I was calling around getting quotes for new flooring. I will honestly say, Luke came in and my wife and I had lots of questions he was very patient and knowledgeable. We asked him to give us a few measurements and looking at vinyl, tile, carpet and even our kitchen backsplash. We also got a quote for new baseboards. We got other quotes, but we didn't feel the level of service and honesty was there as much as it was with Atomic Construction. So after we decided to trust Atomic Construction with the project, I was texting a lot of different opinions with Luke and he responded in a timely manner. My wife kept changing her mind on what exactly we wanted and Luke and Adam (owner) were PROFESSIONAL throughout the process. We ultimately decided to get the flooring from Floor and Decor as my wife loved a specific one. We also purchased the tiles from there for the wet areas and had Adam and his crew pick them up. The project started on the day Adam committed and finished on the same timeline that I was given. They installed vinyl plank, tile, baseboards and a backsplash for us at a very competitive price. Not only would I hire Atomic Construction again in the future, by I will certainly refer them to anyone I know. Had a great experience working with the team at Atomic. We redid our floors while living out of state and Adam was very communicative throughout the whole process giving us updates and sending us photos. You could tell he understood the stress of renovating from afar and put our worries at ease. I worked with Jon to pick the actual floors out, he was super patient while I looked at so many samples. This was hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a contractor. While the initial response and quote were quick, everything after that was a complete disappointment. Worker reliability and workmanship were inconsistent, and the overall professionalism of the job fell far below expectations. Issues arose that should not have happened in the first place. Although the owner responded when concerns were raised, it often felt reactive rather than proactive. I was left having to follow up repeatedly to address problems that should have been managed internally. The most unacceptable part was what happened after the job was completed. Not even one full business day had passed before I was hit with a barrage of calls, texts, and emails demanding payment -- including threats of late fees. The aggressive tone and immediate escalation were completely unprofessional and unnecessary. We decided to go with Atomic because of the initial interview and conversation with Luke. He answered all the question well, was likable and appeared to be a person of good character. Two of the strongest reasons we chose them is during our conversation Luke made sure to emphasize their transparency and their willingness to fix mistakes and accidents as they went. There are multiple mistakes that were brought to their attention that have not been fixed. Our issues are the following: · Adam, the main person we spoke with concerning our issues scheduled the 2nd part of tiling with my wife and then rescheduled it without communicating it with us, in any way, until we reached out after the scheduled date. o During that conversation he stated he would call me that evening with when the tiling would happen. He did not. People showed up the following Monday morning telling us that we would be ready and waiting. Of course we made accommodations. We were in no way ready and waiting. · Adam arrived to inspect some of our concerns about the tiling that had already been done. He claimed the curves in the tiles along the base boards were because of the base boards. He also claimed a final walk through would happen after tiling to resolve issues with chips and other concerns. The 2nd group of people that were tiling noticed the problems from the first group and the 2nd group was infinitely better and the tiling went much better. HOWEVER, there has been no communication from Atomic or Adam, no walk through and no fixes. ALSO, I broke out the measuring tape and measured the tile along the base boards and discovered most of the issues were NOT because of the baseboards. Some were. I am no expert and I have helped tile a couple houses so with my novice experience, and some sense, I was able to deduce that Adam was trying to brush it off. In order for the review to come down and change to a 5 start the following has to happen: · Adam must apologize in person for attempting to sneak errors past us and essentially talking down to us. · Atomic must honor its promise of following through and fixing mistakes and accidents. To preface, our salesman Luke, and the second set of tilers were absolutely phenomenal. Luke was very helpful and responsive, while the tilers did an amazing job in laying our tile. Now, I gave 3-stars as a whole because Atomic's communication was absolutely atrocious. Adam ghosted me at one point until my husband reached out (who was actually not involved in the project at all). He stopped working on my project for several days without communicating as such. Not only did he rarely communicate with me directly, even when instructed to by my husband, he also essentially harassed me at the end of the project when presenting the invoice. He sent the final invoice in the middle of the night and texted/emailed me multiple times starting at 7am the following day (approx a business day later). That day. I asked for an adjustment in the invoice, didn't receive a response, and then received emails, texts, AND calls further stating that he hadn't heard from me and would be adding late fees (even though, again, I had emailed the day prior). Again, overall, the work on the project was great at a great value. The administrative actions? Horrendous. Adam really needs to get out of administrative duties and allow someone else to handle it since it's clearly not his forte. read more

