I brought my 2022 Audi A4 to Audi Tysons Corner after multiple warning lights appeared, including a "Drive System Malfunction" message and a check engine light. The vehicle was still driving normally. The dealership diagnosed fault code P016900 ("Incorrect Fuel Composition") and charged me approximately $229 for diagnostics. However, no physical fuel testing, fuel sampling, or injector testing was performed. The diagnosis was based primarily on electronic fault codes and clearing the codes. At the same visit, I was presented with a recommendation for a fuel injector service costing over $600. Later, during the consumer complaint process, the dealership stated in writing that there were no diagnostic indicators of injector failure and characterized the injector service as preventative maintenance rather than a repair tied to a confirmed defect. What concerned me most was that the dealership strongly implied poor or contaminated fuel was the issue while later admitting in writing that they do not perform fuel quality or contamination testing. Afterward: - the vehicle continued operating normally, - an independent mechanic later found no fault history, - and the vehicle passed Virginia emissions and safety inspection. I filed a complaint with Fairfax County Consumer Affairs. The county specialist handling the matter took the complaint seriously, requested additional dealership responses, and even asked the dealership to consider a refund or partial refund. The dealership declined. My concern is not that a fault code existed. Modern vehicles generate fault codes all the time. My concern is that conclusions and expensive recommendations were presented without confirmatory testing, while the actual diagnostic documentation did not demonstrate that the full Guided Fault Finding process outlined in Audi technical procedures had been completed. I encourage customers to ask detailed questions about how diagnoses are confirmed, what testing was actually performed, and whether recommended services are tied to verified defects or are simply preventative maintenance recommendations. read more

Formal Complaint Regarding Misdiagnosis and Negligence in Vehicle Service I brought my vehicle in because the check engine light came on, and the car was shaking and unable to accelerate. After your team performed a diagnostic test, I was told that my car required more than $5,000 in repairs for a fuel injector replacement, which would not be covered under my warranty. The advisor who explained the issue to me did not seem confident in their assessment, which was concerning given the seriousness and cost of the repair. Due to the high estimate, I sought a second opinion from another repair shop. After inspection, I was informed that the only issue was worn spark plugs something that should have been addressed during routine service visits. The mechanic also noted that the spark plugs appeared never to have been replaced. My vehicle currently has 78,000 miles, and I have been consistently servicing my car with Audi Tysons Corner since 66,000 miles. This situation is unacceptable. Either your technicians failed to identify a basic maintenance issue for over a year, or I was misled into believing a costly and unnecessary repair was needed. He sent me back that the car won't be ready on the same day. That I had to bring my car another day and he said he get me a loner car that I needed to come early. I came on the appointment day, he said doesn't recall talking to me or giving me appointment. He stated he did his job for 20yrs and he knows what he is talking about. When I spoke to his supervisor I advised them to check their security cameras. Now his story changed to recall talking to me but he didn't give me appointment. They can't provide me a loner car. So I had to change all the appointments that I have for the day. He wasted my time because of his incompetent and unprofessionalism behavior. First the service person did not call back, second the service manager and now yesterday I was told by reception the General manager would call me back by 5pm yesterday and still no call. I would give this business zero stars if possible. I purchased my 16-year-old son's first vehicle here, and it has been a constant source of problems. The car was sold "As-Is," but its condition was dangerously unacceptable. The most alarming issue: when I brought the car in for poor performance, I discovered the dealership installed three new tires and left a spare tire on the vehicle. This is not just negligence--it's a severe safety hazard. My son drives long distances on highways, and operating a car with a spare tire could have led to a catastrophic accident. Beyond that, the heat has never worked (which I didn't notice during summer), and from day one, I had to return for burned-out headlights. Each time I contacted Patricia, I was reminded that I signed an "As-Is" agreement, and repairs were not their responsibility. They would fix one issue, and another would appear. I also signed paperwork stating the car passed Virginia inspection, but I now question whether it was inspected at all. How could it pass with a spare tire installed? We bought an Audi Q3 in 2022. Very pleasant and straightforward experience. The visit to the "finance manager" at the end of the process was not as traumatizing as they usually are. They didn't try to upsell us on unneeded services or dealer-installed junk. On the service side, this dealership is the classic high cost/high value proposition. Their customer service and work is excellent. The customer areas are spotless and I suspect the work areas are as well (in a different building). They have all the latest equipment, such as a fully automated Hunter alignment rig, but the charges are high. Maybe 30 - 50% higher than a gas station garage. So one has to decide whether, for a given service, it is worth the premium. Oil change, probably not. Quirky Audi-only problem, probably so. And as always, YMMV read more

Tired of this place and this review is a little delayed because I'm just coming back from a business trip. EVERYTIME I use their service center, they scratch my car. I'm fed up with this place. I always use the dealerships from where I buy my cars to do the service. Never again with them. A few weeks ago I took my car in for an its annual maintenance and the Virginia inspection. These guys left scratches near my back right passenger door by the gas door. I don't understand why they're so damn sloppy. I just don't think they care. Never has this happen at other dealerships. They did a decent job with my porche in the past, so I'm not sure if they just do t care for Audi's but I would not suggest anyone use their service unless you don't care how your cars looks. read more

