Looking for a place with nice bartenders and cheap drinks? Don't go to the Attic.... They do serve food which is a nice touch, and usually have plentiful seating. They have pool and some bowling video game, however it's a small space that quickly gets crowded, the bartenders have always been extremely rude, and the drinks are ridiculously overpriced considering. I'm giving it three, instead of four, because of the service. The server wasn't rude, but she didn't seem to have any personality and it dragged down the vibe a little. I ordered our favs Fish and Chips, Classic Burger, salad and cheesecake, always perfect! However, I ordered it through Hungry Buffs who had a problem with drivers getting there to pick up the food. It was a long wait. I called the Attic and they were on the phone to Hungry Buffs. Turns out they had remade the orders 3 times because it sat too long! So, I went to pick it up, how could I not, after their trouble and efforts. They gave me free Key Lime pie YUMMMM. So, needless to say, the staff is as AWESOME as the food. I only go to the Attic for $5 dollar burger night. It's a great deal and the burgers are good, but be prepared for slower service (I'm not sure if it's just Monday nights or all the time). It's a nice place for a cheap burger, but it's not very vegetarian friendly. read more

To start, I only had the cheese curds, so this review is only about those. I just moved to Boulder from Madison, WI. I was having a craving for fried cheese curds, so I had to check out the attic's cheese curds. They are definitely sub-par. If you are used to true Wisconsin cheese curds, these are similar in quality to the Great Dane's in Madison: okay, but not great. read more

I made a take out order with hungry buffs. I got the classic burger and a full order of the fried cheese curds. The burger was alright, kinda soggy and sad lettuce. The $10 order of cheese curds tasted good but it was a very small portion. My friends joke that I like my salt with a side of food, but both the cheese curds and tots that came with the burger were way, way to salty for me. read more

Just ate here. Had my eyes on a couple items on the menu. I ended up getting the Wisconsin Mac and cheese. It was pretty good. They had a drink called the "Fat Albert." It was vodka and koolaid and lemonade, which I was all about. They were projecting Ferris Bueller's Day Off and had various sports channels on the TVs around the bar. The Attic was the only bar we could find in Boulder that had drink specials late at night, today being a Sunday. Their specials were from 9-close. This place was ok. However, around 130, a staff member named Dalton informed us they were closing at 2 (as is standard in Colorado bars). He came back to us around 145 and insisted we leave. He forcefully removed me from the bar, despite my friendly insistence we finish our billiards match (with one ball remaining per team, easily finished within 15 minutes). He then proceeded to shout obscenities at our party as we left, dampening our spirits significantly as we concluded our evening. We shan't return anytime soon. read more

Just went here tonight with 4 friends and had a very disappointing experience! The food was okay, there were limited drink options, and terrible customer service! We didn't expect too much of the food, it was decent for bar food. I got the sweet potato fries, my friends got a quesadilla and a chicken wrap. The wrap was a little sad, basically was a salad, 98% lettuce and 2% chicken... Perhaps they have more drink options than they lead on, or maybe the waitress just didn't know many off the top of her head, but we chose to get their signature drink, the fat Albert... It has grape Kool-aid, lemonade and vodka. It tasted like a grape jolly rancher, not terrible but not very good. Finally, the customer service... The waitress ignored half our table the whole time and hardly seemed to pay attention to us even when we could stop her to take our order. When she brought out our tickets, the happy hour prices weren't included, so we asked her to change that. She refused and argued that they never do happy hour on food. After 9pm on Sundays, they have advertised on their website and on signs inside that they have happy hour, including deals on drinks and "cheap eats" with discounted appetizers. We showed her everything in their website and still she refused to change anything so we asked for a manager. She was very rude and reluctant, but finally the manager comes. He also argued that they never do happy hour prices on food, but we pointed out that they have false advertising everywhere and he finally agreed to change the price on our checks. I thought rule 1 in customer service is that the customer is always right, even when they're not. I wouldn't be so bothered if they had been respectful of that issue and resolved our complaint, but to refuse and argue with us even when we had evidence, that speaks volumes to me as a customer and I will never suggest this place to anyone. read more

The Attic is my favorite place to go in Boulder. The food is yummy (especially the burgers) and prices are very resonable. Bartenders are very friendly and do a great job. Happy Hour is everyday 3-6 with tasty small plates $3 and under. The front bar has a nice loft-like atmosphere with tall windows, art on the walls and hanging plants. The back bar has comfy couches and FREE pool!! All in all the attic can't be beat, just make sure to get out of there before 1:30am when all the drunk college kids roll in for last call. read more

The Attic somehow stays open 15 minutes later than the rest of Pearl Street, so there is a flood of drunks to the bar between 1 and 2 am. It can get very crowded around last call. They often have good specials on PBR, but I usually come here for Fat Alberts (alcohol and purple stuff). There's nothing about the Attic that really stands out over the rest of the bars in the Pearl Street area other than its hours, but I've never had a bad Attic experience. I go to the Attic almost once a week. Delicious brunch on Saturdays and Sundays without the wait like other Boulder breakfast spots. The staff and owners are awesome. If you're a Packers fan it's the spot to go in Boulder for games. Great art on the walls, delicious food, and strong drinks. I love this place. read more

