Your generic overpriced mountainside pub with mediocre food and an annoying seating system. You lineup for a table while the host seats people one by one (read: long line, lots of empty tables). Pro tip: the bar is first come first serve, hence you don't need to wait in line, but you wouldn't know that unless you directly asked. The French onion soup tasted microwaved and everything else we ate was unmemorable at best. We tried coming on Super Bowl Sunday (a few hours before the event) to get some good viewing seats, but the owners reserved the majority of the bar. First day skiing at Mount Tremblant and after skipping breakfast, we planned for an early lunch, swooshing down the steeps on Taschereau down to Beauvallon, ending up at the gondola base. And less than 200 feet, Le Shack was open, so we went in. Le Shack is a nice, comfortable brasserie with a huge terrace which would be marvelous for Spring skiing and summer seasons. On this bluebird day, the terrace was quite busy with revelers enjoying a relatively warm day. However, we chose to be inside where it was not crowded at all. I like the ambiance at Le Shack, modern yet rustic interiors and cushioned chairs. Our waitress was quite efficient yet courteous. We first went for the beers, noticing that most of their brews were national mass-produced brands, while local microbrew offerings were Cobblestone, Glutenburg and Dieu Du Ciel. Le Shack could do way better with more local and fresh beers which are invariably vastly superior to corporate brands. We settled on a Glutenberg IPA, a Dieu du Ciel and a Cobblestone Stout. Main course followed; a Big Shack burger that looked delicious and with stellar presentation, a large Romaine Cesar Salad with salmon, and a delicious Fish and Chips. I had the brie burger which is one of the best things I ate during this trip, my only caveat is that it was a bit small... delicious, but I could have eaten a second one. My companion got poke nachos and while he liked the flavors and concept he felt they were lacking on the toppings. Our waitress was somewhat friendly I guess since it was near closing so she wasn't on her A game but still no horrible service just slow a bit. Location wise you're right in the middle of the village but is it worth it ? Let me break it down for you Calamari 14 dollars... meh Mont tremblant club 15... okay Cheese sticks... no Ribs 30... meh Shock top.. yeah With tip $130...I could eat like a queen in Montreal for that price but yes I know it's a tourist trap so they gotta stay a float. The place itself is pretty cozy, the chairs are very homey and not realizing the part you sit on was a straw I thought I was going to break the chair when I initially sat down. The fake trees in the middle of the place are kind of odd. I guess they were going for a rustic lodge feel, but all they did was block the tv at the bar.
