Two staff members are to care for, bathe, feed, clean up after, and so on, 15 elderly who need a lot of support. The food is extremely unhealthy. No fresh vegetables and no fresh fruits. Most foods are greasy and overly salted. "Fruit" is canned and mixed in cool whip substance, and vegetables are from a can. Medical decisions are not in line with current medical protocols. If you place someone here, consider supplementing with a private assistant. Many of the reviews are culled as soon as someone places a person at the facility. Reviews are not offered after residents have been at the facility for a while. After my parent passed away, we did not receive a card or any kind of acknowledgement.

I've spent copious amounts of time "shopping around" for just the right fit for each of them since they all had varying degrees of needs. The sales professional I first met with, Stephanie, helped me get my parents settled into memory care and she was extremely efficient in making the process smooth and easy for me. As my father had to transition out to a hospital and then a hospice care facility the caregiving team at Allegro North Tampa were more like family as they helped me in each and every way during that stressful time. As it became necessary to relocate my mother-in-law from another small ALF that was not meeting her needs, I was so blessed to find Monica, as our sales professional. Monica was so precious to me personally with the meticulous way she tried her best to assist our family down to each and every detail! We needed to quickly relocate my mother-in-law and she figured out a plan so my mom and MIL could share adjoining suites and be close to one another and she made all of this happen quickly! The caregivers in memory care are absolutely fantastic! My life is so much easier because of their level of care and concern for my loved ones. These caregivers are the men and women who tirelessly give my mother & mother-in-law the type of individualized care that is desperately needed because of their level of dementia and Alzheimer's. I've witnessed so much personalized love and attention provided to our family and to the other residents and I marvel at how well the caregivers recognize when someone just needs a simple hug or a smile or a gesture of love that can change a senior's attitude in a split second. That only comes because the caregivers spend quality time interacting with the residents and actually know them as people. Transitions are never easy, but the fabulous staff at Allegro North Tampa honestly care! Before falling she was dressing g herself , eating f herself, able to walk and go to bathroom herself. After the fall she is now pretty much incapacitated and is either in a chair or bed all day. She can no longer walk around d. The point is that the place was great while she was able to do all those things herself. Now that she needs help for everything g it's just as bad as all the other places out there. Crappy help that they are afraid of because they can't afford to have them leave so they cater to the help Instead of to the patients. It's not as bad as other places though. But it's also not cheap.

The staff is wonderful and very caring, from the medical staff to the cleaning staff; everyone watches out for the residents and shows them respect in spite of their disease. The place is clean. The ambulance people had to wait while they actually made the bed she was admitted to. TWO HOURS later, sick as a dog...not a SINGLE Nurse, CNA or staff member had been to see her. TWO HOURS she sat sick, and alone. We had to physically go confront them at 9:00PM to get staff to her. They took Her a sandwich. They did not change her out of her hospital gown- they did no medical care and did not even administer ANY of her meds that night nor the next morning.. NUMEROUS calls by numerous concerned family we're unanswered, and not one single call back. By the next morning my elderly mother was begging us to get her out of there and we called to let them know we were coming to remove her to please make the necessary arrangements. Once again FOUR hours worth of phone calls were unanswered and not a single call back. We literally had to show up at the place and threaten to call the sheriff. Unfortunately once we were able to get her out of the place we had to contact them to get an order for home health care which is where we brought her and the administrator of the facility told our Home Care Case Manager they C OULD write the order but THEY would NOT. Even after denying her basic medical/human care they refused to assist my mother in getting HOME HEALTH CARE! They said they COULD but they WOULDN'T.
