Stayed here before our Disney Alaska cruise from June 27 to June 29 and again after the cruise on July 6 to July 7, and this is one of the best hotels to stay at if you're sailing out of Canada Place. Location alone makes it worth looking at since it's right there for embarkation and super easy with luggage. What really stood out was how smooth they made everything around the cruise. Porters took our luggage down for us and we tipped about $20 CAD for 4 bags. We were also able to store our extra luggage, stroller, and leave our car seat at the hotel to pick up after the cruise, which made a huge difference traveling with kids. Customer service was excellent too. I liked that whenever you called, they addressed you by name. Small touch but it made it feel a lot more personal. Pricey hotel for sure. Our pre-cruise stay was around $1,200 something for 2 nights, but we used the Chase Reserve Edith credit for $250 off and there was a double points promo, so I ended up using about 49k points total. Post-cruise was about $526 through Amex Platinum FHR and I used the $300 hotel credit there. Both stays also came with a $100 hotel credit plus free breakfast for 2 each day, which helped a lot with the value. We used the hotel credits and also liked that kids 5 and under eat free at dinner. Expensive, but with the right credits and if you're doing a cruise out of Vancouver, I'd absolutely stay here again. read more

The Pacific Rim is the nicer, newer, more upscale property though the Waterfront was great too. Everything just felt a little more dated and more like a business hotel. I did book a promotion that made the 4th night free and included daily breakfast so that definitely increased the value for me. What was great: the hotel's location was ideal for exploring the city and couldn't have been closer to several different transit lines. While we didn't cruise, we enjoyed watching people disembark and embark from the cruise ship and imagine this is one of the best choices for a cruise. There was also a drugstore and starbucks in the basement for easy access. Daily breakfast was tasty with a large selection. We never had a long wait and it fueled us for most of the day. Service was always friendly. Upon check-in we were upgraded to a better view and they did a nice job of acknowledging my husband's birthday by sending up a piece of cake which was very kind! The bed was comfy. What was just ok: parts of the room are showing some age. In addition to high prices in the mini bar and taxes, they also charge a restocking fee which just seems silly and deceptive....include it in the price. read more

My experience at Fairmont Waterfront was phenomenal. The hotel is by the waterfront facing the Port of Vancouver and has a view of Stanley Park. The location is very close to countless eateries, coffee shops, and within the same black as the air train and various bus systems. This made the hotel central to anywhere you'd wish to go within the greater Vancouver area. I booked the hotel through Amex and as a Platinum card member I was able to observe benefits for FH&R membership that allowed me early check in (when available), 4pm check out, $100 USD hotel credit, and $100 CAD dining credit. It proved to be very valuable as I was able to have my room service and meals during my stay comped. I also took advantage of the late check out as my other hotel didn't allow me to check in until close to 4pm. I would gladly return (and actually have another trip to this hotel planned) due to the service, hospitality, and location of this hotel. Amazing through and through. read more