I can't believe how easy it was to deal with Atomic! My wife and I bought a new house and needed some work done. The contractor we hired backed out on short notice, and Adam stepped up and made it work. He sent Luke out to coordinate the job and he excelled at every turn. Seems very tough nowadays for home contracting companies to follow through with the basics - answer the phone and do what they say they are going to do. I contacted three flooring contractors to get bids. Atomic Construction was the only company that answered the phone and didn't ask me to text them what I want so they can get back to me at a time convenient for them...(pretty wild that contractors are doing that...wish I could get away with that in my line of work). They sent out an estimator - John the same day. John sent me the electronic estimate within the timeframe he said he would. Atomic wasn't the cheapest bid among my three options but they proved their value and majored in the minors with basic customer service. Process was smooth from start to finish! read more

Let me start by saying our installer Daniel was phenomenal and did a fantastic job. BUT do yourself a favor and go with the other company. Adam is one of the most unprofessional "business owners" I've encountered. We had a couple cracks in our floor upon install that needed repair. We were told the cracks would be ground to level the floor and filled to keep from spreading. We agreed to the repair. However the repair was not done. Half way through the completion we noticed the grinding was not done to the level of work we were told. Instead a cloth membrane was placed and the install continued.... This is where our high hopes and level of respect as a customer turned for the worst with this company.... Our invoice came and we had a charge for 300$ labeled " grinding /crack repair... I reached out to Adam. He texted me saying he had no service and couldn't call. After back and for messages, sending him the pictures that I've attached below and being told he would get to the bottom of it, I received a call the next morning from a very defensive and rude business owner named Adam. He began to insult me and my wife claiming we were liars and "clearly know nothing about tile" he claimed he was insulted that I would question the integrity of his company's work. And proceeded to say "it's only 300$" Now, I don't know about anyone else. But I have a very hard time paying for a portion of a job that was never completed. After being hung up on by him twice, he did agree to remove the charge. However it's the process that occurred between us that has encouraged me to write this review. For a family owned company, I don't think it's good business practice to insult paying customers, hang up on them, and throw a childish fit over the phone all because you were caught lying about the work performed along with trying to charge for it. This review is way overdue because I was fortunate to work with Atomic on two occasions. The first one was for my entire condo in April of 2022 and the second one was on January 2023 for re-installing laundry floors due to the flood in my laundry room. When it comes to installing luxury vinyl flooring, Eric and Ruben are masters at this. From start to finish it was like watching a well rehearsed dance between these two. My title for Ruben would be a flooring artist! His precision cuts to fit crazy tight spaces were amazing! Eric was the strong man of the team. He carried the flooring up to our second floor, moved furniture, and kept the job clean, especially before they left each evening. He was a sweeping maniac! They worked every second they were on the job, informed and advised us about potential corner issues, and had wonderful "normal" personalities! :) We did have an issue on day one of the install. Adam, the owner, came himself to see the job. He looked over both issues, presented several options based on what was reasonable for humans to do, we picked one of the solutions and moved forward. My floors are beautiful! The 4" baseboard corner cuts are astounding! This is artistry at its best! If you can do better, then do it yourself because this is not an easy task that anybody can do. **Awesome craftsman, Poor management ** (2stars for the management part) From the beginning communication was a challenge. Everyone was wearing the bosses hat. Finally I got a hold of the owner adam. (at least he acted like an owner) who knows? There were a couple of things broken during the tile install and brought it to adam's attention. ("Oh I'm sorry there's nothing we can do about that"). Doesn't take any accountability for