I'd been wanting to replace my screens for years because the previous owners of my home had cats that had torn a few of them. On top of that I had my windows cleaned a couple of years ago and the window cleaner apologized for not being able to clean the screens; he said he had a machine he would normally run them through but that mine were so old and brittle his machine would destroy them. So I finally decided to move forward with this project, and after doing a fair amount of online research I decided to contact A to Z Window Screens. The estimator that came out to the house was very friendly, and got right to work. I had him measure every screen on the house, including my sliding screen door that would stick half-open about 60% of the times I'd try to open it. He explained all the options regarding screen types and how A to Z makes their screens so that there is no bowing or warping of them, and he also showed me how they index the various screens on the house so that if you needed a replacement for one in the future you could call and tell them "I need a replacement for screen #7" and they would have all the information needed to start right away from their estimator's visit. I must say, the price for rescreening everything on the house was much less frightening than I thought it would be, so I took the leap and committed with a 10% deposit. I also asked if they would clean my dryer vent since it had been awhile and I noticed that they did that work too. About 3 weeks went by and I received a call telling me that my screens were ready. I also had 90 days from this time to find a convenient time for me to have them installed. We agreed on a date, and a day or two before then I received an email and a text telling me all about the installer that would be arriving at my house - Ricardo. Ricardo showed up on time and promptly parked where he would block my wife's car from leaving the garage shortly thereafter. I walked outside, introduced myself, and explained the situation. He happily moved the truck to the other half of the driveway. I gave him time to get organized, then he came to the door and explained the installation process to me. He first laid all of the new screens out where they would be installed, and then got to work replacing the old one with the new ones. Thankfully he took the old ones with him for disposal, so I didn't have to deal with that. A bit after starting installation Ricardo came to the door again and explained to me that there were a lot of wasps buzzing under the eaves near some of the second-story windows he needed to replace the screens on. He asked if it would be alright for him to replace those screens from inside, and I agreed since there was already a screen he needed to do that for because of a large tree right outside the window housing the screen. We managed to pull off the installation with no wasps getting inside and no one getting stung, so both of us were happy. Ricardo finished installing the screens, including the door, and was ready to tackle the dryer vent at that point. I explained what I thought was the best path to access the second story roof to him, and wished him luck because we have one of the world's smallest laundry rooms and Ricardo was sort of a big guy to be fitting in the space that is left with the washer and dryer in there. Undaunted, he went upstairs and got the dryer unhooked and his wetvac going. Then he went up on the roof to auger the dryer vent out from there into the wetvac. When I asked him how bad it was afterward he said that the dryer hose connecting to the wall was plugged with lint but not even hooked to the exit vent in the laundry room, so the wall vent was fine. He hooked everything back up, used duct tape to ensure it didn't come loose again, and explained that I cannot move the dryer from where he left it or it will either pinch the flexible hose between dryer and wall or disconnect again. All in all it was a seamless, smooth experience having both the screens (and sliding door, which has not jammed once since replacement) installed and also having the dryer vent cleaned. After seeing their billboards & talking to a neighbor who used their services, we went online to request a free estimate for a Titan security screen door. We received a call back to schedule a day & 2-hour window of time. Harrison came to do the estimate & was so friendly, respectful, & comfortable to work with. He was informative, helpful, & offered suggestions. He brought along samples of colors & materials, but mostly had photos to show. There are lots of options for styles, color, & hardware. We were decisive in our design choices, so it was a fairly easy & quick experience. Pricing was transparent. He explained the process & timeline, & encouraged us to contact him with any questions. We needed a custom size & were given an 8-12 week timeline, but after 6 weeks, we got a call that it was ready. Luckily, we were able to schedule installation the next day. We were told to expect it to take 3 hours. Ricardo came on a cold & rainy day to do the install. He was personable, explained the process, & showed us how the door functioned. There was a small issue regarding the paint color for some bolts to match our door, but he was meticulous about making sure it was done correctly. It ended up taking around 4 hours. A cute touch is that the company sends a text with a photo & bio of the employees when they're on their way. We now have a stylish screen door that provides security, bug-proofing, & privacy when we want some fresh air. The entire process was very straightforward. We're very satisfied customers. read more

Good communication and prompt arrival to our initial appointment. We had to check back a couple of times to get an update and install appointment but this was well within the anticipated timeframe we were given. We have retrofit windows that needed the sunscreens and the first set of screens didn't fit quite right but the company sent someone out right away to inspect and order new screens in a slightly different size. The new order was rushed and the screens look great! We immediately noticed a change in the temperature in the rooms that get full afternoon sun and we still have a great view out to the yard and street. The screens we ordered have framing to match the framework in our windows on the front of the house. If you want cooling shade screens that are attractive I wouldn't hesitate to go to A to Z. Can I give negative five? They only get a one because that's the lowest I can give. The doors (French security screen doors) were nice. The installation was very bad. They were installed so that they didn't close all the way at the top, leaving a narrow 'V" that bugs could get through. When they came back to fix it, the installer blamed the wood frame onto which onto which he mounted the doors, saying that was the best he could do. He just put a strip of foam there, which will soon crumble in the heat and impedes the smooth closing of the door. I spent a lot of money and it should have been done right for that price. I am extremely disappointed to say the least. read more

After purchasing sun screens for our south facing windows last year, we decided to go ahead and complete the kitchen area with a sun screen for the west facing window. My old sliding screen door was bad! Would always stick, get stuck, leave a gap when trying to close. When it did work ok it wasn't smooth and had small tears from over the years. I ended up going with A to Z for a custom screen that had a built-in doggie door! This thing is buttery smooth. The rollers are heavy duty, the locking mechanism is metal instead of plastic and the screen itself is pet screen. Which I didn't know existed. It's very durable and almost tear proof. It has some flex to it which is nice. Best part is that it actually works like a screen should. From start to finish a to z had me taken care of with options, estimate, fabrication, communication and installation.The installer, Ricardo S., was very friendly and a master of his craft. A slight adjustment here and there after install and my screen was perfect. He explained the warranty, what cleaner and lubricant to use and left his personal number if I had any questions. Sadly we had to cut down a shade tree due to sewage problems. A-Z screens came to our rescue once again. To help with the summer heat we had 90% sunscreens installed on 3 windows. Terrible service and installation. I purchased 5 screens for nearly $1000 and told the technician to please remove the temporary solar screens I taped using double sided tape. He installed the screens and left my windows with double sides tape on them. What professional company allows this type of sloppy install. They also destroyed my bug screens during removal as well. Not even a professional window cleaning company destroyed them. I would give them less than a one if I could. This company overcharges and their management sticks up for their technicians and not their customer base. Please be aware that there are other companies out there that will charge half the price and listen to their customer wishes. read more