An honest rating of this hotel would be a 3.5, but I'm only rating it is as a 4 after the manager (slightly) rectified the situation and because of the location. We booked here over the long weekend to celebrate our anniversary, which the hotel was made aware of. Not only was there no recognition of that in any way shape or form, the welcome note in our room was also addressed to another couple!!! The room itself was waaaay below expectation - for a "fairmont waterfront". The room at best is a regular 3-star hotel. I was genuinely shocked especially because it wasn't cheap either. If we're looking for a regular/standard type of room, we wouldn't have booked at "the fairmont". My husband brought this to the attention of the manager and insisted that we are given a better room. After persisting, we were given one of three rooms that have been renovated. Beautiful! This should be the standard, not the exception...Come on it's 2026. It would have been nice to have a bottle of champagne, or a plate or fruits, or something to recognize and celebrate our anniversary. Again nothing...disappointing. I've stayed at other hotels in the area (within walking distance) that are fully renovated and stunning, with excellent service. I expected more from Fairmont. Self-parking is 65 dollars and valet parking is 85. Both expensive, so choose your pick! I've uploaded pictures of the renovated room. What an amazing Hotel in an amazing location. The Fairmont Waterfront is noting but pure elegance in such a perfect spot in Vancouver. We checked in and just used a little time to relax in our very spacious room with an amazing view over the cruise port. Since most of you know what a hotel room looks like, I would like to focus on the surrounding area. We had a king size bed in a large room with a large clean bathroom. It was good! The area was fantastic. Just a very short walk to the cruise port and convention center which I had the opportunity to attend a few year's ago, from the hotel. Besides all the views and great walking spots are the restaurants. I feel Vancouver is known for all their fabulous and trendy restaurants as well as the beautiful city. My wife and I along with our friends really enjoyed our short but very meaningful stay here. Getting around was easy, and Uber and Lyft did a great job here. Since the hotel is located downtown, it was easy to get anywhere. While we dis not eat imn the hotel restaurant, I did order some soup one evening, as I was just hanging out in my room. The clam chowder was fantastic and the staff here is marvelous. I am definitely looking forward to any future travels that include Vancouver and another stay at the Fairmont as a destination spot. I stayed in Fairmont Waterfront for 2 nights on business, attending Web Summit in Canada Place next door. Very convenient: close proximity to major convention center, and to so many other attractions. Plus it is waterfront, so this is great location all along. Tasteful common areas, polished and friendly service. Early check in was requested and granted, and so was an upgraded room on 20th floor with the great view. ALL Accor Platinum status helped there. Oh, and front desk personnel was top notch. Nice bar, friendly bartenders. Room was ample sized, well decorated, everything looked clean and fresh. Platinum amenity was also a nice touch. Well stocked and fairly large bathroom. No complaints. Well, it is expensive, and, even with high rates, it was a good value in this case. Would stay there again. read more

This hotel has a stunning view of the sea and skyline! Oh lord it was beautiful during sunrise. I enjoyed waking up to sunshine and a gorgeous view. Only downside was the water pressure is low for my room and it was not quite hot water at some point, lukewarm at best. This place is terrible. DO NOT book with them. I booked in April 2026 at $900 per night. I checked the prices today, June 22, 2026, and saw that the prices for rooms dropped below $400 per room. The hotel refused to adjust the price on my room and refused to allow me to cancel the reservation and rebook at the lower price. WHAT a SCAM and ripoff. The Fairmont Waterfront delivers where it counts: location. Sitting directly across from the cruise terminal, it doesn't get more convenient if you're heading out to sea. Bonus points for the water views, some rooms overlook the harbor, where you can watch sea planes take off. Gastown and Coal Harbour are both a short walk away. Rooms The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but starting to show their age. The decor leans dated, and there's visible wear in spots. It's all perfectly functional, just not particularly modern. You won't find USB ports or more current tech features, which feels like a miss for a hotel in this category. Service Staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient throughout the stay. Everything from check-in to housekeeping was smooth and professional. Dining Can't speak to the restaurants, I didn't try them. But with so much nearby, you're hardly short on options. read more

First time in Vancouver and this was a great location and welcoming staff. The only thing i feel like is a bit much is the parking. Very busy area but we were able to find decent parking nearby. Food was delicous and drinks were really refreshing. The views from the rooms were awesome, during the day and better at night, like looking at a photo. Location is located near shops, great view of the water and resturants. Love that they catered to baby girl, they had a real crib versus a pack and play we have seen at other hotels. First time staying at the Fairmont. A typical Fairmont, in that it has a great location, excellent quality, plenty of amenities, and experienced staff. We stayed a couple of days and were very impressed during our stay. The location is excellent, close to the harbour and all the restaurants and attractions. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well appointed. The beds have some of the best mattresses that we have slept on. Nice pillows, and plenty of them. (they can be a little on the big size, but you can compress them for sleeping). The Consignors are very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. Needed to get a reservation for 6 at a local restaurant, and they were able to make this happen. It's pricey, but a good value when you consider the level of service. read more

The best location! Its bang opposite Canada Place and a lovely hotel. Nicely appointed rooms and bathrooms even though this is an older property. Very well maintained and loved the Le Labo products as amenities. Booked through Amex fine hotels and we were greeted with an upgrade to a higher floor and truffles in the room. They tasted amazing! I wish they sold those (i did ask). Staff was pleasant. It is a busy hotel so expect slightly longer check in lines. Overall a lovely stay. read more

