My tee time was around 10:20 AM, and after the first couple holes I settled in and had a genuinely good time. The course was in decent shape, the staff was friendly, and while it is not the fanciest course around, it felt like a good value. Sometimes good enough plus friendly people is all you need. I played a 18 hole round yesterday that took 5 hrs 14 min. There were multiple groups of 5 players ahead of my FOURSOME and at least one 5 person group behind us!!! Also NO MARSHAL in the course. My recommendation is that if you have over5 hours to spend and if you don't mind waiting on virtually every shot then play Auburn! If not then don't give them the satisfaction of taking your money!! Great course to play. We go here very often because of how close it is. Pro: semi wide course. Just so long as you do not slice your ball, you're good. Really fun and challenging up hill and down hill holes. Par 15 is my favorite. There are 2 honey buckets. Con: be aware of geese shit near any water bearings. Also front desk Asian guy not so nice when you ask questions. Better to get the older guy with glasses. He's more receptive. Overall this course is nice. One thing I'd recommend for the course is to add another restroom in the back nine. read more

I went to this course for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised for a few reasons and little disappointed for some. NEGATIVE: 1.) Let's just start with getting a tee time here...just a nightmare. 95% of the time I called they are all booked or have something only after 6 pm. You have to schedule your tee time out like a dentist visit like a week or more in advance. 2.) When I was playing coming down 7, 8 and 9...there was people eating on the patio and letting their kids do cartwheels on the greens and yelling and screaming. Had NO control of their children. Acted like it was a McDonalds playpen. Like geez, quit being so trashy at a "gentleman's" golf course. 3.) Their is a public park by the Green River that borders multiple holes on the front 9. There was people partying there that were yelling in our backswings. Not necessarily the course's fault but good golfers should know this. 4.) They pile groups on top of each other. When we played (a buddy and me who are both 7 handicaps or better) there was a group behind us hitting into us the whole day. Man, didn't you see there was like 3 groups teeing off back-to-back-to-back? Stay the fuck back (bad golf edicate). POSITIVES: 1.) The course was in good condition. Well mowed. Good greens and didn't notice anything wrong on the Greenskeepers part. Hats off to that! 2.) The course is pretty challenging but not ridiculous. I noticed the par 3s are the big testers on this course. Lots of long par 3s and some (hole 16) where there is water in front and left and OB on right...gotta have skills on that one. 3.) A lot of imaginative holes. Holes that are blind with big drop-offs. Holes going almost straight uphill. The back 9 are way more imaginative and fun than the front in my opinion. 4.) The prices are good compared to a lot of courses. Think I paid $30 for 18 walking. Overall, I like this course and will try to play again read more

Golf, beer karts, fun! This is a great course I hadn't golfed in about three years, and this was the first time I golfed in the PNW since moving out here in 2008. A great course too, greens are tidy and the fairways well maintained. The only issue I had was I noticed some thoughtless golfers had driven a cart through a sand-trap. UN COOL. read more

I've played this course many times. The course is always well maintained, however they do seem to schedule tee times a little too close together. This post is about my experience yesterday. I played in a small tournament and, upon leaving, I left a pullover in the basket on the cart. I called the Pro Shop inquiring about it and they said it had not been turned in. I called again the next morning and they said it still had not been turned in. I figured it was gone for good. In the afternoon I happened to be in the area and decided to stop by and check in person. To my surprise they had my pullover behind the counter !! Thank you for the honesty of the guys that clean out and charge the carts. And thank you to the Pro Shop guys for holding for me. My faith in Humanity has been restored a little bit. read more

A new renovation has brought Auburn Golf Course into the new decade. Course was in great shape and the new layout makes it more of a challenge. However, it's still to similar to the old course, thus making it not too difficult for a scratch player. Greens fees are really reasonable and the course stays pretty dry throughout the year. I prefer Auburn over way easier courses like Maplewood and Riverbend. While it isn't the toughest challenge in the area, it's never the less an enjoyable round. read more

I did not have a good experience at this course. I had taken my significant other there too play her first ever 18 holes. Which we told the pro shop in the beginning that it was her first time and on the turn to the 10th the young man at the pro shop counter decided that we were taking to long and told us that we should have been close to being done. The front 9 took us about 2 hours and 30 mins and myself and we had also stopped and grab food from the bar real quick too. I'm an a year around golfer and have been golfing for many years and and I have never encountered such disrespect for someone trying to learn before and I've played almost 6 hour games before. So that being said if your just starting out or not a fast pace player this is not the course for you. read more

