This place is old school. The waitresses are all seasoned who know at least 50% of the people in the place and if they don't they still treat you like a good meal and good service are a cure all. The rapport with the waitresses and cooks have is the the flow that only comes with ages. This dinner is really nice on the inside - the chrome shined up, the wood well cared for, and countless years in the table tops making it feel homey. I thought the food was fine but it's really the atmosphere that's the best part. They have a big parking lot which surrounds the diner like it's an island. Great experience. Saturday morning and it was packed! We wait 10 mins to get seated. Got coffee n water almost immediately. We ordered the Philly omelette. It came in less than a minutes! Home fries were delish, toast thick. My hubs n I split it. Plenty for two. The omlette was just meh... had almost no flavor but overall a great experience with excellent staff and service. Absolutely loved the food for many years due to people working there who were family. Although I love the servers especially Mary she is amazing. I have lost the liking of this diner. Two things happened there while I was pregnant and have not gone back since. First one was an egg and olive sandwich bit into when I got home full of shells threw it all up( A waste.) so upset I was so hungry with my pregnancy. Second I had waited 30 minutes for a sunny side egg for my eggs Benedict had to go in and out of the restaurant for it be so so hot and the food came sliced into the egg and a long black womens hair was in it. The women in the back do not wear hair nets and I think it's absolutely disgusting! So sad this has ruined my favorite all time place. :(( read more

A hidden gem in the Fingerlakes. We sat at the counter on a busy Friday night. The place was hopping. The wait staff knew everyone by name, yet made my wife and I feel welcome as visitors. Our server was a hoot! She narrated what was going on, interacted with the kitchen and patrons, and brought wonderful energy and humor. We loved the show! When the food came I was impressed. The fish was crispy and tasty, seasoned perfectly. The Mac and cheese was authentic and delicious. This was the most fun I've had in a long time. We can't wait to come see them again in August. Place was packed. I waited not 3-5 minutes and me and my wife were seated brought coffee right away. I highly recommend the big breakfast eggs cooked to perfection pancakes were friggin amazing. Don't think I was in there more than 20 plus minutes. Can't comment on the home grid that came with my breakfast cause I don't like them. 5 stars. Staff was prompt curious and quick. Looking for some lunch is downtown Auburn, checked Yelp! of course, and .4 miles away was the Diner and 4 1/2 stars! Only open until 2:00, we hustled over and were lucky enough to get a booth because they were still packed and more coming in behind us! Seems everybody knew everybody coming in (reminded me of Cheers!), the service was quick and friendly. Being a Friday (later learned on Friday's they were open until 8:00) they had a fish sandwich which I ordered. It came out and was absolutely HUGE! It dwarfed the bun and had to use a fork and knife for most of the meal! Ordered a side of onion rings and had almost too many to finish - almost! We'll be back next time in Auburn and highly recommend! You won't be disappointed. read more

I LOVE this place! A good, old-fashioned, greasy spoon, hash slingin' kind of diner. It's very clean, it's busy, the waitresses fly around like they're on roller skates and the short-order kitchen guy is a smart ass. The decor is, well, diner! The tops are 50's style (red) laminate edged with chrome and stools topped off with metalflake padded vinyl. What's not to love? The place was packed when I arrived, well after the lunch hour on a Saturday yet, and pushing close to closing time. Just the same, I was welcomed in as long as I would sit at the counter. The booths were all full. A group of three arrived right after I placed my order and one of the waitresses did a head count and said, no, they would have to wait. They are obviously adhering to the governor's decree limiting crowd size. By the way, there's a patio with tables outside, the weather was abnormally warm for November and several folks were dining outside. I ordered a couple of scrambled eggs with toast. (I don't eat much.) My eggs were fluffy, the wheat toast was commercial bakery bread but was fine. A small bowl in front of me was filled with pre-packaged jellies, jams, and marmalade, you know the white packages because they're in use everywhere. The place was filled with regulars, it seemed like everyone knew everyone else. No one knew me at all (I'm from WAY out of town) but I was treated like a daily regular. Fun place! This is a good place to eat, but oftentimes, you have to wait. We went on a Monday morning (which was a great time to go) and had a big breakfast that was awesome. I was looking for a quick diner breakfast and this place popped up on my search so I made my way here. The place is small and the parking lot was packed. It was only me so I told the hostess the bar was fine if one came available. The waitress was quick to bring me coffee and take my order. I got one of the breakfast specials. Scrambled eggs, sausage, and has browns with toast. The eggs were definitely scrambled on the flat top because it was a tie dye mix of white and yellow. Not cool. You're not that busy to grab a bowl or have some pre scrambled. And the toast had the bare minimum amount of butter. It was like they took the tip of the knife on the edge and put a 3mm dab of it on there. Do I expect more from diners, probably. read more

This place has it all. excellent service excellent food in an iconic setting with enjoyable staff.

We loved it. Our party of 10 with 3 dogs rolled in to the packed AD. The crowd was already heavy. A few of us only had an hour before our Harriet Tubman tour. The staff, led by Kim, was exceptional. Hot coffee, refilled often all why we were entertained by a local who was a stand up welcoming fellow. Look at the pictures. Food was over the top fantastic. The big breakfast was a hit. read more

I've never had a bad meal here! Definitely the perfect place to grab some truly American comfort food. I tend to get the hot turkey sandwich which is delish! They also have breakfast all day which is always a plus. The service is always prompt and friendly, whether you're in a booth or at the counter. Their hours are a little funky, so come early (before 2 pm most days) so you won't be disappointed.
