We came here twice for lunch while skiing at the mountain. It was the only place with not to bad of a line and we could watch the game on TV we wanted to see. The first day we went itbwas really packed the server seemed a bit overwhelmed but was doing her best to ma age going back and forth we got some drinks and for food I got salmon. The salmon was really good this day. The next day it was a little bit emptier. I got the salmon again as I enjoyed it the first day. However this time it came with a cup of salad which I did not get the first day. Talking with the server he said yes its suppose to come with salad and he sorry they missed it yesterday but now I know. However the salmon didnt tast that good. It taste like it wasn't fresh and completely different from what I had the previous day. Also overall service was just sub par ( I may be bias comparing to American standards) but im use to where once you get your food servers come and check in on you to see how it is and if you need anything else. Came for my boyfriend's 30th birthday with a group of 9. The waiter was amazing, helping with wine selection, making sure the food was up to bar, and having a bit of banter with the table. Everyone's steak was perfectly cooked. The only downside was the garlic mashed potatoes were more thick/gluey not light and fluffy. The restaurant made a big ordeal over his birthday, with lights, a special hat, a bubble machine, and a DELICIOUS maple cake slice. He bread bowl was cold and there was one piece of beef in it along with a singular carrot slice. The kids filet was good but it was 4oz and $32, so... Slope in Tremblant offers either a Apres ski or lunch experience in the bar area or more formal dining upstairs. All the meat is grilled over an open flame. The beef cheek poutine was delicious and the 5oz burger was perfect. We had excellent service. I recommend this place for a meal or post skiing libations. read more

My friend waited for almost 3 hours, understanding it would take couple hours before they called her name on NYE. After 3 hours the hostess kept saying "we're next" even though she kept seating people that arrived after us. 3 of us sat at the bar to have a few drinks I order to kill time waiting for our table and the hostess told us we're not allowed at the bar unless we were eating. I didn't see anyone at all eating at the bar. They finally sat half our party and we took it because the kids were starving. We politely asked to speak to the manager simply to voice ourselves, at which point they kicked us out. The hostess as zero people skills, flat out continually lied to us and was rudest person I've met in a long time. La Forge Bistro and Steakhouse: A New Year's Eve Disaster If I could give La Forge Bistro and Steakhouse zero stars, I would. My family and I made the unfortunate decision to dine here for New Year's Eve in Mont Tremblant, and it was an absolute train wreck from start to finish. We were required to prepay $250 per adult and $125 per child for the privilege of attending their 5:30 PM seating, which, insultingly, came with a hard cutoff at 8 PM so they could usher in their "actual" New Year's Eve diners for the same price (but without a kids' menu). That alone should have been a red flag, but we had high hopes for a steakhouse dinner. How naive we were. The Food: A Parade of Culinary Catastrophes The appetizers set the tone for the evening: * Bone-dry falafel that would rival a desert for lack of moisture. * Foie gras crème brûlée--an absolute joke, both in concept and execution. * Blini with sturgeon and caviar, featuring a dry piece of sturgeon topped with what must've been four lonely caviar eggs--an insult to even the tiniest appetite. * Oysters so smothered in a bland, unremarkable sauce that tasting the actual oyster was impossible. The sole saving grace? Tiny A5 wagyu lollipops--delicious but laughably minuscule. The first course was even worse. The lobster bisque was akin to flour-thickened turkey gravy gone horribly wrong, leaving a greasy, glue-like paste that was entirely inedible. My foie gras was no better--an unappetizing glob of slimy, undercooked liver slopped onto an overly sweet cornbread-like base. For the main course, the steak was, thankfully, edible--but that's hardly a compliment at a steakhouse. My son decided to try the A5 wagyu instead of the kids' menu (a $100 supplement on top of the $250 adult meal). For $350, he endured inedible appetizers, paste-like bisque, and a tiny piece of wagyu. Dessert was the final slap in the face: a chocolate mousse "log" whose unfortunate resemblance to a certain bodily function felt like a fitting end to the meal. The Experience: Bare-Bones and Bleak For $250 per adult, one might expect at least a modicum of festivity. Instead, the restaurant offered nothing but a handful of half-inflated balloons dangling limply from the ceiling. Drinks--sodas for the kids and my non-alcoholic beer--were extra, adding insult to injury. Final Thoughts: Avoid at All Costs Prepaying for this meal left us completely at their mercy, with no recourse for the abysmal quality of the food or experience. It's enraging to have such high expectations only to be completely burned by a restaurant that clearly has no incentive to impress once they've pocketed your money. Do yourself a favor: avoid La Forge Bistro and Steakhouse at all costs. The only thing they excelled at was turning a festive evening into a frustrating, overpriced disappointment. read more

