    Our second time in a decade for a family vacation at Mont Tremblant, saw us making reservations in a quieter part of town, and we chose the Old Village, over a century old hamlet with an old world feel, and a truly Quebecois vibrancy that made our stay so enjoyable. A short walk down the side sidewalks, in the mere center of the village, the Hotel Mont Tremblant and its restaurant, Au Coin, are an integral part of the ambience. Our first night, after arriving from New Hampshire and getting settled, saw us both hungry and a bit late for dinner, so we walked the five minutes to the Old Village center and went in without a reservation, hoping they would still have tables available. The place was definitely full but after a short ten minutes, they were able to sit us in a very good table away from the evening commotion. The Old Village is definitely Quebec. The atmosphere is relaxed and while it may seem the waitstaff are not coming as frequent as in Anglo America, it is that part of the culture that allows the guest to fully enjoy their evening without a waitperson checking in to see if they're done every ten minutes. We spent a good hour and a half in the restaurant and we noticed that there were people who had been there when we got to our table and were still there when we left. The merriment, the friendliness, and the enjoyment of life was evident in the ambiance. And it was welcome. We ordered sparkling water of course, and a bottle of a wonderful Pinot Noir before our dinner. I ordered the Bison Burger, tasty and tender, topped with sautéed mushrooms, onions, in a brioche bun. My other half had the seafood tagliatelle, a delicious mix of scallops, shrimp, lobster and sauce on the pasta. Delicious. A most enjoyable evening at this beautiful and historic place.

    We needed a quick stop for lunch after a long trip to Mont Tremblant. Au Coin was able to take us right away without a wait. The onion soup was some of the best I have ever had, rich beef broth & I enjoyed the hearty piece of bread to dip into the soup. My son loved his flank steak which was cooked to his liking. My husband didn't find the fish and chips anything special. He would try something else next when we returned on another to the area. If you need a quick lunch without a long wait, this is the place to go.

    Cute pub in an out of the way - the Vieux Village de Mont Tremblant. I'll look into the histoire of the area. Super nice people - not much traffic. The meal was what to expect if there is not a lot of traffic. Let's get over to Le Vieux Village to support the whole area. Looks like cool skating on Lac Mercier!

    The ambiance of this restaurant was what pulled us in for lunch. Drinks were good and server amazing! Unfortunately the menu lacked some lunch items, everything was more on the heavy side and they offered one "brunch item" under their brunch menu. Would probably skip next time I go as it didn't wow me.

    Great service, I got a burger and it was good except that it was cooked very well done, and a bit burnt. Unfortunately that is the only way they cook their burgers. The fries were good though!

    We came here to try it out and regretted it. We placed our order immediately and waited over 35 minutes for our food only to find out the waitress put in the wrong order so we had to wait another 20-minutes(even though she came by twice and said, only two minutes longer." Almost one hour to get one entrée because we were sharing. We were glad we ordered fries before the meal but the fries were soggy - it was definitely not made fresh to order. We wondered how long they were sitting there. It also took over 30-minutes just to get lemon that we requested from for three times:-(( The entree, both the fish and fettuccine pasta was bland and tasteless. It seems they did not season the fish at all! We were looking to add Parmesan cheese but the waitress did not return/disappeared for a long time :-(( When we finally received our check the waitress attempted to charge us for the wrong order in addition to what we ordered. We were suspicious. Sadly we will not be returning. The Italian restaurant a couple of steps away was a better experience the night before.

    Was in town for the day and someone recommended this place and to be honest I have no clue why. To start the service was beyond awful and we were there before the night rush so it was not busy. I was happy as they came snd took our order quickly but it was all downhill from there. We never got water just the alcohol we ordered and once we asked for water took us asking twice to finally get it. We got fries and aioli to share and we did get the fries but not aioli. 6$ for a small fries its too much especially after we had to ask again twice for the aioli that is suppose to come with the fries. My mother got a fish and chip and she was happy with it. My husband got a steak and we asked medium and what we got was a raw steak. I waited 15 min to catch the waitress and in the end I had to get up with my plate and waited at the bar for someone to come fix this. All the waitress did was take my plate without a word and walked away. So not impressed at all. We did get the same steak just reheated and all we got was a cold sorry. I had mussels and fries and that was very blend. Not impressed with this place at all

    While on a short ski vacation I was pleased to find Au Coin in the Village area of Tremblant; this is separate from the Ski Resort area and the downtown area; just a nice neighborhood with shops and restaurants. Au Coin is attached to an old hotel, you enter through the hotel lobby and go left into the restaurant. Au Coin feels like a comfortable old pub and the menu has some good ambitions. I sat at the bar and ordered off the Table d'HôteMenu which they have printed up on large poster boards. This menu is a good deal as you get an appetizer, entree and coffee or tea for one price. I got the Scallop Carpaccio and the Mussels and Frites. The scallop app were thin slices of raw scallop topped with an apple salsa; the scallops were excellent and the salsa was good, but a bit too sweet to go with the scallops. The Mussels were a large portion of tender mussels in a tomato sauce; they were perfectly cooked and some of the best mussels I have had. The large helping of fries were good, but nothing special, I would have preferred that they be a bit crisper. Au Coin provides a comfortable and relaxed alternative with good food and extremely reasonable prices, it is well worth seeking out and giving them a try.

