It's unprofessional. The point of signing your kid up for a sport is to actually learn the skills for the game. However these kids are on the field with no type of training. Sign your kid up if you just want them to have fun. I've seen free government funded programs run better than this. They collect the money and do zero investment into the kids.

Games rarely started on time (games were scheduled on the hour, without enough of a buffer to account for late starts, so one late start pushed back the entire day, thus penalizing later teams). There was often only one administrator at the fields to set up, and he only arrived there 15 min before the game, which meant the goals and flags weren't ready by game time. The site manager could not make decisions about weather cancellations, and even when he tried calling the league manager, communication was poor. The league management was difficult to communicate with in general. It felt that once they had your money at registration, you didn't matter anymore. The quality of the league depends on the volunteer coaches. Some are excellent, providing practice time outside of Sunday games, promoting skills over aggression and winning. But of course, there are other coaches that value winning at all costs, and screamed at the kids, parents and coaches swore at the kids, allowed slide tackling and pushing (which the refs tried to monitor, but with difficulty). I loved our particular team, but will not be returning to this league. Simple changes in management (staggering start times, prepping the field an hour before the game, having several site managers, and concrete consequences for teams that are not in line with league values) would make a big difference. Not worth the money.

We both live in Flushing near Main St., so NYISC was a perfect place for us to travel to. The club inside was spacious and clean. Some of the staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and gave us a thorough and in-depth description of all the membership services and fees for ping pong games/coaching. The actual tables are professional-grade, and there are actually plenty of them spread throughout an enormous indoor facility. I liked the feel of the high ceilings while I played (or at least ATTEMPTED to play haha). Even though this place was popular on a weeknight around 7-8pm, the size of the facility didn't make me feel cramped. Checking out the rest of NYISC, I saw an indoor soccer field - which is a rare sight in a place such as Flushing. I don't play soccer, but I would recommend this space for soccer teams and friends looking to play a match or serious game. My boyfriend and I also wandered to the 'Pro Shop' in the sports club. They sold all different professional ping pong products from brands such as Butterfly (famous ping pong product manufacturer). We didn't purchase anything, but I did sign up for private lessons with one of the renowned & accomplished coaches. The pricing was for a set of 10 lessons and were more than affordable. The coaches were all world ranked, and have competed in Olympics, etc. Maybe one day I'll be able to at least keep up in a game with my boyfriend, lol. LAST THING: People here are very open and friendly. If you come on a weeknight like us or a weekend, there will always be staff to help you and fellow players/students to meet/interact with :) One person saw my extreme lack of ping-pong skills and kindly helped me out a bit the first time I came to NYISC -___- lols I will definitely be returning

I must say that Castle Hill Little League is one of the best, if not, the best, youth sports…read moreorganization that I have been involved in. My boys have joined other little league organizations in the Bronx and we were extremely disappointed with them. These other leagues (which will remain nameless) were very disorganized and very inconsiderate to parents and kids. As much as I hate to use the word, these other leagues were very ghetto, with coaches and kids improperly dressed for games and constantly cursing at each other and fighting with umpires, and parents acting the same way, and the baseball field in horrible conditions. Once we moved into the Castle Hill area, I put my boys into the Castle Hill Little League, and it has been a wonderful experience. First of all, the baseball field is gorgeous. When I heard that the field was maintained by volunteer parents and coaches, I was amazed. My youngest son says that it has dugouts like Yankee Stadium. My oldest son has games during the evening under the lights, which I enjoy watching. The managers and coaches have been very good to my boys, and all of the kids look like they are having fun. They have a huge baseball parade and carnival for the kids as well as other activities. What impresses me the most is the strict dress code for the players. Baseball players have to be in full uniform when entering and exiting the ballpark. They are not allowed to walk in with sandals and wear jewelry on the field. My boys take it upon themselves to wash their uniforms after games and be properly dressed to play in full uniform before entering the park without any nagging from me. As a mother of three sloppy boys, I found this to be very impressive. I highly recommend Castle Hill Little League if you are looking to for a little league for your child.

Believe the reviews: the staff here are incredibly aggressive. There is a right way to talk to…read morepeople, and then there is a hostile, nasty way--which is the default style here. ​The rules make no sense, either. The signs say "shower before getting into the pool," yet I was yelled at to shower just for walking to a lounge chair with my towel. If you have to shower the moment you step onto the deck, change the signs to reflect that. ​Dealing with the public is hard, but the staff here are completely miserable and looking for a fight. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
