Had an incredible time here. Like most people have mentioned, it's a speakeasy and it's super small. On a Friday night around 8pm, we had an hour wait, but they take your phone number so you can leave and come back. All 4 people in my group told our waiter what we liked and they brought out our first round drinks and everyone loved them. Everyone ordered a second drink which was different than the first and enjoyed those as well. The drinks were $18 a piece. Overall, this is a super unique experience and I'd recommend it if you're adventurous when it comes to drinking. read more

This cocktail bar is located close to our apartments/hotel. Every night we would see A-line outside the door and people putting their nails on a list. After checking out Yelp we discovered that this was a must go to spot. After a full day I'm drinking and having fun we decided to go to this cocktail lounge on our way home. We were in luck because there wasn't a waiting list and we were able to get it in period I will say even after we got in people continue To stream and. We arrived shortly after midnight and it was still pretty going in there. The atmosphere in ambience was chill the lighting was low. Our server was really nice. He was able to offer drink alternatives. We ordered a twist on an old fashioned a twist on a French 75 and a classic whiskey sour. Our drinks were so good and I wish I'd like to came earlier in the evening to actually enjoy them versus when I had the strength I was probably already on one. All and all we had a really good experience. We enjoy the cocktail lounge. I would definitely come back if back in the area. Came here after having dinner in the area and absolutely fell in love with Attaboy! I am not from Nashville and was in town visiting and was so excited to find this place! It's a speakeasy- at the front door you ring the bell and someone will come to let you in. Once inside the space is very cool. Darkly lit (but not too dark!) with a sort of, 1960s/70s southwestern vibe. There is no cocktail menu here and the bartenders will ask for what you would like to drink and then they make it for you! I ordered a classic martini and the bartender also made me a twist on a French 75. The cocktails were amazing. I still think about this place a lot and wish I had it back home. A true speakeasy. Tucked away and doesn't stand out, no handle on the outside of the door, password entry only, and only opened by a doorman whenever a guest leaves. Once inside it's very dark, with only the bar illuminated. We were in a group of 4 and we got to sit in a private booth. There's no menu, which was actually fun while admittedly a little nerve-wrecking for someone who isn't super cocktail savvy. The server asks you your preferences and helps guide you to a drink order. The drinks we were brought certainly did not disappoint, far from it. The server takes your feedback from the first drinks to help make an even better drink order for your second, and third drink, and so on. And trust me, you're going to want more than one. The bartenders are next level. Just by saying the type of alcohol you like, drinks you like, and saying what to stay away from, they created incredible drinks for us. Our group of 6 waited two hours to get in on a Friday night. We saw many smaller groups get in ahead of us and even walk right in without waiting. We had non-white people in our group who felt discriminated against. The speak easy is set up so that you have to wait outside until the hostess opens the locked door to put your name in and then they text you when your table is ready. They won't give you a time estimate, only the amount of groups ahead of you. Once in, the bartender will ask you what you like and make you a drink based on your preferences. None of us were impressed with our drinks and two of us didn't like our drinks. One left her drink full and it was not acknowledged. Service was very unfriendly and almost rude. It almost feels like they don't try to make it a good experience because they don't have to. One of our friends was given a drink with gin in it when she specifically said no gin. The bar tender told her "you asked for gin". Even if she may have misheard my friend, that is rude and poor customer service. If a place had great service and drinks, the two hour wait would've been worth it. Drinks were $18 each before tip. The ambiance was a dark secluded room with cool lights. Our booth was a nice shape but had torn up cushions. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends. read more

Fashioned similar to a true speakeasy from the 1920's. You need to knock on the door to see if there is room to enter as they only allow people in based on the number of chairs ... no standing around. There are no menus and not all the typical alcohol such as no vodka. The bartender who is now called a Mixologist comes to the table and asked about your likes and dislikes then goes to create you your own personal drink. Our mixologist hit about an 80% mark on our table of 6. Truly a fun and unique experience. Also they are up for a James Beard award, fingers crossed that they get it. read more

We visited Nashville for my bachelorette party (as many soon-to-be brides do) and had a bartender at another spot in the area recommend that we stop by Attaboy. This is your classic Speakeasy experience. From the outside, it doesn't look like there's much to it, but on the inside, there's a cozy, dimly lit lounge that's simply oozing "cool." Our waiter was incredibly friendly - he explained to us how the process works in detail. There is no menu ... at least, not one that the guests ever get to see. You describe what type of drinks you typically order - and then they make you something special. It's fun, personal, and experiential. Honestly ... I'd compare it to taking a Buzzfeed quiz on "Which craft cocktail are you?" but at the end of the quiz, you actually get to enjoy the cocktail. Everyone in my group loved their personalized drinks - and the price for the experience and the vibes was well worth it. There's no rush for you to give up your table to the next people on the waitlist - in fact, our bartender asked if we'd all like to try another drink. A lot of low reviews do not understand how this bar works. It's fantastic for what it is and it doesn't pretend to be something it's not. First: To my best understanding, this bar has four types of seating. This bar will not allow more people inside than it has seats or booths. 1. Bar seating is only for parties of 1-2 (there are about 14 seats) 2. Booths are for parties of 3-4 (there are four booths) 3. The "private room" is for parties of 5-6 (there is only one of these) 4. "Indoor waiting" can seat up to six, one party of two and one party of four. They'll bring you in and get you a drink and then move you to group 1 or 2 Second: There is a camera that looks out to the line waiting outside. You cannot let yourself in because they control the seating very carefully. Third: the "wait list": you're waiting for your party size seating arrangement to open. It doesn't matter if you are first in the wait list with a party of four, you won't be seated until one of the ONLY FOUR booths opens up. Doesn't matter if the bar opens, you will not be seated there. Fourth: this bar does not have vodka. All mixed drinks are $18 each. Lastly: I do not recommend Attaboy as a "mid evening" bar because of the limited seating and unknown wait time. I recommend you get there 10-15 minutes before it opens and wait in line.
