I have wondered if two stars is too high. The staff was extremely friendly so that is the only reason I am giving it two. The course should be shut down. I get it is January and the grass would be dormient. That does not explain the "moon scape" of the fairways. Huge potholes everywhere. The tee boxes are so hard you can't get tees in them. Then there are the tee boxes that have backhoe damage on them. Why is a backhoe on a tee box? Then the greens are a joke. The sand traps have rocks in them. If I had paid $15 maybe it would be ok. That is a huge maybe. My husband and I play golf a lot all over the world. This is the worst course conditions we have ever had. It may have been better not to play golf? We looked on line and saw they had some tee times the day of so that is why we went. The price on line was $38. We drove there and to book there on sight was $45. The day wasn't great as well as the pace of play was so so so slow. We had a four some of ladies playing best ball. Two of the four couldn't hit the ball more than four feet or swang and miss. I am all for newbies. Especially ladies. However, you got to be smart about it. It wouldn't have been difficult to let us play through either as we were usually at the tee box with them. Thankfully, they stopped at the turn and only played nine and that is when we found out it really didn't matter because they had a foursome in front of them that was drunk and as bad at golf as the ladies with mouths of sailors. We got so fed-up we drove through on hole 13. I don't know if I have seen people so drunk on a golf course in a while. I do blame the lady at the front. It was clear she knew them. We were a twosome. We knew it was going to be slow, but we could have also gone off before them. When we drove through the last foursome, we didn't have anyone in front of us the rest of the round no matter how fast we went. We play fast. Additionally, on the front nine we had the two some behind us drive into us three times. It is so unacceptable. We were stuck between a slow foursome and a fast twosome. The last time he hit into us I drove back to him and said please go in front of us and see what we are dealing with. I wish I could say it was one guy. We got hit into again on the back nine by another player. Unreal! It sort of speaks to the type of players on this course. Newbies, that drink while they play and don't get the unspoken rules of golf. Do note there is no attire restrictions on this course. Overall, a bad day on a golf course is a better than a day at work but this wasn't really golf. This was hitting a white ball in the hill country. Save your money and time and go elsewhere. We had played here before, so we know it wasn't this bad the last time we played here. Hard to say is it going down or is it on its way up. Along the river you can see they are doing some work, but we will not be back. Not for the condition of the course.

The greens were in good shape but some of the teeboxes needed a little work. Immediate suggestion... Mow down all of the tall grasses that line or cross some of the fairways. It would make for a much nicer experience and speed up play because we were losing balls in and near the fairway which equals... group ball searches.. All in all... very playable. We shall return!!!

Let me start with the $20 parking fee, that hurts. Then it's a really long walk to the carnival entrance, another $10 for access to the fairground, and then another however much for rides. During spring break it was $25 for kids during the day (half off) and the make you pay extra for the paper wristband so $27. So you're already $67 in and haven't even done anything yet. The carnival looks old, all the kids ride are just old old old. And most of them your toddler can't ride unless you're with him, so buy another wristband for yourself! And the people working it look like they wish they could be anywhere but there. The food was normal carnival food but extra gross. And expensive. Overall we had a good time because our kids don't know any different, and we love to dress up and go to rodeo. The petting zoo was a cute attraction for the kids, and we love walking the exposition hall. Is it the best rodeo? No. Could it use a good upgrade for the price? Yes. Will I go again next year because that's all we got? Yes.

I had planned a full day of activities (all COVID compliant, wearing masks, distancing, etc) and needed someone to drive us from place to place as we don't have a car here. Google searches didn't turn up many options other than atxprivatecar services which quoted me $600 for the day- as much as I love my boyfriend and wanted him to have a very special bday, $600 is a lot of money to spend on someone driving us around. The only reason we needed this service is because some locations were in Fredericksburg (wineries) and a 75 minute drive out of Austin with limited Uber/lyfts that far out. I turned to Yelp and am SO happy I did bc that is where I found Josh! I sent a message to three businesses' and Josh was the first to reply at an unbeatable price point (actually unbeatable- no one else could match). He was super responsive, communicative and friendly. Day of- he was five minutes early to our pickup location, was very considerate and prepared (hand sanitizer, asked us what music we want in advance, the like) and a very safe driver. His car is very clean and so comfortable. He was also super flexible when we ran a little late and needed an extra hour added. Josh is also extremely socially aware- during our day long excursion, he was really great at joining the convo whether it be to offer some good food recommendations for us, or informing us on what animals we would see during the drive (yes we're all city folk and didn't know the difference between sheep's/goats) but never intruding or talking our ear off (the opposite actually!). I really appreciated that he was so helpful, friendly and informative, but never annoying, too chatty or intrusive. It was the perfect mix and it's a real life skill that many do not possess - Josh does. We all noted that to each other after on just how great he was ! They had a kid friendly movie in the evening outside, which was nice. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, the patio/balcony was good size, and the bathroom bathroom was with a tub and lots of hot water in the shower. Really nice room! Big shout out to Jadon (see photo) that was great helping us get our two cars packed up and offered water for the drive, a nice touch. Really nice young man made our last memory a good one. We arrived after July 4th so avoided all the chaos. The timing of a post holiday visit allowed us to enjoy a quiet and peacefully slow paced stay. We enjoyed the lazy river, animal farm, fishing, bike riding, and nightly s'mores. The only down side was on our final night, the main restaurant had over an hour wait (on a week day) so I can't imagine what a typical packed weekend would look like.

He was flippant, disrespectful, and blatantly sexist during our conversation where we asked for a refund. He spoke over me when I spoke and would only address my husband. Save yourself the pain of working with a one man shop who doesn't know, understand, or care about business. I know he will come back with a sob story about trying his best, but at the end of the day we trusted him to make sure our guests got to our wedding and he didnt do it.
