe Dream) was booking over a month out and I couldn't wait that long. Since Patrick had, in the past, done good work for me, I felt like I could look past old mistakes in order to get the job done. That was Mistake #1. Mistake #2 was when I paid him the remaining portion of my bill when he hadn't finished 100% of the work. He had finished the large majority of the job by Friday afternoon and said he would make sure it was ready for my permit inspection on Monday. So like I said, I paid him out just to make it easier on both of us. Many things went wrong over the course of this job. Things that under normal circumstances I'd deal with and chalk up to the cost of doing business. But based on his responses (or non-responses), I'm finding that difficult to do. For instance, before I paid him out I noticed that instead of using a hole saw to route pipe through five load-bearing studs he severed the studs entirely. He also severed a load-bearing top plate to pass a vertical vent. When I asked about it he claimed it was how it's done in the trades. I doubted the accuracy of the statement as the header was already sagging from loss of vertical support. I later confirmed my doubt with the inspector. I shouldn't have paid him out until all of that was fixed, but I did because I'm often easy-going to a fault. I fixed all aforementioned issues myself. Unfortunately, we still failed the permit inspection due to leaks. He did come back to tighten those up and we passed inspection the following day. The biggest issue was the tying in of all the drain lines into the main sewer connection. When he bid the job I told him the sewer line was stubbed into the crawlspace. I thought it was, but I was wrong. He didn't look in the crawlspace for himself prior to bidding the work. So we both made errors. I admitted mine - he would not. We ultimately agreed to split the cost of the additional materials necessary to finish the job, and I agreed to have it on site so he could stop by and make the connection the next day. He never paid his portion and failed to complete all of the work when he came back. Telling me he still needed a couple fittings he didn't have, so he'd be back "tomorrow". He was hired under the pretense that the work would be done by the end of last weekend. So yesterday I began getting impatient and started calling, texting, and reaching out on Facebook. Patrick never responded/answered. I started calling and texting again first thing this morning, thinking maybe I could catch him on his way to his first job. None of my messages were anything but cordial or professional. He ignored me until 2:45PM. When he finally responded it was a lot of incoherent and hard-to-read thoughts, muddled with claims that I was a lowballer like a typical real estate agent (side note: I paid him the full price he bid - never once trying to negotiate it lower). At that point I knew this was all a lost cause and it was time to just cut ties and swallow the extra expenses. I told him he didn't need to come back out. His response? "Good luck. Fucker." I guess that's what $3K buys you. ‍
