This should only take place while the line is hot, and pointing down range while on a picnic tables; not on the tailgate, trunk or hood of a vehicle. 2-I had the only open chamber indicators. 3-A shooter was using metal targets at 15 yards. The range runs to approximately 400 yards. There are about six picnic tables made of a stone material oriented with the long side parallel to a target. If they were bench-rests they'd be oriented with the long side perpendicular to the target with two seats. Whatever you shoot consider having something to cover the area of the table you are using. There are no restrooms. You could be isolated here so if there's an accident bring help may take awhile.

Unfortunately, this was the most uncomfortable range experience I've had anywhere. The very first thing that was said to me when I arrived was that I should "join the women's club," as if I didn't belong in the same space as the men. That tone set the stage for the rest of the visit. The rules here are far beyond what I've ever seen at other ranges, and instead of feeling safe and structured, it felt unnecessarily restrictive and time-wasting. I planned to spend about an hour; it took double that because nothing is automated. There are no automatic targets -- every adjustment requires a ceasefire, then waiting again to bring your target back. You can't move your target to an intermediate distance for rifles. it's either very close or all the way downrange, and they don't let you stand up to shoot unless it is all the way downrange. I don't use a scope, so I had to sit down to shoot. During ceasefires, you're not allowed to approach the bench at all -- not to grab water, not to pick up your phone, not to adjust anything. On top of that, they have strict rules about how your guns can be stored. You can't keep them in their cases unless they are placed exactly where they want them, and staff will physically move or reposition your firearms without asking. As a beginner trying to get more comfortable with my own equipment, this did not feel like a supportive environment. The atmosphere came across as controlling and patronizing, not educational or welcoming. I had actually planned to purchase a membership when I arrived, but the process takes several days to "approve," which made no sense. I had also tried to sign up for a class beforehand and discovered they don't accept online or automatic payments -- only checks or in-person drop-offs. Between that and the outdated systems at the range, the entire operation feels very old-fashioned and unnecessarily difficult for the public to engage with. Other ranges I've visited have been friendly, modern, and willing to help beginners. This was the first time I've been told to go be with "other women," the first time I couldn't move a target with a simple button press, and the first time the environment made me feel like I didn't belong. I would not recommend this range unless you absolutely have no alternative. There are far more welcoming and modern facilities in the area for new shooters.

That made a huge difference because walking into a range as a newbie can feel a little intimidating. Once I got to my lane, I was only there for about 30 minutes, but I enjoyed every minute of it. My confidence definitely grew, and I left feeling way more comfortable than when I walked in. Overall, great first experience. If you join the club you might get a chance to shoot at the 500 yard and 1000 yard when you join the ranks of bring qualified to join the ranks it is the only range i will go in the area. Together we've been to an indoor range in North Highlands that ai frequent, and the Mather shooting range before it closed. We came out here on a Sunday after so she could test out her new pistol, and so we could my rifles on the rifle side of the range. We checked in the main shop area, and picked up a speed loader and extra disposable ear plugs. And then eventually went out to the pistol range first. Both the pistol and long gun range alike, have a large number of shooting bags each. And each have a good range distance for shooting, wapwxially the rifle range. Definitely will be coming back for more outdoor shooting, and look forward to some long range shooting as well.

I came with a group of 6 and it was busy on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the targets aren't lined up well at the 25 yard lane. All of the 50 yard lanes were occupied. We tried the 100 yard lane but it's kind of difficult cause they have a huge wood partition covering. Plenty of parking Service was nice from the lady at the counter.

decent shooting range. you need gps to find it. so many county roads out in the country to get…read morethere. my first time shooting there even though i've shot at other shooting ranges. check in at the office, pay the $15 if you're a non member, grab your target attached to cardboard backing and head to the shooting lanes. there are 3 shooting lane sections that are separated. 7 yards (8 lanes), 15 yards (2 lanes) and 25 (12 lanes) yards in one section, 50 yards (13 lanes) in the other section, 100 yards (11 lanes) in the other section. for some reason the 50 and 100 yard lanes has a partition or wall beyond the shooting benches. you have get the roving rangemasters attention to have them call a cease fire only in the section you're shooting in in order to post, patch or remove targets. after you finished shooting put the cardboard backing in the holders attached to the fence. range rules apply there. wear eye and ear protection, no rapid fire, keep muzzle pointed down range, use zip tie chamber flag in the chamber during cease fire, stand behind the yellow line. pros: don't need to clean up the brass or casings after shooting. wasn't busy on a weekday. cons: unmarked lanes and target post needs numbering or else you might ending up posting in the next shooters lane. no range spotting scope provided. if you're zeroing a rifle you need to bring your own spotting scope or use the scope on your rifle. range provided targets are 12"x12". if you're zeroing a rifle for the first time even more difficult with a small target at longer distance. rifle range benches are mostly for right handed shooters. if you're a left handed rifle shooter than you would have to look for a ambidextrous bench to shoot from.