So I was in the bar the other day after a great round of golf and the owner of the joint literally belittled one of his employees to the point that he quit. This owner of this place is a real class act to treat his employees this way.. I love this course. Today I went on as a single and ended up with 3 other golfers. An 11 year old, a 13 year old, and a 15 year old. The kids were nice, had taken a few golf lessons, but could not hit the ball at all. I would hit, then they would each hit 7-10 shots, then I'd get to hit again. The 11 year old had the attention span of a squirrel and would just hit the ball around the fairway at will. He even hit off the blue tees without a word from mom. Even hitting me once. They had no etiquette at all and the two moms that walked with them knew nothing about golf. They quit at nine and I went back to the pro shop for a refund. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I was told there was nothing they can do because I "played" the front nine. They credited me for the back nine. I did not bother keeping score on the front because the rhythm and pace of play was awful. They need to designate the tee time to know they were juniors. This was not a good experience. read more

The back 9 is a lot of fun but the front 9 is very boring. Greens are in ok shape but I again believe that the price is not worth the course. And we set a tee time but had to wait for 5 other groups to go before us. Why set tee times if they won't honor them. Had to wait for the bartenders to get done chatting before they would help us. So not good service but the food is normally pretty good. I've tried to golf there 4 times this year and even signed up for couples league and ever time we got a refund and went to Washington National and the cost was less and the course is much much better. read more

This course lets groups of 6 play. Theres two groups of 6 and a group of 5 in front of us and its going to be 3 hrs for 9 holes. Ive been playing golf for 30 yrs and have never seen this before. I will never play here again read more

I might be a bit biased because its close to home and I go to this course regularly. The staff that runs the course is friendly, helpful and easygoing. The course is kept in very good condition and is quite scenic with very nice holes overlooking the surrounding valley. There's some fairly challenging uphill and fun downhill holes. The 16th hole with the fountain is beautiful and well landscaped. Regular Price is a bit higher compared to other city courses, but they have leagues and memberships where course fees are discounted. Another plus is its not as busy as other nearby courses like Kent Riverbend. The restaurant attached to this course is ok...its fancy for auburn but food is average. read more

This weekend was the third time we've been to Auburn Golf and we love it. The course is really great - the front nine is pretty straight and flat, but the back nine is all over the place (in a good way)! They keep up the course really well even when it gets pretty muddy. A lot better than other courses anyway. On a side note we've had the best luck each time we've gone with the people we get paired with. Not necessarily kudos for the golf course on that, probably luck, but I guess good people like to golf there! The restaurant - Copper Falls - is really good. I'll write a separate review for that. I do wish though that they had something in between the kind of fine dining that the restaurant is and the meager snacks in the pro shop. It's nice to grab something really quick when you're going from the front nine to the back, but there isn't much time. That's my only complaint though. We'll be going back. read more

Course is in nice shape, but it's a bit wet for the dry weather. They need to water a bit less and the course could still stay in great shape. When a ball plugs on a tee shot in hot dry July that is a bad sign. read more

DO NOT GOLF HERE! Super rude staff. This is a public course, but they act like they're some exclusive high-class place. Our friend is a beginner, and it takes time to learn how to play golf. The marshal came and basically harassed us to hurry up. We let people play through and pass us, but he was so incredibly rude. He made our friend so uncomfortable, she quit. Maybe if they didn't schedule tee times two minutes apart, it wouldn't clog up. Terrible place, bad course. read more

After reading the reviews I was hesitant. But got a tee time on a Saturday at 7:45am...Got off right on time and it took 3 1/2 hours to play. Staff was great, restaurant great and price was great. I will say after reading the reviews especially one about a avid golfer. No avid golfer tee's it up at noon. We avid golfers all know that is just begging for slow play anywhere. read more

June 2015 - Went for dinner with multiple couples to the latest Auburn Golf course restaurant, it's changed hands a few times in the past years and unfortunately the latest restaurant operation did not offer us any entrées to rave about. Specifically a few of our main courses were not flavorful. Typical nothing special, same lousy fare as expected for Auburn's general restaurant offerings. Wasn't worth the time or trouble to send any of our food back to the kitchen, as it was apparent their cook staff is equal to that found at most any Denny's diner. So disappointed as Auburn is in need of better quality cuisine options! No need to revisit this one anytime soon. read more