3.8 stars. ​The Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver location has both pros and cons. It is convenient and close to downtown, has a nice view, an outdoor pool (though an indoor one would be better given the cold Vancouver weather most of the year), an indoor hot tub, and a gym. Cons are, there is only one restaurant downstairs, The Arc, which we tried for breakfast and lunch, and the self parking fee of $65/per night is a tad expensive. The walls were extremely thin. we could hear conversations of the guests next door to us, either it's coming through the connecting room door or the walls. The guests weren't yelling or partying, but were swearing a lot, which was unacceptable given I was traveling with my children. When we turned off our TV and lights, in complete silence, we could hear them clearly. It was difficult to sleep as they were talking past 1 AM. My husband called the front desk to notify them, and they said they would have security come upstairs to check. Honestly, I think that was useless, as they weren't partying, it's just the hotel's very thin walls and doors. Hopefully, the situation regarding the soundproofing will have improved the next time we return. read more

A wonderful hotel! The staff were so kind and helpful at every point of my stay. They were quite generous in offering me a free upgrade to a corner suite as well as a welcome drink. The location of this hotel is also so great! It's walking distance to some great restaurants, the Waterfront trail, and the Vancouver Convention Centre. They also are very focussed on sustainability, and they've made efforts to reduce food waste and use compostable single use items. I was staying here on business for an event I was producing, and I also had a wonderful experience with the event staff of the hotel. Stayed here for the weekend. My advice to you is DRESS UP for the bar - has live music and such a fun vibe. Brought my baby and they had so many children's amenities - bottle warmer, crib, lotion, wash, and there's plenty of food you can grab (not free) in fridge and drawers. This is a nice hotel in Vancouver close to the Waterfront. We had a city view room and did not rent a car during our trip. It's close to the train station which is very easy to navigate. It's also close to the sea boat which takes you across the bay to North Vancouver. The room was clean and we had no issues during our stay. The bed was very comfortable, but I had to ask for an extra pillow because theirs were really flat once I lay my head on it. I had to ask for complimentary water, but they were quick to bring it when I called. We reserved complimentary hotel bikes for 2 hours during our stay. That was fun since the bike paths run close to the water and there's beautiful views of the harbor and the city. See the concierge to make reservations in advance. For a great location, stay at the Fairmont Waterfront or any of the other hotels close to it. When we checked in they did try to upsell us to a harbor view for $50 more per night. We declined, but did request a quiet room away from the elevator. We'd stay here again. read more

Just in from San Francisco and of course when in Vancouver we always stay in a golf room in Fairmont Waterfront. We have been coming here for years and we enjoy the individual service we get from being in a gold room service. We get great service and we are able to eat breakfast and dinner on the 9th floor. It's a great way to get a bit of food and enjoy great service for th great price of a room. We have a great view great food and the best personal service from our wonderful help both in the concierge's service we have and the wonderful staff who clean our rooms. The staff are A1 personal who care about making our stay a memorable one! read more

The staff is friendly and great. Very helpful. The MBAs who are in the C suite however need to learn their business. Customer satisfaction is not their priority! When I go to this Fairmont hotel they fill the fridge with drinks and provide no room for guests. Threaten guest to charge them if you put your own food in the fridge. When I go to have breakfast I can't bring in my outside coffee. The coffee in their ARC cafe is not very good. Im not happy. I'm avoiding Fairmont properties in the future. MBAs should not be running businesses as it is satisfaction is their job and they are horrible at it. Back at the Fairmont Waterfront. Who builds a hotel room with 2 outlets, no USB outlets. And the outlets are in the bathroom. View is great but the C suite executives need to understand what makes a product like this. They missed the mark! If you need to park at the hotel, head straight over to Burrard St and turn towards the water. Address is approx 200 Burrard St. From there, head down to either P2 or P3 and follow the signs for hotel parking. There should be an elevator bank near that section in the corner to take you up to the lobby. The hotel is very busy. One of the few places since I've travelled in the past year after the loosening of covid restrictions where I have to constantly wait in line. Waiting in line for the check-in counter, waiting in line for the elevator, waiting for a space in the jacuzzi pool. Waiting seems to be the common theme here. It has a fairly convenient location, right on the water and close to the Waterfront translink station. The staff were curteous and helpful, five stars. I really didn't like the beds though. The mattress seems two sizes too small. I'm not really sure what happened here, but you can clearly see the box/spring underneath. Not very appealing aesthetically. Also not a big fan of the frame sticking out from under the mattress, different from other hotels and habit of walking closer to the mattress made me bump into the frame a few times. Especially with smaller kids around who can sometimes be more careless than me! Also the shower can definitely use a bit more water pressure. Overall it's not a bad hotel, but I just expected more from a Fairmont given the price point and brand. read more

