This bar and billiards spot is the place to watch a high-stakes game. My friend and I were here on Saturday. We felt the energy as our team made a dramatic comeback to win the game by one point. The bartender kept us going with water refills and drink refills throughout the game. I didn't have any food, but some of the pictures I see on Yelp are worth trying out.

This place is great. Service was very nice. Friendly, attentive and prompt. Enjoyed the food! Had the Attic Cheesesteak and the Chipotle chicken sandwich. Both were very good. Salad was super lettuce-y nice drink specials. Cool dining area. Nice little place for a drink and some food. Would definitely recommend checking it out while walking around the area!!

[Solid 2.5 Stars] Nothing much to say, since our visit was no more than 10 minutes. We attended my brother in-law's musical show in Boulder, &decided to grab a drink in town before heading back to Denver. We found The Attic, via Yelp. The Attic is located on the second story; up a couple flights of stairs and you turn left that's the bar, if you turn right- that's the game room area. As my husband began walking towards the bar- he was abruptly stopped by who looked like to be the "ID checker" guy, but I totally didn't like how he basically bumrushed my hubby just to check ID's. He was kinda rude too. He went as far as to bust out his black light "fake ID" scanner...like really dude, really? I don't usually get annoyed when I get carded (it's actually flattering, lol) but this guy approached us all weird. Not welcoming at all. We found a table along the side. The hubby purchased our shots and then we were on our way out. The crowd on a Saturday night was kinda lame. Total sausage fest, with not so friendly people. The music playing overhead, wasn't my cup of tea... I'm sure this place can and has potential to be fun, so we might have came in on an off day while everyone was out of town for Easter? Would I return to this bar? No. 4/4/18 - Dear Michael (the owner), Just a note- I understand you are obligated in checking IDs, but there's a way to go about it without making your patrons feel singled out.

My husband and I stopped in Boulder CO on a road trip home during the Corona Virus and got to a Marriott hotel. We just drove 11 hours and were starving. We searched through Uber eats and decided to grab some delivery from The Attic. I ordered a beer brat sandwich with sauerkraut and tots and my husband got a cheeseburger and fries. Let me tell you that it arrived hot, fresh and exactly the way we ordered it. Honestly, we were expecting a good meal, but this meal hit the spot! It was FANTASTIC! Thank you The Attic for being open and delivering a wonderful product.

There are only two tables on their patio that have an umbrella, so we were sitting in the sun at first and it was getting really hot (but then we were able to snag a shaded table when it freed up shortly after) All of the menu options sounded so good, we started with drinks, I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it had egg white in it and was so delicious. We ordered the burrata appetizer and all of our means at the same time. Unfortunately, the appetizer never came out, our server for that to put it in. I ended up going with the Bolognese and it was really good so was the steak frites and street cart chicken that my friends had. Their fries are pretty good. The server felt really bad for forgetting about our appetizer and offered us a free dessert instead, so we tried the churro donuts which were ok. I'm still it was a good meal and I would definitely come back if I'm in the Boulder area again soon

We ordered couple different drinks and shared a jalapeño cornbread skillet as a snack. My Spa Day (a elderflower flavored gin based cocktail) was delicious, refreshing and not too sweet. The tiny flower garnish added a nice touch. The cornbread was decent (3/5). It was moist, but fell apart easily and difficult to take out of the skillet. It also tasted like it's from a pre-made mix. Overall a nice spot to hang out in the Pearl St. area. Maybe I'll try some other food here too.

The Philly was super greasy and the cheese was on the side. There was so much gristle and fat it was hard to eat. The bun was also super crunchy instead of crispy and light. The chicken was also terrible. It was a little thinly sliced chicken breast, that maybe got pounded out too thin and then fried. It needed a lot more seasoning- the sweet pickle slices were also contrasting to the honey mustard- it just left a literal bad taste in my mouth- lastly, the fries I recieved were soft, cold, and unsalted. We were only in CO for a week and this was the worst thing we ate.

I think the best thing about River and Woods is the interior and exterior decoration. It is very clear that a lot of thought and time was put into the atmosphere here. From the cute door knocker to the bathroom wallpaper, the theme is well-executed. The food was a bit disappointing. The blue oyster mushroom appetizer was extremely salty. I thought it was just me but the rest of the table agreed as well. My trout was well-cooked and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The chicken was also salty although cooked well. I did not try the burger but I was told it was salty as well. The prices of all the items were quite high for what I thought was presented. Service was good and thankfully our waters were filled frequently for how much water we were drinking due to the high salt content.

The drinks were definitely expensive, but we were happy to pay for a quality experience at an upscale restaurant. We ordered multiple appetizers, had several drinks, sat at the bar for quite a while, and honestly about to leave thinking this was a place we would probably come back to. That changed the second the bill arrived. Buried into the check was a 7% "kitchen surcharge." In other words, the restaurant decided to pass along kitchen payroll costs directly onto the customer without being upfront about it. If you're not paying close attention, you could easily end up tipping on top of that surcharge as well, essentially paying an extra hidden fee without realizing it. At a restaurant positioning itself as upscale and classy, this came across as incredibly tacky and cheap. Pay your staff properly and price your menu accordingly instead of sneaking surprise fees onto the bill at the very end. That's not hospitality. That's the kind of nickel and diming people expect from budget airlines, not a supposedly high end dining experience. It completely ruined what had otherwise been a nice night. We were seriously considering coming back before this happened. Now we won't return.
