Representatives from this mobile glass repair shop walk around the check in area at Genie Car Wash, draw some circles in erasable marker on your windshield unprompted, and show you areas where your windshield is "chipped" in 4 places and needs repair, offering to coordinate with your insurance as well. I used quotes around "chipped" specifically because I subsequently called my auto insurance company who recommended Safelite Glass Repair (who I've used several times), and they came out to my place of work to repair the chips only to tell me that these are surface pits which are unsightly but cannot be repaired and they do not spread. In short, the representative from ATX Imperial Auto Glass was either very unskilled or attempting to rip me off. For reference, here is a full definition I found of this type of windshield damage: Surface Pit: A nick in the glass associated with normal wear and tear that does not penetrate to the plastic interlayer (middle layer of the glass sandwich). Went to a car wash to wash my truck and found these guys telling me I have to have a chip repaired. The guys were very aggressive but it was cheap enough so i allowed them to repair it. a week later the chip area sent a crack 8" long across my windshield. When i returned they claimed the chip was unrelated and ask me to claim it on my insurance. I showed them the pics of before and after which proved to be the exact same place. Last week two ATX Imperial Auto Glass employees moonlighting at Genie Car Wash marked up my car without my knowing. My goal was to get my car washed. The windshield repair employees approached me with demands that I repair my windshield before it would break. (The car and windshield are in superb condition.) I said politely, "No, thank you." They continued to be pushy and then harass me, even after I thanked them again and walked away. It is a pattern that they use with car wash customers. I watched them from the car wash waiting area and noticed their unprofessional (non-imperial) behavior. It's equal, unprofessional treatment with others. Be aware. Nobody monitors the lapses in communication and service. I called the main office and spoke to someone named Anthony who sounded so confused and even suggested that maybe that did not happen. Anthony said he would watch some video camera footage to see when, why, and how that happened. I've yet to hear from him. There's little chance this will have any impact on me personally, but this is the type of dishonesty that taints the reputation of contractors and salespeople in general. This is Sparta. So i was getting my car washed when a kind, friendly rep asked me non-intrusive questions about my windshield chips. Telling me with full coverage i could get them repaired for free. I'm cheap so i'm all about Free. The process didn't take long and i noticed easily 50% clearer vision through both of them. One was directly in my line of sight and now i hardly notice it. The rep was thorough in walking me through the claims process and having USAA my it easier as well. I thanked him and went about my day. Here is the deal - you call some guy who has probably never changed a car window in his life (Anthony). He then subcontracts the job out to some guy who actually knows what he is doing. Anthony takes the bulk of your money, and gives very little of it the poor fellow actually doing the work. Such is life, and I guess this is the game in the auto glass business. You just have to hope that the subcontractor that they send out (who is not an employee of ATX Imperial Auto Glass) knows what he is doing. Amazing!!! I asked for a same day quote and 10 minutes later I was on the phone with the GM to schedule my windshield repair. It was raining so the car washes that they are located at were closed so Javier (GM) asked if they could come to me. Even better!!! They arrived 2 hours after I first talked to them. Jaime was my technician and he was on time. He explained what we was doing to fix my windshield and was very friendly. He fixed 2 chips in my windshield in 10 minutes. If I could give 0/5 stars I would. I have been trying to schedule an appointment with this company for over a week. They fixed my broken windshield last year and offered a "lifetime warranty" on their work. I need them to come look at the seal around the windshield they replaced. The voicemail box to their "global headquarters" is full, they take 2-3 days to respond to emails and have ignored my requests to look at my vehicle even when shown the receipt stating my "lifetime workmanship warranty". I went with this company because I wanted to support a local business during the pandemic shutdown and now have found out that they are disreputable and untrustworthy. It looks like I will be out another windshield insurance deductible to have their mistake fixed but hopefully I can save someone else from the same mistake. I was approached by Stephen of ATXIAG when I stopped to get my oil changed at Shell Rapid Lube off Slaughter Lane. Being a native Texan, I know how our lovely heat can affect these seemingly minor chips and, considering how much I drive, I know how easy it is to end up with chips and not even know it. I really wasn't aware that my insurance would cover the minor repair at no cost to me, so I was pleasantly surprised to have this taken care of while I was eating my lunch and getting my oil changed. Hooray! I'm a fan of multi-tasking! Anyway, Stephen was great. He was polite, informative, and efficient. Went to Genie Car Wash yesterday to get a full detail. ATX imperial auto glass there offering a "free" service. I wasn't interested, but the glass technician (not a technician at all) really pushed their "free" service. The glass tech's name was Jaime, he came running to my car as soon as I stepped out pointing out chips on my windshield. At NO time was I explained to that there may be a risk of the windshield cracking. The windshield split and to a HUGE surprise I was told I was 100% responsible to replace my windshield at 100% cost. WTF???? I would have NEVER let this clown touch