This is absolutely not a property. The place is aging and not gracefully. The bathrooms need work, there are large and small areas needing update, rooms are nothing special, and you have to pay for any amenity you might want to use. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. There's nothing they can do about the lackluster condition of their building. When confronted about the situation, the manager on duty was friendly and as helpful as possible. Ultimately, the problems were beyond her and she released us from the rest of our stay. She was bound by corporate policy and so had few other remedies at her disposal. In the end, I suggest you choose somewhere else. read more

For a hotel, a Fairmont no less, that runs on average $600/night during the summer season, I was really disappointment in the room. I booked a harbor view/Stanley park view, queen/queen, and I was expecting a pristine room. Instead, I received a room that was, at best, 3-star. Don't get me wrong the view was beautiful, but Fairmont clearly should NOT be having guests in these rooms (see attached photos). This is not a Fairmont experience. Not by far. While service is wonderful and staff are great, I'm really disappointment given what Fairmont typically provides. The fitness area is decent, the hot tub is clean, the locker rooms are well-stocked, and the pool area is wonderful BUT, the pool chairs are NOT Fairmont quality - they are cheap, uncomfortable pool loungers, typically found at motel pools. Again, for what we're paying per room, I expect MUCH more. I will say that dining service is great and the outdoor pool is nicely heated, given Vancouver weather. Everything else about the hotel is great, but the rooms... At least the one we were given. read more

We recently stayed here for getaway and parked in the garage, P2. It was very convenient because you could take an elevator to check in lobby. Due to my credit card benefit, we were able to update our room with harbor view. The staff were friendly and helpful to make our stay wonderful. They had live music from Thursdays to Sunday nights. We went to the restaurant, the Arc for breakfast and enjoyed fresh ingredients. The location was excellent because restaurants and shops are in walking distance. Stayed at this hotel for a week during my recent trip to Vancouver. We had a Fairmont Gold room with amazing ocean and city views. It was super luxurious with access to exclusive private Gold Lounge, personalized VIP concierge services and complimentary breakfast, snacks throughout the day, evening canapes and dessert. Various beverages (tea, espresso coffee, juices, ales, hard liquor) were available to choose from at any hour of the day. The roof top provided some of the best views Vancouver has to offer. The gym had all essential equipment to provide a full body workout with relaxing pool and city views. Definitely enjoyed the hot tub too! The rooms are nice spacious and well equipped and clean. The beds were comfortable and the employees are friendly. We also enjoy eating at the Arc restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is free there with your room. It's super simple to go on a cruise as they will deliver your bags to the ship and you can just go walk across and board the ship. The review would have been five stars except they put us in the wrong room and didn't have a different room for us to go to. The Fairmont Waterfront is located across the street from the Pan Pacific Hotel with it's large white iconic sails at the waterfront aka Vancouver Harbour. This Fairmont as opposed to the very chic ultra luxurious Fairmont Pan Pacific (a block away) or the older but elegant, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (across from the Vancouver Art Gallery), has many things going for it! Rooms are swanky & comfy, excellent location for sightseeing & quick access point to waterfront or downtown, ARC restaurant, heated pool & hottub, friendly warm staff & Miku restaurant across the street. Having stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel last summer, I've come to fall in love with the Fairmont brand. Fairmont Waterfront is luxurious & although many prefer the Fairmont Pacific Rim (you'll be needing the Black Card to stay there), I recommend you stay here & save that money for the fabulous weekend brunch buffet! See my ARC review for pix! A large spectacular rooftop heated pool, hottub & gym make this hotel a great place to stay! Being at the waterfront means quick access to the seabus if you want to go over to the North Shore. This location is great for walkers or joggers - Coal Harbour area & Stanley Park minutes away & a comfortable 15min walk over to Robson Street. Historic Gastown is an easy 5min walk over & you're on Water Street. If you fly into Vancouver, you can take the Canada Line train from YVR Airport straight to downtown waterfront, then wheel your luggage over - 5mins from Waterfront Station to the hotel. Easy! Staying at a Fairmont your expectations will always be met or exceeded. There were at least three other Fairmont locations nearby but love love this location. Central to downtown Vancouver and all the great eateries, Stanley Park, Granville Island, and so much more to explore, it was a perfect place to escape and explore Canada's winter. Service is impeccable here. You'll always be treated well. Note, there is no valet but if you park at Easy Park parcade across the Waterfront Centre, it's affordable and convenient. Our room 2324 offered the perfect view of the skyline and Stanley Park. The fitness and pool area is immaculate and offers great amenities so you can stay on track of fitness goals while vacationing. Dining at ARC is wonderful and suggest reservations during your stay. If you forego the in room coffee, plenty of coffee shops and Starbucks located nearby. Note, if you move anything in the minibar, the sensors will think you partaked. So be careful of potential charges however, the hotel will adjust any incorrect charges willingly and kindly. Travel is an investment in yourself. The goal is to collect memories and not just dreams. You only live once. But if you do it right, once is enough. So book a room here and go explore! read more

