My son's iPhone started having problems charging. I went online and read numerous articles about what might be the cause. I followed the suggestion and was unable to fix problem. It was out of warranty and we did not have insurance on it. Guy at AT&T suggested that we take the phone to ATX Cell Repair. Take phone in and explain the problem. Owner says that more than likely it will just take a cleaning to fix the problem. I told him that I had already cleaned it so I was sure it needed a new charging port. He said that he was going to start with a cleaning because that was cheaper. I left the phone for 30 minutes, and when I came back the owner told me the cleaning fixed the problem. Came here a month or so ago with a shattered iPhone 8 Plus screen and I drove by the other day and remembered that I forgot to review them!! I don't remember the name of the guy who helped me but he was so friendly and smart. I told him that I was okay with losing all my pictures and videos because that's what usually has to happen when I go through anyone that isn't Apple, but he explained to me that that wasn't necessary and there was no reason why anyone else should've done that! I shopped around and this place had the best price for the repair. The part needed to be ordered and I put down a $25.00 deposit towards the future service. When I no longer needed the service, I called immediately the next day to cancel. The manager offered me no refund of my deposit because the re-stocking fee is $25.00 for the part, it is still in transit. This was not explained to me when I made the deposit initially, and now I am out $25.00. I asked if maybe the part could be used for a client in the future who has the same phone, a pixel 3. He said no because the phone is rare... it is a new model yes, but not rare. I feel very misled and think it is ridiculous that a cell phone repair shop could not just hold onto a part they will be able to use in the future, and refund $25.00. I also didn't sign anything, and who's to say that they don't just keep the part and still not refund me? That means they didn't have to pay for something to ship to their business. read more

Much to my dismay, my 1-year old Nexus 5X had its rear camera lens cover shatter a couple of weeks ago. I was still able to take pictures, but they all came out looking like I had just woken up in a drunken haze. It turns out this isn't a too-uncommon problem and I was able to find a replacement rear cover (including rear camera lens) online. When it arrived, I realized that popping off the old back cover wasn't quite as straightforward as I had hoped so I called ATX Cell Repair. I described the problem, he acknowledged that "those covers are on pretty tight" and then said "come on in and I'll get you fixed up real quick. When I arrived, he popped off the back relatively easily with the help of a guitar pick-looking tool and had me ready to go in about a couple of minutes. To top it off, he told me not to worry about paying him, but instead to "make sure I come back when I have a real problem." In a day when most companies are looking to make a quick buck with diagnosis fees before they even help you out, ATX Cell Repair was a breath of fresh air. It's not only fixed, it looks brand new, price was great, took less than 90 minutes, and came with a lifetime warranty. Also opted for a glass screen protector that cost half the price of the "shield" t-mobile installed (you know the thin piece of plastic that looks like a total joke when you're peeling it off what's left of your screen).