A huge family of 12 is trying to sit together on thanksgiving weekend in Mont Tremblant at this resto; the first manager said it will take a bit of time... let's say 20 minutes, since not all the members of family arrived, there 20 minutes are sufficient. At the nick of time when everyone was gathered, some second manager gave away our tables to another party. It didn't go well with my uncle, since we are all inside waiting for the table. The first manager comes back, and all the apologies were given. To get another table of 12 it might take an hour. We don't even want to get out of the restaurant because we have to take a long line at every other restaurants since mont tremblant is jam packed. In the end, We technically sat separately into three separate bar tables/stools around the bar. Our waitress was super quick and efficient. My dish was excellent; I ordered grilled salmon burger and sweet potatoes fries. My salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The bun was perfect, with lettuce, red onions and chipotle mayo. I won't name the dishes of what the rest of 11 people ordered but everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy it together. The biggest pointer is that management needs communicate among themselves, and not give away another customer's table to another when the party is present inside the restaurant, awaiting. read more

We had their signature burger the day before and it was huge with a surprisingly flavorful mix of condiments. Upon our second visit, we chose the steakhouse on the second floor, and my 20oz. rib-steak ($75CAD), ordered rare, was cooked to perfection. It appeared to have the cooking precision of sous vide steak (temperature-controlled boil), but was achieved somehow by traditional grilling, replete with "Maillard-reaction" grilled-flavor. My wife ordered a medium-rare, 12oz. filet mignon La Forge Foie gras et champignons, with bordelaise ($97CAD). The serving size appeared huge despite the steak's modest 12oz. pre-cooked weight. This signature La Forge dish was superb, yielding a complex and satisfying mix of beefy, savory, and buttery flavors. My wife and I just had a 2 hour and 15 minute long meal at La Forge. Well done wagyu steaks, no service, best of luck getting a drink, and curling stone rolls await you! To start off our night we were informed La Forge was too busy for a table. This is ironic given we sat at the La Forge Steak House bar from a little before 7:30 to 9:45pm. That table, as well as others, were never seated. At about 9:30 we were offered the table in a wide open dinning room (about 5 people total remained) as if we were table scraps. Well after the treatment by our first waiter and the manager we might as well have been. At 7:30pm my wife and I decided to sit at the bar after being informed that there were no tables. We ordered 2 cocktails and input our dinner order fairly promptly. Our glasses went empty as nobody came to check on us for about 25 minutes. It was funny watching every waiter walk into the bar, make their tables drink and completely ignore us. Apparently there is a bar with no bartender. Our "Waiter" was clearly busy walking around and attending to every other table but us. I flagged down a waitress and ordered a glass of wine as nobody was waiting for help was hopeless. I should have asked to see the bottle because it was clearly different from the wine which was served the rest of the night. Bread was eventually brought out after having been collected from the local curling facility...seriously these things were so stale and dry they could have been curling stones. After about 40 minutes our green salad came out. The salad, while late, was the only acceptable dish of the night... The main meal arrived at 8:40pm. It could have arrived sooner as we watched our garlic potatoes and brussel sprouts sit in the service window for 20minutes. That's the great thing about an open kitchen, you can see it all especially when you're hungry with over an hour of waiting. We ordered the 12oz filet medium rare and the wagyu flank medium rare. The flank arrived well done and the filet arrived medium to medium well. That would not be acceptable at a chain let alone a steakhouse. It is at this time I asked to speak to the manager as our bar waiter simply could not be bothered. The waiter asked if he could do anything but after the neglect all night I asked to just please send the manager over. The great thing about La Forge's restaurant design is you can see everything from the bar! What our intrepid waiter decided to do was bounce around with the glasses across from the PoS system and then check on his tables. Only after about 5 minutes did he even attempt to find the manager and only then sent somebody to find him. I flagged another waitress down during his temper tantrum and asked to speak to the manager now. She immediately went to find him. The manager eventually appeared and agreed that the steak was improperly prepared and said that he would fix it by refiring the steaks and he poured a glass of wine. I also asked that he check and see when our first drink was ordered as it has been an incredibly long time and multiple couples who arrived after us had completed full meals. He never did return with that simple answer. Well we should have just left as our ticket was sent to the back of the line. Our next steaks were the last to be served and arrived at about 930. The steak was still cooked improperly as it was now rare but it was edible and we were starving. We were also now just offered a table, in the now empty restaurant. Seriously we were the last people in the place besides a table of 5 drinking wine and even further the kitchen staff was starting to clean the kitchen before our food arrived. We went here a couple times apres ski. First was lunch and were seated by the friendly server. I was worried that we would have to have everyone present to be seated but they made no issue of it. What a pleasant relief. Lunch was good. I had a Goose Island IPA (no local brews unfortunately) and the little ones had hot chocolate. For food I had the poutine, which was ok. I've had better. Fries could have been crunchier, they were soggy and not because of the gravy. Little one had the burger which got rave reviews. Service was very friendly but a little uncoordinated. It's busy, lunch during high season, I get it. Second time was just some drinks. Hot chocolates and import IPA's. Friendly service. Anyways, overall a good experience.
