Stopped in on travel. The waitress suggested the daily special, which turned out to be the Catfish plate we were already thinking about. Great for what it is. They give you a lot of comfort food for a low price. Three of my party had the $9.99 chicken special, each of which had three leg and thigh quarters, 2 sides, and cornbread. The chicken was good but the breading was a little bland for me. I had the catfish plate, which was 2 good sized pieces of catfish, a small cole slaw, and 2 sides. The fish was cooked perfectly. The green beans were slow cooked with bacon and were very good. The fries were crispy and delicious. My son had the po' boy, and he liked that, too. Went here on a weekday for lunch. Be aware there are no entrees that are vegetarian or vegan. I had a couple of sides instead. The macaroni and cheese used velveeta cheese so it wasn't that good. The baked potato wasn't great either. One person had the American burger and said it was ok, but had an odd taste she had to get used to. The guys liked their food at least and helped finish off my food. Thursdays their burgers are on a discounted price so it's a better value then. First time visit for me and i have to say i was very surprised. Everything was positively amazing. I just had a grilled chicken ceasar salad but the chicken in it was perfect. My friend had the Poe Boy with Mac and Cheese. We also had the porkbelly sliders which were not exactly what we were expecting but were insanely good. I would definitely not recommend Attaboys. This is my 2nd review for Attaboys and I have to say, I'm not impressed. We had a large group go on a Tuesday evening. My daughter in law called several days ahead to let them know when we were coming and how many there would be, roughly 20 people. We arrived and there were people at 2 other tables. 1 waiter came to take all of our drink orders. He started at the other end. Those people got their drinks in about 15 minutes. After 1/2 an hour I finally flagged him down to see where the drinks were for the 6 at the other end of the long table. I was informed that they had run out of glasses and had to wait on other people to leave before they could get our drinks. It took nearly 45 minutes to get a drink and our orders were not taken yet. The little kids were getting restless. Finally, after an hour our orders were taken. Again, the people at the other end of the table got their food well before us. A couple who had come in well after us had received their order and left during this process. The amount of food on the other end of the table was what I have heard about, big bowls of mac and cheese, large portions of fries and side dishes and 2 pork chops with the meal. We waited while the rest of the table started eating. Finally, our meals came out. What a difference. I had 1 pork chop that was so thin you could see through it, 4 pieces of sweet potatoes, and 8 noodles with my mac and cheese. Down the table, the mac and cheese was over flowing the dishes. Other people had 2 pork chops. My 4 year old grandson had at least 10 pieces of sweet potatoes my husband had less than a handful of fries while they were falling off the plate at the other end. My mother in law had a salad and it was the very last item served. It Reno cooking, at all. The only reason I'm giving them a 2 is because the flavors of the food were good. The service was terrible. Everyone was focused on the biggest group of 14 who were on 1 check and left the remaining 6 of us to just fall by the wayside. I'm normally a 33% tipper but I only tipped 20% that night and I almost didn't tip that much. There is never a reason to run out of cups. Go to GFS and buy some disposable cups for emergencies. No waiter should take care of a 20 top table by himself. That was too much for him to handle. If they ran out of food, then 86 it and let me choose something else. I would have happily taken a cup of soup. Instead, we paid the full amount and then stopped on our way home to grab a sandwich because we had not eaten all day and our meals were abysmal. At this point, I would not recommend Attaboys!! read more

My wife and I want to try somewhere different today so we took off towards Marion. I used Yelp to search for steak houses in Marion and Attaboys was near the top of the list. When we walked in, the young man at the hostess stand, seem to have a little trepidation, but eventually took us to a table. The dining room and bar area looked very well kept and the restrooms were clean! After waiting what seemed like a significant amount of time, we were greeted by our waitress. She asked what we would like to drink. My wife asked for an iced tea, and I asked what beers they had looking while looking for a list. She informed me there was no list and started to rattle off a few beers and then told me I could just get up and walk to the bar to take a look. When the waitress came back with my wife's iced tea, we ordered fried pickles and I asked for a Samuel Adams. The waitress walked by us and I remarked I'll have a glass with that beer, please and she looked at me and asked what beer? I asked for Samuel Adams again. She stopped by and we gave her our order, hey smothered pork chop for my wife and the chicken seafood gumbo for me. She stopped by again and asked us about our order for clarity. Third time was a charm when she stopped by yet again clarifying our order. At that point, she told us that it might be a few minutes as everything was made fresh, and we acknowledge that. Our food came out fresh from the kitchen. Pork chop was huge and tasty. My seafood and chicken gumbo was very good. The menu noted the gumbo came with crab legs. Actually it was the crab leg tips at the very end of the leg, not enough to get excited about due to the effort. I must say I also enjoyed the collard greens that came with my dish. I sampled my wife's pork chop, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. The green beans seemed to have come from a can, but did have a reasonable flavor to them. Macaroni and cheese was fairly pedestrian. Believe we might try them one more time to ensure this was not a one off. read more