Nice clean rooms with great views. You can watch cruise ships come and go on one side and seaplanes on the other. Staff if very courteous and accommodating. I only give 3 stars because I can't even put water in the fridge to get cold. There are 2 bottles of water at room temp but they charge you to drink them. There is no room in the refrigerator if you want to bring your own. It is full of items that charge you if you rearrange anything. The Arc Bar is insanely priced. I ordered 2 Tito's and soda, $55. The bar across the street charged $22. The hotel is just gouging since we are here. I would just rather walk across the street and pay normal prices. This place would 5 stars easily if it weren't for those two issues. read more

He also laid out all the amex fine hotel credits. $100 for food; in room dining, and minibar. Breakfast included. Complimentary check in your luggage but gratuity based. Absolutely ruined my brother's 50th birthday and Christmas!!! I've tried everything to reserve my brother's birthday on my Canadian Visa Card. Turns out I can't use it as a credit card because it is a Virtual Visa Debit which they can not accept. Why didn't you tell me a few days ago when I sent it to you?? This completely rude manager named Michael Zhuang accused me of fraud. The reason why I don't want to use my American money is my business because I have Canadian funds in Canada to use! I am not a fraud! Shame on you for not resolving this issue and making these accusations! You didn't even try to use my Amex but labeled me which is discriminatory! My poor brother is there ready to celebrate and you ruined his birthday and Christmas. Never will stay at the Fairmont Waterfront it's been a disaster. Fast forward Mena Naji called me back and confirmed they wouldn't have been able to process my credit card on the same day with a bunch of excuses pertaining to internal policies and procedures which sounds like a bunch of nonsense. I have been coming to the Fairmont Waterfront twice a year for over 10 years for an annual meeting. This by far has been the worst experience. Upon check in I was asked if I wanted them to look for any upgrades; I declined, because I've always been happy with my room. I went to check into my room and realized I was right by the elevator. I immediately got back on the elevator and down to the desk to ask if they could find me a different room because I had an early meeting and the rooms by the elevator are extremely loud. They all of the sudden had no rooms left. Not even 5 min from when they were offering an upgrade to now having no rooms. I went back to my room, unpacked, ordered food, and got ready for bed. Being from Southern California, comparing this hotel to the top name brands that I know, such as Hilton, Doubletree, Hyatt, Marriott etc, there is nothing like the Fairmont Waterfront in Southern California that I have experienced. Their restaurant products and service they offer is outstanding! The quality of the food and service at their restaurant(ARC) is completely other worldly! A grand slam. If you visit here don't miss their salmon dinner which comes with steamed, asparagus (perfect), cherry tomatoes that are lightly stir fried with slight amount of oil. This salmon was the best I've ever tasted. To top it off along with the dinner meal there was an outstanding vocalist/guitarist doing some songs by such pop artists as Adam Levine, Elton John, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Tracy Chapman, Ed Sheeran. I would have paid to go see him in concert. We are planning our next trip here now Like said 5 stars does not do this place justice. read more