The waitresses are incredibly rude. I went here with my friends and I got personally victimized for coughing. I was not sick. I simply have bad asthma and was having an attack. I then explained this to them but it did not change their attitudes towards me. I am disappointed in the service that I received from this shady establishment. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Worst place ever, this is a terribly run business. The employees are all pissed off and walk around like they're not meant to server you. I love coming here for brunch. They have a surprisingly good menu, and the food was even more surprisingly fantastic. I got the Breakfast Burrito, and it came out quickly with everything I could ever want in a B-Burrito! Very nice presentation, filled with lots of egg, bacon, cheese, and chopped veggies. Many healthy options too. The service is consistently friendly and quick, the bar options plentiful and cheap. Good beer on draft, free pool in the back, sunny attic atmosphere. And to top it off, the owner Andy seems to always be around greeting customers and serving up beers. read more

Had a pretty solid time here while in town for a wedding. I love how they had lots of fun things to do. Pool, foosball, the hockey game and nudie photo hunt. All things I enjoy doing while drinking with friends. I really liked how the pool was free, too. It can get quite annoying when it is not and allows for faster games and more variety of people playing. To put it bluntly, the service flat out blew. At the time there was a waitress walking around and two bartenders. While playing pool, I asked the waitress for a drink. She told me she wasn't on, walked away, then handed food to the guys at the other pool table. No waitress ever came back out except for her. At one point, it was my turn to shoot, so I sat my drink down on the corner of the foosball table. Some drunk girl knocked it over and I was accosted by the male bartender for placing my drink on the foosball table. The drunk girl got off scott free because the bartender wanted to bang her. Later, I went up to order a round of beers. Told the guy "6 PBRs".... he started making purple drinks, so I assumed he was finishing up someone else's order first. He then put them in front of me and asked me for some outlandish amount of money. I looked at him and said those aren't PBRs... he told me I asked for Fat Alberts or something. Not even knowing what the hell that is, nor having ever heard of said drink in my 27 years on this Earth, I told him he was mistaken. Three strangers around me backed me up. The bartender just started talking crap to me, mumbling under his breath and pouring out the drinks. I told him to forget it and ordered the rest of my drinks for the night from the female bartender who actually knew how to do her job and knew how to treat customers. If not for that one waitress being lazy and that one bartender being a dick, this place most certainly could have been in contention for five stars. read more

Then we ordered another round and he was even more of a jerk so the tip % dropped. I would not recommend going to this bar. The drinks are over priced and the staff is not friendly. They make it seem as though helping you is a big inconvenience. There is always a higher guy to girl ration and they then to try to kick out guys claiming that they are to drunk when really they just need guys to leave. Two friends from Denver were introduced to The Attic a few years ago and every time they visit Boulder -- that's where they want to go for lunch. Fine with me. The food is great. The portions are substantial. The prices are right on. And the service is friendly. I always get either a salad (large) or a burger (very tasty) and they sample different things off the menu each time.....just to get an idea of what's what. We've never had a bad experience. This, after maybe two dozen visits. Andy, one of the owners, has always had a decent quip to share with us. I'm sure the place gets rowdy on weekends - they have a full bar, pool tables, etc., and it's not that far from the CU campus. But we manage to bypass the commotion and have always had a great experience. Keep it up, guys. read more

We held a graduation party here for about 40 people. I can't express how pleased I was. I ordered lots of food. Not sure of the actual size of platters - we had tons of food!!! It was a deal. Couldn't ask for better prices and good quality of food. The fruit was fresh the wings and sliders were hot. All perfect. They provided everything - plates utensils and boxes to take home leftovers. We had a private server whom I cannot speak more highly of. She was on top of everything from serving our drinks to clearing dirty plates and was just so helpful. Michael worked with me to get everything just as I wanted - doing this long distance I had never actually been in the Attic. The room was great with pool and chairs. We had a blast. We were welcomed far past our end party time. I was so pleased with how accommodating everyone was. A party here is a super idea. It was easy, affordable, and a great time was had by fraternity boys and family alike. read more

You may be here late at night but be careful you don't look too tired or they'll throw you out! I went with a big group of friends for a birthday but I wasn't drinking because I was the Designated Driver. We were settled in a corner with a couch and a bunch of bar stools. I had a bit of a pressure headache so I was resting my head on my hands to relieve the pain a bit. It was past midnight so I thought I would take a quick 2 minute cat nap. I wasn't involved in the conversation and I wanted to make sure I was awake and alert to drive everyone home and not falling asleep at the wheel. Soon after closing my eyes I hear this staff say "Hey, Sweetheart! Don't do that or I'll have to throw you out!" I open my eyes and realize he's talking to me. "What was I doing?" "You're looking to tired. Don't close your eyes like that." "Why?" "It's a sign of over serving. I'll have to throw you out." (It's also a sign of its past midnight...) Immediately all my friends say "Well, she's sober. She's not drinking tonight." His response: "I could care less. It doesn't matter if you've actually been drinking or not. Rules are rules. Keep closing your eyes and I will throw you out." I thought this was going to be my new favorite bar on Pearl but now I'm thinking they'll never see me again. read more
