The food and the service were very good. The seating was a bit cramped, and arriving on a busy Saturday in February turned out to result in a significant wait for a table. There were some samples to try while we waited, however, so that was nice. Essentially, this is like a local version of a Cracker Barrel complete with a shop of interesting things. The breakfast skillet was tasty and I really enjoyed their toast. The burger was seared well for flavor, but still juicy and the fries had good flavor and crispiness. New hope mills has excellent mixes. Their pumpkin and buttermilk mix is excellent, especially if you substitute buttermilk for water. We were excited to have breakfast here. The service was great. Unfortunately the pancakes were terrible. A real disservice to the brand. They had no color, looked like they were cooked in no butter. Very dry and crumby. Finally made it here! Love the pancake and waffle mixes always wanted to eat here. Early Saturday morning made the 45 minute drive to check it off my to go list. Greeted warm and friendly hostess said about 30 minute wait. Not much seating so we decided to browse the small store area next to the eating area. maybe 15 minutes later our tracker vibrated and we were graciously seated. A few minutes later our waitress came to take drink orders. There was an iced dark chocolate with milk, whipped cream and crumbles sounded great but it was cold out and I was looking for something hot. The waitress said she would figure out a way and it would be hot. We had browsed the menu and ordered. I chose waffle over pancake with blueberry for my base and crumb topping added on an egg and home fries with onions. My co-eater chose 3 eggs over easy bacon ham and home fries adding a pancake and a birch beer soda. The waffle was light with a perfect crisp outside flakey blueberry inside and a brown sugary crunch topping. Egg medium cooked just right. Home fries are actually deep fried premade home fries but good and crispy and onions pan fried just enough to lightly carmelize. The 3 eggs were ordered over easy came out very medium. Pancake was banana caramel light and fluffy a little shy on flavors but good. That hot chocolate was to die for and I would go back just for that honestly. Overall came to $30 and change plus tip. Service was beyond excellent and our waitress was a lot of fun. Good value nice breakfast great service. Small dining area so expect to wait or go early for breakfast. I come here frequently enough, that Connie the chef, whom I considered to be the queen of soups, stops by our table to say hello. Extremely friendly and relaxed environment with great pricing. Cute brunch cafe! I stumbled upon this place, and the interior is absolutely beautiful! Very rustic and homey vibes. They also sell their famous pancake mixes of every flavor you can think of from classic buttermilk to apple cinnamon to birthday cake to pumpkin spice. They also have jams, jellies, brownie and cookie mixes, soup ingredients, honey, kitchenware and souvenirs, and so much more. I ordered a single Apple Cinnamon Pancake and their Breakfast tacos. The pancakes were a bit underwhelming to be honest. They were fluffy and soft, but not much Apple or cinnamon flavor. It was nice with the salted butter and maple syrup, but I had expected more of an Apple cinnamon profile. The breakfast tacos consisted of 2 giant buttermilk pancake with scrambled eggs, peppers, sausage, and cheese. It was extremely filling, and the sausage had good flavor and meshed well with cheese and seasoned eggs. It was good overall, but not extraordinary and probably wouldn't get again. They also have samples around the store, and the Honey roasted peanut butter was the best peanut butter I've ever had. It had the perfect savory, nutty balance with the sweet roasted honey flavors. It was amazing with crackers too. Their Brownies were incredibly chocolately and had a lovely cakey, texture that simply melted in my mouth. Their giant chocolate cookie was also pretty good--crispy exterior and soft interior. I would have liked it to be a bit softer and chewier but still decent nonetheless. Overall, it's a cute brunch spot, and the staff were all very welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Love the the warm feeling you get when you walk in. We found this place while out on a Doctor appointment for my Great Niece who is having twin boys! Service was a bit wonky. Nice but a little slow and I did not know for sure who was waiting on us. There is a bit of a wait. I ordered a waffle and my niece had pancakes and eggs. It looked so good. The berries I had where fresh but had no juice or sugary syrups, that was disappointing. Mine was no hot at all not sure if hers was. I ate it and sent halfe home with her. They have a shop to buy food items and home made goods. We did pick up a few cookies for her little ines at home. I did enjoy it non the less. We went out to New Hope Mills to experience this great atmosphere of a place. When entering the parking lot be careful there are a bit of pot holes. The inside is great warm welcome. Great shop to find little things. Don't forget to pick up your favorite pancake mix. We sat down about 15 minute wait. The waitress was amazing. I ordered pancakes Carmel banana, bacon, home fries, and toast. The toast was amazing and pancakes as well. The only thing is home fries are regular deep fried type not homemade. In the middle of rural New York, New Hope Mills is a gem! I visited my family