I started shopping at this store in 2000. Definitely a GREAT in-person record store (where you can check conditions in person), but I would avoid their eBay auctions (unless the record is sealed). Steve at Atomic sold me a Fugazi record that was listed as "near mint," but was VG at best. Surface wear on album and ring wear on album cover. The guys at Freakbeat Records (Sherman Oaks) jump through hoops when they incorrectly grade a record, but Steve was reluctant to do anything when I spoke to him on the phone. Not sure if he was just distracted while grading, but a monkey could have done a better grading job than Steve did on this one. Methinks Steve might be suffering from a "holier than thou" attitude. He even mentioned while I was speaking with him that he was dealing with another person trying to return a record? Not a great sign. Again, in person shopping? Go for it. Avoid their eBay listings. My feedback is flawless and I'm not a scammer. Rick, take heed and keep your eye on Steve. I won't be coming back.

Plenty of items to dig through.

If you are looking for hard to find vinyls, then this is the place! I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked in that they had an entire wall dedicated to hard to find pressings. Prices are marked reasonably considering the quality. The rest of the store was well organized and had a great selection of items to dig through. By the looks of the boxes at the front counter, new inventory comes in daily. This has been one of the best vinyl stores I've been to in this area. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I left with so much good stuff and it is now on my list to visit anytime I'm in the area.

Love this store. Came in on a whim a few weeks ago looking for movies. They have a bunch. Some are unopened and new. They have really reasonable prices. Owners were fun to talk to. They were really nice one day and because I bought so much stuff they kept the store open for an extra twenty minutes. It looked their music selections where huge. The have CD's, cassettes tapes, vinyl, vhs tapes, DVD's, Blu-ray's, and some 4Ks. Average price for dvds was between $3to $10, Blu-rays $4 to $12, 4ks were up to $12 for unopened.

Decided to unload the vast collection of CD's and DVDs I have to clear out some clutter for the new year. I stopped by Atomic with the intention of dropping off some items but I left out with a bag. With a wide selection of music and movies, you are sure to find what you are looking for, in different formats. Atomic Records is a one stop shop

Face Masks Required!

The Golden God meets the Vinyl God of Atomic Records in Burbank CA! AWSOME! Browsing through endless vinyl the owner Steve who appears to be very much aware of his clientele, but I think he couldn't figure us out so he asked a few times if we are looking for anything in particular if he could help. It wasn't until I paid for my LPs that he shared with me two pictures of when Robert Plant came into the store. He even let me take a picture of his picture on his cellphone! The story behind the photos is Steve's to tell. But yes Robert Plant in a face mask too! Yes face masks are required he is very strict on this. The inventory is amazing I picked up 5 LPs and a CD. There is apparently a "back room" of blues vinyl, I only had an hour to spend inside I will be back soon with no time restrictions.

Who knew Michael Bolton's birth name is Michael Bolotin? I was forbidden to purchase this horrific treasure though...

Found some great Jazz records here last week. Although a little pricey for a used records, the selection is pretty good.

Shopping in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California…read more.. Somehow, I found free street parking on Hollywood Boulevard, almost right in front of Amoeba Music... It's an iconic place. I thought that I should look around inside... Wow... It has everything... jazz, top 40, soul, hip hop, ethnic music, CDs, vinyl, movies, used, new, merchandise, and more! I was truthfully overwhelmed. I will be back when I'm more focused and have more time! Note: Amoeba Music is also in San Francisco and Berkeley.

I've barely begun to dip my toe into deep appreciation of physical music mediums, and accompanied my wife here on her birthday search for a few specific vinyls and CDs. My search was narrow, hoping for a Odesza vinyl. I found two vinyls from the A Moment Apart album I was in search for with one being a used copy in a deep sea foam color while the other was a clear vinyl. Because I knew nothing about vinyls, I went to the front desk where Kelly took the time to show me how; 1) properly remove vinyls from their sleeve, 2) the direction to clean vinyls using a microfiber cloth, 3) check downs to go through when inspecting a used vinyl, and 4) in why's behind inspecting vinyls the way she recommended. In taking the time to show me how to check 3 separate clearance vinyls, I felt even more stoked about my Odesza used vinyl find as it was fun colored vinyl not yet in our collection and in beautiful condition. Kelly - thank you for not being a gatekeeper. You rock!

We thought Licorice Pizza is a pop-up store in Studio City in conjunction with the new P. T…read more Anderson movie. So we stopped by today to check it out while running errands in the area. We were wrong! We started to chat with the nice folks working behind the counter and they told us that it is a coincidence. This store has nothing to do with the movie. But they do want to continue the name, legacy of the original Licorice Pizza store. Till the settle they rights, this store is called Licorice Pizza Records at Hear We Are. We are happy to have a new record store in the Valley after many cool ones closed and it was painful to witness. They sell a bit of everything: vinyl, books, t-shirts, merchandise that could make a great gift or souvenir. They also have a pin ball machine if you want to play and try it! My husband found a cool coollection of Chandler's work so he was happy to add a new book to our collection (we are addicted to books and proud of it!). Fun store to explore and shop at right next to Art's deli. Parking? Street parking, some lots around as well. If you're local, you'll manage. Great addition to Ventura Blvd. and to the Valley. Nice to see a new indie record store around!

Looks and feels like a messy unorganized cash grab. On Wednesday it seemed like the two kids behind the desk were bewildered, as if they hadn't worked a job before. I hope whatever business lies beyond that clear glass door is more competent than this wannabe record store. Their website is an obvious skin on top of a third party distributor. Nothing here is authentic to a real Licorice Pizza. I mean what record store neglects so many genres? If you genuinely like this place you're either a sucker for bs nostalgia or new to record collecting.