my car if I knew there was a risk involved. I use my car for my business, to be out of work for the next few days is ridiculous just because these "technicians" can't do their job correctly. I spoke with the owner on the phone and he wouldn't let me talk or explain. Basically he just told me to fork over $200 for a new windshield. There wasn't ANYTHING wrong with my windshield to begin with and to be told it's my fault really baffles me. Never trusting these clowns again..... I was scammed!!!! Went to the car wash in south Austin and was approached by a "professional" glass tech. The kid did not know anything about windshield repair, when I asked questions in regard to the most miniscule chip on my 1998 Honda (which had been there for more than 10 years) he tried to tell me if I didn't get the chip repaired, the chance of a complete crack out would be 90%. This smaller than a paper clip tip had been there for more than a decade. Extremely shady and very poor customer service. I guess he is paid on commission only basis. It's probably not wise to make a hasty decision on an auto repair, but Steve grabbed me at Genie Car Wash and wanted to repair two minor chips in the windshield -- chips I hadn't even noticed. However, apparently the work on my windshield was halted midway and not completed. My windshield was left with scrapes all around the (now more evident) chips. I called the number on the receipt and was told the work could be completed on Monday at a closer Genie Car Wash. Unfortunately, after getting directions and driving there, I found that location closed for the day, with no one in sight. Left a message, received no call-back. If I could give less than 1 star I would. My experience with imperial and Anthony Chavira was terrible. The estimator told my insurance company I had three chips in my window, there was only one. Then when I brought this matter up to Mr. Chavira he gave me some story about how it doesn't matter because it does not count against me and its only one claim. Um, its a lie! Had a windshield replaced and it was done incorrectly. Now there is a loud buzzing sound. Made numerous calls to get it fixed and the technician never shows up. I was told it was due to the weather so I rescheduled. Now 2nd appointment no one shows up, another wasted half day planning for this repair. I bought their Groupon to have a small rock chip repaired. BEWARE -- if you use a Groupon they DO NOT warranty their work. I did not see any such language on the Goupon and still don't so I was a little surprised to find this out. I had one small crack and one small chip on my windshield hardly noticeable but it bugged me so I figured I'd get it repaired. .when he used the razor blade to remove the excess epoxy the blade was jumping on the windshield like it was getting caught up ..I know a blade can't scratch glass when scraping but can't be good to be jumping on the glass..was like the blade was dull. after he was done I looked at the repair and it looked worse than when I brought it in.. there were long almost chisel marks only where the work was done..called the shop and they told me that there was nothing they could do and that those marks were already there and we're filled with epoxy. ..funny cause when I run a toothpick around those marks it falls in the marks= no epoxy. Stay away from this place at all costs...no effort from atx imperial auto glass to make it right...feels good getting screwed. . read more

Go anywhere except ATX Imperial Auto Glass! Went to their mobile location on Slaughter Ln with a chip that was no bigger than 3/8 inch across and was told by Javier Devers that it was no problem and he could fix it in a few minutes. After a few minutes, he told me that there was a problem. The simple chip repair turned into a crack that can not be repaired. He stated that it started to crack and he tried to stop it from spreading but it went past the point of repairing. He also stated that the best he could do was give me $50 off of my deductible which left me with a $200 bill for his mistake. He told me after the fact that these things can happen yet failed to warn me before he started, nor did I sign any papers with any warnings. Found out through another glass repair shop that since the chip was in the upper part of the windshield, you have to be careful and there was too much pressure when applying the resin. Now I'm driving a 2014 F150 with a crack caused by some "technician" that was in too much of a hurry (it was his lunch time) to do the job right, plus they want me to pay for their mistake. This whole situation is FUBAR and I strongly suggest to go to a reputable company if you need a repair because ATX Imperial obviously is not! read more

A guy by the name of Jacob approached me while I was getting a carwash, and offer to replace my windshield for $300.00 I questioned the price and the guy assured me that was the price, he wanted me to pay in advance and I told him NO, he insisted that I needed to pay at front before they replace the windshield, I told him I wasn't doing it and he came back and said that his boss was OK with me paying once the windshield was replaced, he told me he was gonna call me the same day to set up an appointment to get it replaced, I waited 3 days and nobody called me, so I called the place at 512-579-1998 and left messages for someone to call me back over the next 2 days and nobody called. Finally I got to speak to a guy who claims he was the manager but refused to give me his name and last name, he told me that his guy Jacob made a mistake and that even though he was an employee there, and that even though he wrote it down saying it was gonna cost me $300.that he wasn't going to honor that price So this company pretty much lie to me, I asked the manager who finally gave me his name of Javier still no last name if he was member of the BBB Austin, so that I could place a complain of deceptive practices, and he claimed that he was a member and when I checked his name with the BBB Austin, is clearly shows that they are NOT a member, they lie again.