    I wish I could give zero stars because it was an absolute let down...and we didn't even eat there. We'd read the reviews beforehand & saw people posting about waiting 2 hours before bing served but that it was just an exaggeration. We arrived just before 5pm (2 adults, 2 children) & there were maybe a max of 5 people there, sitting at the bar. Waited a few minutes for someone to seat us, meanwhile they were busy sorting out menus in front of us. We had our IDs & Vaccine passports ready to show...the lady finally acknowledged us but said "I don't need to see your IDs, just show me your codes...she then just looked at the QR code's without even scanning them. ‍ We were seated & waited about 10-15 minutes before someone brought us the menus. Once we decided what we wanted (calamari & piri piri shrimp entrees, 2 Insane burgers, kids burger meal & pasta bolognese) we placed our order but were told they had no ground beef. 5pm on a Saturday? Needless to say we didn't stay. I fail to see how they can not have this main ingredient at the beginning of the mealtime on a busy season weekend...but at the VERY LEAST, they should be posting that information outside on the menu to avoid people wanting to order that wasting their time to get settled. Highly disappointed.

    Great historic quaint hotel on a beautiful lake. Center of this tiny town just south of the mountain. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend

The staff was attentive, friendly, and always seemed to appear at just the right moment when our glasses were running low. Everything felt effortless throughout our time. The space itself is cute. They also have a lovely outdoor patio with cozy lighting and greenery making it a great spot to relax and enjoy good conversation. Tucked away with a beautiful terrasse in the back, it's the kind of place you'd almost miss--but absolutely shouldn't. The service was fantastic from start to finish--attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. The food was equally impressive. Everything we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with portions that are just right. The beef and mushroom tartare was a standout--rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced--and the braised lamb cavatelli was simply outstanding. The lemon tiramisu for dessert was the best ive ever had. Overall, a fantastic experience. Can't wait to come back!

Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called "Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard", but "lapin" translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil' cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit.     Greater Montreal area reviews I forgot to write (1 of 2)…read more A long time ago, I found a fairly priced casual French restaurant in the Laurentians that did a fixed price table d'hote lunch where the portions were good enough for portion control, yet satisfying enough for one's appetite. I reviewed it and later became aware that, sadly, they had closed. I really wanted to go back there. I was looking for something similar, befitting a "yellow, orange, and red" sort of day in the Laurentians. There was no such thing to be found. I walked around Saint-Sauveur, saw their postcard-like main church, and checked out the shops and eateries. Both my phone and a local or two steered me to Saint-Sau, indicating this might be the closest thing to what I was looking for. Had I kept on rummaging through Laurentian towns, I could have probably found something closer to what I wanted, but it was definitely time for lunch. I walked into Saint-Sau, which is woodsy, fairly bright, and seems to pull in the sort of crowd who would order things like fondue and such. I picked out a place to sit and was handed a menu. I don't remember how I went through the culling process, but I ended up at the fish and chips. The prices at Saint-Sau are a little bit above the midpoint for this sort of food, but then this is a touristic area, especially in summer and fall, and the prices reflect that. I told the lady providing the service that I was hungry and asked how many pieces of fish would be included. This predominately Francophone cross between a "Dreamboat Annie" and a younger Sarah Palin told me two large pieces or three more normally sized pieces. I was okay with that, so that's what I ordered. I also ordered a soft drink. She was actually very nice and quick on her feet, attending to various tables, and I remember her having somewhat of a deep voice. The food arrived and I looked at what was on the plate. I just sat there with my arms folded and didn't dig in. I don't know if this was noticed and it registered, or they simply needed to do more cooking. Initially, I got two pieces of fish and they were not big enough for what I paid and was expecting. Within about 5 minutes, that third piece of fish arrived. At that point, I was a happy camper, dug in, and woofed down this Laurentian lunch. This town and those frequenting its shops and eateries made for some questions and analysis. With it being peak color, some people were clearly tourists - "leaf peepers." However, some people didn't have the "looking up at skyscrapers" look, meaning they were locals. I also saw some expensive cars with Quebec license plates in the area. Doing the math, these folks could be well paid French-Canadian individuals who own businesses or are in the professions in these Laurentian towns. Or, they could be the same, except that they commute to companies and organizations on the Rive Nord, or even in Laval. Like New York, Los Angeles, or anywhere else in North America, the center of Montreal and its first ring of neighborhoods now look way more international in terms of demographics than they do French-Canadian. With three small pieces of fish (most likely cod) to eat and something to wash it down, I'm glad I came to Saint-Sau. I'm going with three stars because I feel I shouldn't have been perplexed and had to wait for another piece of fish to arrive. At two pieces of fish, the platter would have been overpriced. Also, while waiting and observing the autumn colors outside, I knew that peoplewatching and armchair sociology would inevitably come into play.
