I have been to many Au Bon Pains in my life. This the first one I feel compelled to write a review. The minute I walked up to the shop nestled in the corner of a building on the first floor I felt like it was going to be a warming experience. Unlike the one at Jackson Memorial in Miami Fl where it is so busy you feel like your in a cattle call. The Au Bob Pain at Mercy hospital is another experience. The corner location leaves plenty of room for umbrella tables to sit outside. In front of its recognizable signature yellow wall outside are iron tables and chairs. You can't but help notice the clean outside area. No loose wrappers or garbage cans full. When you come in, the bright colors catch your eye and just the clean organization makes you feel comfortable. I like the self serve pastries with bag and handling wax paper. I was to see that they offered six different varieties of soup. There is a separate section for crafted coffees- which is smart that it doesn't interfere with the sandwich making. There is a separate beverage center for drip coffee and sodas with all the utensils you might need. The storefront looks small but feels really large inside. The best part is the friendly service. The cashier was also the manager and she greeted everyone with a smile and an appropriate timed conversation. I asked if they had military discounts and she responded with a sincere apology for not having it. My order ended up being $5.01 and she said don't worry about the penny. I said see you still managed to give me a discount and we both laughed! I look forward to going again!

Fast reliable service! This Au Bon Pain has it all! They have wraps, sandwiches, snacks, fruits...you name it they have it. They have breakfast items too. Lots of drink options including coffee. They have Cafecito Cubano as well. This restaurant is clean and staff are very friendly. Located within the Mercy Hospital Complex. If you work at Mercy Hospital then this is your go-to restaurant/cafeteria for quick on-the-go lunch. It's convenient! Scenario: you're a nurse/doctor wanting a bite to eat but you don't want to lose your parking spot? Then walk on over to Au Bon Pain. Lots of different menu items to choose from. This place will kill any particular craving you might have. You work at Mercy Hospital but you don't want to settle for delivery during lunch? You work at Mercy Hospital but you don't feel like driving to Coconut Grove, Brickell or even the Roads? Stay in and head to Au Bon Pain and eliminate any lunch cravings you may have. Kill the hunger! Very clean restaurant/cafeteria.

Who would have known a meal after visiting the doctor could be so pleasant. The breeze is constant here.

As you're walking down the strip area you can pop in for a quick caffeine break or tea or Matcha. We tried one of their suggested coffees and it was super delicious. I shared mine with my friend. They delivered it quickly and kindly we walked around the Grove area with drink in hand.m Inside they have a couple of chairs and small table areas that you could do some quick laptop working but it's overall more of a grab and go. There were many people doing their work in there, there are a few tables outside in about six or seven inside, all two tops inside. The seating does not look very comfortable, it doesn't seem like they want you to stay for hours on end. The girls behind the bar were so nice, she took her time to answer my questions about the specialty items and explained that the Yuzu Matcha was not your traditional Matcha, but actually had a Yuzu tea soda base - good to know because I really wanted that milk tea Matcha and this was not that so I ended up not ordering it and pivoting to the Baku coffee instead, which was a yummy toasty coconut inspired coffee with coconut flakes on top. This was super good and not overly sweet and perfect for the occasion. We also tried a chocolate croissant, which would have been better heated up, but was still yummy. The prices were really not great though three tiny coffees were $35. I was pretty shocked.

This was my first trip to…read moreMiami, and a friend from San Diego told me there was one place I absolutely had to visit....Emissary. They were right. The coffee was incredible, the food was perfection, and the staff were unbelievably kind and welcoming. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. It honestly felt like it had been grown in someone's backyard garden. I had the tuna salad with seven-minute eggs (amazing), and my son got the breakfast sandwich... which my husband claimed he didn't want until he took one bite and immediately wanted to come back before we flew home. On our second visit, they had sold out of the brioche bun for the sandwich and we were so disappointed but one of the staff members (owner, manager, or actual angel) overheard me talking to my husband and offered to make it on different bread. They went completely above and beyond, and the sandwich was still unbelievable. Amazing food, amazing coffee, and customer service that truly made us feel cared for. We'll be talking about Emissary long after this trip.

Service is fast, the healthy breakfast options look amazing, and the coffee is honestly 10/10. If you prefer a creamier coffee, go for the latte; if you like a stronger coffee taste, the cappuccino is perfect. Most importantly, the coffee is served at the right temperature -- not overheated like in many places. Beautiful interior design, cozy outdoor seating, and since it's not located directly on a busy road, it stays calm and quiet outside too. Definitely one of those spots that makes you want to stay longer.

This area was once the lower floor recreational rooms of the house enjoyed by James Deering. These rooms for men's recreation once housed the bowling, smoking, and billiard rooms. You must purchase a museum admission to have access to the gift shop and cafe. In 2017 Hurricane Irma did significant damage depositing three feet of water into the gift shop and cafe. It took three and a half years for this part of the museum to reopen. The historic leaded glass doors alongside the swimming pool and the terrazzo floor in the Smoking Room were restored and the stainless-steel sinks and kitchen tables were refurbished while kitchen equipment was added. Today the newly renovated Vizcaya Café and Gift Shop is managed by A Joy Wallace Catering with an eye towards healthier grab and go food choices. The menu includes appetizers, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, wine, coffee, tea, and desserts. I particularly love that they carry a selection of Tea Forte. There is also a children's menu. Many of the dishes are prepared with herbs grown in the garden. You can eat inside or outside with a view of the garden. The gift shop has a selection of carefully curated items inspired by the history, architecture, and gardens of Vizcaya. They sell books, candles, tea, coffee, ornaments, vases, decorative items, models, mugs, dishes, t-shirts, postcards, towels, coasters, and more. I especially loved a glass monarch butterfly you can hang in the window. It is obvious that the museum put a lot of effort not only into the space of their retail area and cafe but also into the variety of items they sell and the food and drinks they serve. This is one of the nicest museum cafe and gift shops that I have had the pleasure of visiting.

It was ok but un-remarkable. Bread was fresh, but not grilled. The pork was pretty flavorless. The flatbread of the day, again, was ok,but unremarkable. Very heavy on the fig jam and balsamic. Clearly they are trying to be a step up from museum fast food, but not really there yet.