for a week and they raved about this place every day and how wonderful it is! Thankfully I got to experience this myself as well! This restaurant is tucked alongside the road in what looks like a barn. There is any expansive parking lot that can handle more cars than the restaurant can seat. There is both inside and outside seating. The weather is beautiful so take advantage of the fresh air if there's a table available. On the inside there is both a restaurant and a shopping area. It reminded me of going into Cracker Barrel and I love me some Cracker Barrel. This shop is full of food items as well as household goodies. I was amazed at all the delicious smelling candles, 10+ types of pancake mix including gluten free options and well as all the dips/jams. The menu is expansive-there is both a breakfast and lunch menu. I chose the shredded chicken tacos off of the breakfast menu and they were delicious. Sadly they didn't come with the corn jalapeño pancakes as described on the menu which took away from the overall flavor. This is a cute place to eat with family and friends! read more

I struggled with whether this should be 3 or 4 stars. The menu options were good and so was the food, but nothing about it was great. I try to look at things through the lens of current events and ask if any thing is simply due to the limitations of the pandemic. In this case I think it would still be a 3. Everything was good, but nothing was great. I had a BLT with French Onion Soup. The BLT was good, adequate amount of bacon but not a lot. The soup was very good. The service was slow; we were the only ones there and it was still slow. All in all, it's worth going to once for the novelty if you are a fan of New Hope Mills products, and I wouldn't avoid the place, however I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. read more

While staying at one of the local hotels, we asked for a good local spot. The two employees at the hotel both said you must eat at New Hope Mills. It's a local favorite that guests always love too. They were right. So happy we asked! Always ask a local. They know best. My husband absolutely loves breakfast. I knew we had to try it. So happy that we did! He loves pancakes and theirs were huge. He could only eat two. I'm really glad I tried them. They were so light and fluffy. I'm obsessed with corned beef hash. Theirs was the perfect amount and very good. We also got a chocolate milkshake to mix it up. It was creamy and delicious. When checking out, a local told us we must try a chocolate chip cookie. So glad we did! They were so moist and delicious as a snack when traveling. We loved their gift shop and got so many goodies. I wish they were closer. We made their biscuits at home. At first, we were a little intimidated because we had never done it before but it was pretty easy and they were so worth it. Unreal! My husband also loves the grits they bought. My mother in law loved the chocolate chip cookie mix we bought her. My mom absolutely loves the orange marmalade. Everything is so reasonably priced. Wish we lived closer. Lunch at the New Hope Mills Cafe made it a well worthwhile trip to Auburn, NY. Auburn is well known as the site of one of NY's maximum security prisons, but the architecture of the old mansions in the residential area are a senic triumph for the visitor to relish. Speaking of relish, there was none on my plate, but the thick bacon BLT I enjoyed for lunch was perfection. Meg's roast beef sandwich with mac & cheese, and our guest's enormous cheesburger were reportedly delicious. Portions were filling, and the ladies had to carry the leftovers home to enjoy later. We were seated immediately, and our server was not only delightful, but efficient, leaving us wanting nothing. The store. Ah, the store. We shopped among the various flours they produce at the actual mill, and found some other objects to buy as well. The ladies ended up with pancake, and corn bread mixes. I found chocolste covered peanut clusters and a couple of huge cookies to carry out. There's tons of neat stuff to select from, so be sure to peruse the shelves. We stopped here on the way to Aurora, NY. It's about 30 minutes from there. I'm glad we did! It was an interesting place, and store! They have samples of jam and crackers too right as you enter. I tried the pumpkin spice jam - it was so perfect! I knew after trying that I would enjoy the food here. Their mask rules are pretty lax, and to waitresses didn't wear any either. It didn't bother me too much. We had pretty quick service here which was perfect. There were a bunch of people still here for lunch around 1:30 PM! I ordered the eggs your way and my husband ordered a breakfast bowl. The egg whites with veggies (inside and American cheese) were delightful! Not too heavy! Their potatoes tasted exactly like a French fry which I didn't object to. The toast - I put strawberry jam on it which was amazing. All in all a great experience and I know my husband enjoyed his food. Honestly the only reason this is rated a 4 is because I wanted a soup and they didn't have any non-beef/non-meat options! This was a gem of a place! Unusual, quaint, clean and the food was great and the service excellent. My friends and I had brunch like items; waffle hamburger, crepes, and corn jalapeño pancake tacos. Each of us was satisfied with the portion size and quality. Coffee was good too. And the bonus brownie at the end was delicious. The shopping inside was awesome. So many things to purchase.