Service - it was slow on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was very attentive (awesome service) Food - I was suorised that it was very good. Now this is not fair but I ordered something quirky - Philly Cheesesteak Baked Potato and it was really good. My buddy liked his chicken. We both liked the chips and queso. All the food was prepared well and we enjoyed it please note all the dishes were under $10 (Chicken was the special and normally ~$14. I thought it was an awesome value. Ambiance - it was very quiet. This turned in to a 7 min phone call and said they didn't know if they sold such thing, had to ask the management, they was not sure.i was given a price of $20 and $22. Stopped here on the way to Columbus after seeing the reviews on Yelp. The fried pickles were phenomenal. Great taste. Definitely a 5. The potato soup was so good, was just missing something. Would love some chopped green onion on top. But otherwise the flavor was awesome. 4.5 The southern fried honey chicken sandwich is ... oh my Lordy... so damn good. It's big too. So unbelievably good. The breading was enough. The chicken was plentiful. The honey sauce was amazing. The side of Mac was good too. Total 5. Prices are decent and service was friendly. A happy find in downtown Marion Ohio. This historic location has a refreshing take on southern menu. Food and service is excellent, would return here if in the area without hesitation. The portions here are on the large side - suitable for sharing or the best leftovers you can imagine. Location: 289 W Center St, Marion, OH 43302 Menu: several Yelp reviews have a photo of the menu - essentially southern fare meets steakhouse with a bypass at a bar with a fryer. Price: moderate to expensive; the steaks are on the higher end of the menu but entrees, sandwiches, and salads are all well under $20. Parking: plenty of free street parking available within 1 block of this location. In town for a performance competition, we found this spot for lunch thanks to fellow Yelpers (thanks, everyone!). What a great find for our party of 3. Our orders: 1) Southern-fried chicken with collard greens, loaded baked potato. 2) Southern-fried chicken with sweet potatoes, green beans 3) Gumbo with shrimp, sausage, crab and a side of collard greens. Tip: study the menu. Every sandwich and entree comes with one side; many selections come with two sides. I highly recommend the collard greens. The fried chicken is quite good. Not overly battered - there is a very light coating on the pieces (one breast, two legs were served on both orders - not sure if this varies or not; have to admit I'm always a little sad when I don't get at least one thigh) - the chicken was tender and juicy and perfectly prepared. The kitchen also made a small batch of spicy honey for our table - a really nice touch and impressive "yes" when we asked if they had any spicy honey available. For me the real star was the collard greens - the perfect smoky bite thanks to the meat cooked with the greens pairing beautifully with a bite of vinegar and finished with a light heat from the seasoning. I savored a bite of the gumbo. Really nice flavor and also cooked perfectly. I think I would either try the shrimp & grits or the gumbo next. There were several other entrees which also caught my attention and I've read rave reviews about the sandwiches and french fries. I must admit I'm intrigued by the steaks because I did not get a "steakhouse vibe" from the restaurant but they delivered really well on our orders, I'd consider a steak for an evening meal if I find myself back in Marion. read more

Took our family out to Atta Boys and was not overly impressed. When you walk in the floor is sticky- your shoes literally stick to the ground. AttaBoys is one of the top choices of places I am willing to eat in Marion. They have some of the best food, and their portions are huge! There is enough for at least two meals, or a very full uncomfortable (happy) belly in one sitting. They have appetizer options that you can try samplers of two or three appetizers for a good price. The fried green tomatoes are a must try. The chicken and waffles, and po boy sandwich are both are delicious as well. I have been a fan of all the food I have got to try so far! read more

Had dinner there 7/18/24. Place was quaint. Food was hit or miss. Appetizers were good, very limited bar options, nice staff, although inexperienced. Other than steaks, food was priced ok. I'm not kidding when I say the two $30 ribeyes at our table were less than a HALF INCH thick. I've had ham slices much thicker. You wouldn't expect a capital grill steak but would hope for something at least in the ballpark of an outback. read more

The food was amazing party of six and absolutely everything was delicious! Staff was very pleasant and friendly.

When we arrived we were greeted, but our host, who was also our waitress didn't have anything close to a welcoming attitude. Our drinks were taken quickly, but then it took awhile for our waitress to come back out and take our order. I ordered a Filet mignon medium rare, with mac n cheese & fries. My steak was medium well. After our food was brought, our waitress came over one time long enough to know that I hadn't received my fries. The second time she came over to our table was to tell me that my fries were still cooking. The third time she came to the table she gave me my fries, 20 minutes after my other food had been brought out; and my fries were nearly burnt. The mac n cheese was good, and the steak was ok-just over cooked. The service we received from our server tonight was not good at all. I watched a couple come into the restaurant 30 minutes after us, and they received their check and were on their way long before I received mine. Their waitress checked on them many times to make sure everything was okay, and that is the service I expect from every waitress. My waitress went to the bathroom more times than she made sure our food was good! Not a good experience due to service. read more

Today was my third visit since the place opened. It will be my last. All 3 times service has been poor. It took about 40 minutes to receive our food. There was 3 other occupied tables and two other servers. Our server today had an attitude. We had to ask her for refills. She acted like we inconvenienced her. I had to ask for a spoon for my soup. It took 5 minutes to get the spoon. Not impressed with the food at all. The ranch and buffalo sauce tasted off... like it was going bad. The shrimp and grits come in a large bowl with three small shrimp. The potato soup is decent. You might want to eat your food kind of fast though. All three times I've been here the place has been chilly and the food got cold quick. The atmosphere isn't very friendly. The place is on the cold side (temperature and service). It is expensive. The food quality is sub-par. I would never choose to eat here again, nor will I recommend it. read more

We had wanted to try this placr for awhile, but with covid we had not. We were so happy when we got the chance! The greens were so delicious, I pondered drinking the broth from the bowl- I used the spoon instead. The shrimp and grits were a huge surprise- I mean it is Marion, Ohio- not a beach town. I embroidered say I caught myself making happy little noises to the point my husband said he had try it. As I was finishing up I caught him staring at my plate so I shared the last few bites.