anything. Company as a whole is Disorganized. I couldn't pay my remaining balance fast enough to be done with this company. Chaos. Horrifying Communication. Not worth it. We hired this company for a small townhome Reno: floors, bathrooms. They quoted us one of the cheaper prices from about 8 other bids- I would've paid more knowing what I know now, and what we've been through. Chaos started right away with not starting on the promised date, pushing it back 3 weeks, then 5. The people that work at Atomic that we were trying to communicate with on this simple project kept changing! Everyone saying they would be our point person, and they would never follow through! Finally got in touch with the owner, promised us he would make it right, promised us he wouldn't charge us for anything outside the quote, never ended up following through on anything- and he himself was a challenge! He is super confrontational, even talking poorly about his workers, managers and admin staff, blaming them for all the miscommunication. Pure insanity. When they did start, there were days they didn't show up, missed the finish date, even installed the wrong tile on the shower floors! The attitude was like "well I didn't know"- I again asked for them to make it right somehow and pretend like our money meant something- the owner kept saying "stop trying to profit off of chaos" (???) and "we'll we are not Home Depot" (we aren't either). The company that they hire to do the actual work, Hector and his crew, we're cool when they did show up, but they never had any idea what was going on either. We are in escrow with another property and we did not hire them for the Reno on that project. I do not recommend this company at all. IF YOU DO HIRE THEM- GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING FROM THE START! We were green, and trusted what all the folks from Atomic were saying, which was very different every time we spoke. The owner denied what he had promised. It was insane. We even contacted a lawyer because it was so bananas what was going on. Greatest part was paying the bill and being rid of these people, the chaos, stress and bad energy- and sadly, not the Reno :( read more

We got the name of this company from Thumbtack. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. They said they were coming out to install our travertine tile tomorrow and they bailed on us today. They called today with some lame excuse saying we "slipped through the cracks" and they're not sure how we were told were scheduled because they only way that could happen in their fool proof system was if we had paid via their link. Well, folks, Brianna and Adam told us we were scheduled and told us they'd send the link AND THEY NEVER DID. We just assumed we'd pay when they got here. Now, 25% of our home is literally torn apart and we have NO ONE to lay this tile. THANKS Atomic Construction oh and THANKS Thumbtack - we will be recommending you to no one. We hired Atomic to remove ceramic tile and install vinyl flooring, and it was a disaster. Despite their promises, they did not take any measures to minimize the mess during removal. They didn't order enough flooring and sent just a single guy to do the install, so our "4-5 day" project took weeks. We immediately noticed several spots where the flooring was uneven and had to beg them to fix it. Throughout the process, we were made to feel that we were the problem, instead of the substandard flooring. We hoped that once it was done we would like the flooring, but no such luck. We have dead spots and sinkholes in several places and though our flooring is less than 6 months old we have corners coming up and falling apart already. RUN and RUN AWAY Fast...Hired this company to replace 15 osb sub flooring because current sub flooring was molded and dry rotted then they were to install 800+ square feet of luxury vinyl flooring.... They came out saw the rotted subfloors and said yes they would replace them prior to laying the new flooring at a charge of $800 and I agreed. The installer was suppose to be they installed that knew what needed to be done and the installer that came out and inspected the subfloor.... Well a different installer and his daughter showed up, the installer said the assigned installer was on a different project and unavailable and that he knew 15 sheets of OSB needed to be replaced. So I left for a few hours and when I came back none of the sub flooring had been replaced. I called Adam and he came out and replaced half a sheet and said the rest is fine missing the mold and dry rot. The installer came back the next day and finished the install. I complained about the sub flooring not being replaced and all I got was a childish response in several text messages from Adam. I spoke with the owner who texted me and demanded I call her and that she was an Attorney. She was ruder than Adam. Well less than one year later my sub flooring crumbled and the new flooring had to be pulled up and 15 osb boards were replaced and the flooring relaid which costed $3500.00 and to no avail Adam would not return my text in reference to his companies life time warrenty on installation. Very rude Management and Owner. I would run and run fast, they might have the best quote but the worst service. read more
