    What's up doc and mocktail
    Tanya H.

Nice vibes but the cocktails were really just okay, especially for the price. We were staying at the Joseph and had some credits to spend but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this bar. My bf got the what's up doc (carrot based drink) and the bartender had a really difficult time with the carrot garnish which put him behind. We felt so bad but it was a bit awkward to watch him go through 2 carrots for our garnish. I do appreciated them making all the drinks fresh and chopping up the ingredients in front of us but I would recommend them prepping enough ingredients so they wouldn't have to slice and chop fruits/veggies as it really delays the service for other guests. Perhaps they could get a nice mandolin slicer for the bartender if they're expected to cut it in front of guests.

This is my kinda cocktail bar! Cool entrance, dim lighting, loungey vibe, beautiful menu, talented bar team, tasty cocktails. The Velvet Reserve- a cognac stirred cocktail smoked with sandalwood was sexy and smooth. Recommend.

Extremely knowledgeable, kind, courteous, and accommodating bartenders. They ask you the right questions to understand your flavor profile before crafting an off menu cocktail for you. Had a great experience. Will definitely be back.

    The Gondola

This hidden speakeasy was down a hidden elevator and down a dark hallway to a dark cozy bar. The menu is definitely unique we had the special The Gondola, A Violet Beauregard, and a Gin with house made tonic (watermelon lemongrass). The bartenders were pleasant but the main bartender was very focused on conversations with the other bartenders instead of the guest. The drinks were not for my taste but if you like unique and adventurous cocktails definitely try this out. I recommend everyone at least experiencing this place one. Very cool vibe. Fun bathrooms.

This is such a cute little bar in downtown. Once you enter the Joseph hotel You have to take a specific elevator from the lobby to get you to the bar. It's very small, intimate, perfect for a date night (heads up they only have alcohol) there's like 3 food items on their menu but they are overpriced snacks and not substantial. Anyway back to the cocktails: AMAZING. This is true mixology where the server will take his time to perfect the perfect mix. They even brand the ice cube with a 4 walls emblem. Very unique and delicious! Will def be back.

The bar tender, Lawson, makes the best mai tais I've ever had in Tennessee. Come check it out

    Spicy Corn Nuts

Small hidden bar on 2nd floor of The Joseph with fun craft cocktails and light snacks. We had a couple of drinks here before dinner and they were delicious. Also, we couldn't resist the spicy cornuts, which were tasty if you can handle the heat. Definitely recommend this place for a few pre or post dinner cocktails.

You access the elevator in lobby with a wiggly line symbol to go to the 2nd floor. I recommend booking a reservation if on a weekend or busy holiday. The interior was very moody and dark. It's a very small space. We asked to sit at the bar and were told no, it's reserved. I asked how do you reserve the bar specifically since I made reservations and that wasn't an option, but she wouldn't say. There were about 6 empty bar seats at that time. I found it weird and felt awkward with the interaction. Maybe it's on me - maybe I did something wrong or didn't do something I was supposed to. I have no idea - I don't usually go to places such as this. We had to wait a bit for a menu. Once we ordered our drinks the hostess came back and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar since a reservation had cancelled. So we moved. Again, just a bit weird. I appreciated her asking us though. The bartenders were very no nonsense. Kinda stern and expected you to know your stuff...cause I asked if I could order off menu and for them to just make me something sweet and tropical but he just told me to try one off the menu that was a dessert drink. We must have different opinions on sweet but it was ok. We left after 2 drinks. I probably wouldn't come back here, but I think if you're into speakeasy's and know the etiquette that I clearly lack, you will enjoy this place.

Tucked into the 2nd floor of The Joseph, Four Walls serves creative cocktails crafted by exacting bartenders who help set the ultra-cool lounge tone. The bar is relatively small, creating an intimate setting for relaxing conversation while sipping delicious libations. Enter from the inside of the hotel - not from the street - where your door-opening causes light and street noise to interrupt the vibe. Don't harsh the mellow.

I am a cocktail enthusiast, and when I travel I do my research- I had high hopes for this bar but I was very disappointed with not one cocktail but all three. The cocktails look pretty but that's all you'll get, Nashville has so many other amazing bars- i highly recommend you going elsewhere. Service was also not what I expected, the person that took our order looked miserable and did not care to explain anything. Ambiance was okay, nothing special

We went in the afternoon so it was pretty quiet still, but the bar tenders were friendly and helpful. And although I'm not a huge tequila fan, I was impressed with my drink. We walked in around 5:00 PM, and there were very few people in the bar. We had a party of six, so we sat down at a table and waited. After sitting there for a while without anyone coming over, I finally went to the bar. Shortly after that, a waitress came to our table, so I went back and we placed our order. Then came another long wait, we waited about 20 minutes just to get our drinks, even though the bar was nearly empty. On the bright side, the drinks were great. I ordered an El Carajillo, and it was really good! The horchata crème in it was SOOOO good and definitely the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the service issues continued. When the waitress brought the check for me to sign, I realized she had not returned my credit card. I had to track her down to get it back, and while doing so, I ran into another customer who had experienced the exact same thing. They have great drinks and normally provide a good experience, so hopefully this was just an off night. But on this particular Friday evening, with the bar barely occupied, the service definitely missed the mark.

The Ariston - Fully stocked humidor with a variety of premium cigars

Staff at the humidor offered zero guidance or recommendations. Drinks were forgettable, and we had to fetch them ourselves from the bar like we were at a college sports pub instead of an upscale cigar lounge. Then came the cigars. We were left to cut and light them ourselves, which would've been fine if every disposable torch in the place wasn't nearly empty or completely out of butane. Nothing says 'premium lounge experience' quite like fighting for a working lighter. To top it off, the moment a large group walked in, the bartender started loudly screaming out drink orders across the room. The entire atmosphere instantly shifted from refined cigar lounge to livestock auction barn. This place is living off the reputation of what Blend used to be.