The golf course is great if you just evaluate the course. Not expensive and amazing scenery. My frustration with this course is; 1) the pro shop crowds the golf course. I have played 4 times this year and we waited 10-15 minutes every hole. At every tee box there will be 2-3 foursomes in front of you. Expect slow play! 2) This course attracts your denim cut off wearing tank top golfer who will hit into your group. I have witnessed several potential fights because of the slow play. 3) be prepared to be paired up with non-etiquette golfers. Where does one start... We got there later than we wanted due to traffic and our tee time was set for 12:45. Good thing because we planned on hitting a small bucket to warm up but they don't have a range. 15 minutes to spare we putted a little and got in a line of carts to start. Play was very slow and the Marshall sucked. He was rude to us on the back nine telling us we needed to move it along when we were waiting an average of 5-10 minutes at each tee for the groups ahead of us. He was poorly managing play today. Our third to our party is a very avid golfer got upset after nine and went home. The front nine took us 2:45 which was way to long. We finished in over 5 hours with just a pair on the back. Anyways a nice course, we may try it again but I hope they figure their shit out. read more

A good golf course for the money, but the pace of play can be a bit slow as other users have mentioned. Not too narrow, which is good for someone who has a bit of a slice like I do. The food in the restaurant is pretty good as well. The only thing missing is a driving range. read more

I guess I should write reviews when I've had a good experience, but unfortunately nothing sets me off more than having a bad experience somewhere. Played at Auburn golf course 2 weeks ago and half enjoyed a 4.5hr round of golf. My buddy is a scratch golfer and I'm right behind him, but today, my group was accused of playing slow and asked to pick up the pace. I've NEVER been asked to pick up the pace EVER. We had a scramble tournament playing ahead of us and the front nine plus 2 holes where they were in front of us took over 3 hrs. Then, on the 14th hole, we were asked to pick up the pace because no one was in front of us. At that point we were 4 minutes ahead, but jr ranger was now timing us after my exchange of words with him. By 16, I was too irritated to even play, and when I talked to the pro shop, their offer was 9 holes for free for each of us...Auburn, you can keep your 9 holes and stick it somewhere. We will never come back! And I hope if anyone reads this, they will take my advice and find somewhere else to play. NEVER, EVER AGAIN! I'm a retired avid golfer and I live in Auburn. I play 2-3 times a week at courses across the region and have a great appreciation for a well run course. I had been horribly disappointed by Auburn Golf course 3 years ago after a SIX AND A HALF HOUR ROUND on a horrendously overloaded course. When a friend invited me to play there today (Friday) I reluctantly agreed to give them another chance. What a HUGE mistake! Our tee time was for 11:37. We were present, loaded up and ready to play by 11. They were starting everyone off on number 10 and there were 12-14 carts backed up waiting to get underway. We finally hit our first shot at 12:15! Nearly 40 MINUTES BEHIND from the very beginning. From that point on we waited 15-20 minutes before EVERY SINGLE SHOT! By 1:40 PM we had played all of THREE HOLES ... a full TWO HOURS after our original tee time! This course appears incapable of proper course management and is willing to accept money from as many people willing to give it to them REGARDLESS of pace of play. Do yourself a huge favor and NEVER waste your time or money on this course!! read more

Great place, love the staff here, always great food at Bogeys! I have to say the most disappointing thing about this place is the complete lack of women's items in the pro shop. I have been on the ladies league for 3 years and LOVE it, but for all 3 years there has been little to no selection for us ladies in the store! A handful of shirts, gloves and hats! (None of which are cute at all!!!! Seriously guys if you need help selecting some ladies clothing just ask me for help!!!) Which is a shame because we get a discount and ladies LOVE TO SHOP!!!!! They are really missing out on sales here! Especially since this year there is nearly 80 women in the ladies league! I have not seen any women's clubs or bags for purchase in all 3 years. I think I've seen one choice of shoes? I LOVE buying new golf apparel and am currently shopping for a new putter and driver but guess I'll have to go to pro golf discount for that! They say we can "order" stuff but I hate to wait! Would be so much nicer to have stuff in store. read more

For a muni course the grounds and facilities are maintained beautifully. The course has a nice layout and the greens fees are very affordable. Unfortunately those low green fees come at a price..the course is loaded with a certain clientele ( tank tops, camo and ciggarettes) that doesn't follow common golfer courtesy. Keep your eyes open for people that hit right in to you and don't know how to yell "fore." Expect to be in confrontations with other golfers.. read more