Don't buy a used car from this dealership! I bought a 2015 Ford Escape from this dealership in December 2023. The process of buying overall was typical and I have no real issues there. Test drive went as expected and I paid cash for the car without issue. 3 months after buying the car, it overheated and it continued to overheat after getting the coolant replaced and flushed. I took it to a second mechanic and found out it had a blown gasket and that this model has these known issues. They said it's clear that the coolant had been topped off (a quick fix to get it running short term) and that it had been driven while overheating. Because of the state of the car, the only option at that point was an engine replacement, which was almost the cost of what I paid for it. I was able to sell it for a couple thousand for parts and am really angry at all the money I lost. It seems obvious to me that this dealership knew about the issues with the car and put a band aid on it to get it off the lot. I would never recommend this dealership - beware! read more

I went to the TYSONS dealership for some assistance on setting up the infotainment system, and MY AUDI app. Initially I was met with a lot of negative energy, I was told that walk throughs/tutorial are no longer services that AUDI dealerships provide. However, I was meant by a sales representative named Manny, who was extremely helpful, kind and courteous. Honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a dealership. I've owned 3 Audis from s4s and up. I was bringing my pregnant wife in who'd I'd convinced Audi was the best manufacturer and dealer in the area and was met with hostility and I believe ageism, racism and 100% without a doubt negligence (with regards to physical safety), negligence (with regards to treatment of others 0/100). SHE TRIED TO GET US TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO HEADLIGHTS!!! She didn't even look up as we asked why they were not on, and she eventually responded after I'd told my wife it's safer to just keep the high beams on. So not only did she waste our time, risk our lives and to share this is my first and only review that's how disgusted I am I've owned 14 luxury cars in 10 years and I am VERY familiar with the process. So I explained to my wife so she could learn. You arrive you make sure your trade in is with you and you have preselected vehicles. We arrived tried to get the sales rep Patty or Patricia I'll find her name so you can steer clear, she refused to let the trade in valuation begin and she brought us a single test drive option (out of an egregious request to test drive 2, yes TWO cars). We had every intention of leaving with an Audi and I made that very clear to the rep. She told us nothing about the car, she wouldn't even address that the lights were not turning on as it grew dark, I asked her can you tell me about the car? She responded well what do you want to know????? I then called back and the receptionist was kind but unless someone from the GMs office calls to apologize and presents us with something worthwhile. Audi will now be forever tainted. I hope you are reading this Patricia... when someone shows up in two cars, one being a brand new Tesla and another rare Lexus sport... they don't intend to not leave with two cars. I'm honestly disgusted as to how we were treated and just am thankful YELP exists to allow fair warning to anyone else DO NOT TRUST OR GOTO AUDI IN TYSONS... Oh and PS bc my pregnant wife said she brought snacks (bc these processes take hours, she said are you sure you want an Audi not a Honda - with no knowledge she was pregnant or we had kids..) yuck I feel dirty like actually dirty after that experience and I feel sorry for her and anyone who has to deal with her. I thought for a while before I posted this review but after my fourth time visiting the service side of this dealership and having a worse experience than the previous three other times, it is now a good time to write it up. I bought my car in on Tuesday, 4/20/2021 for an oil change. My car had no indicators flashing notifying me that it was time I was being precautious. I was assigned to Syedd (sp) as my service rep and he text me throughout my service. The oil change took two hours, my car was cleaned and keys returned by one of the techs. I drove back to my house, less than 15 miles away and parked my car for two days. On Thursday, 4/22/2021, I went out to grab lunch in the same area not even a mile down on route 7 my car started to warn me that there was only a quart of oil in my car and to drive with caution. I drove back to the dealership, went to Syedd and explained that I was just there on Tuesday for an oil change. He acted as though he had no idea who I was and requested my information. I provided it again, he asked me to have a seat in the waiting area while he had his techs look at my car. He returned to the waiting area in under 20 mins and told me they were going to do ANOTHER oil change and asked if I had 45 mins to wait around..I did not but I also did not have a car to leave. He then went on to tell me that if the light persisted they'd have to do a diagnostic that would be of charge to me at a price of $175.00. I was appalled and insulted. I explained to Syedd that this was of no problem prior to bringing my car in for service on Tuesday of that week & I should not be held responsible for their diagnostic, should one be needed. He was arrogant and stone walled of having me pay, so I demanded to speak with a supervisor. He requested I wait for one in the waiting area and Russ or Juan would come speak with me. I waited over an hour to speak w/ a supervisor and not only that but I had to ask another technician who was not servicing my car to get me one to speak with. At that moment Syedd came back again and told me I could come with him to speak with Russ. When I walked in Russ stayed seated behind his computer, looked at me and jumped right into conversation without a greeting. The lack of respect goes all the way up to management at this place. Russ offered no apologies or explanation as to why my vehicle showed only a quart of oil after it being serviced on Tuesday. He went over what I already knew, that there was no leak and that there was nothing burning my oil fast. Simply put these men forgot to put the oil in my car and no one admitted it. I had to ask Russ for his business card that he conveniently did not have on him at the time and had to go get and as a slight offer of consolation he verbally agreed to covering the cost of my diagnostic test should I had needed one. Do not waste your time getting service here. There are tons of Audi mechanics outside of the dealership, located in Manassas, who do a better job and most importantly give you the respect you deserve. read more

When it comes to auto service at dealerships, my experience has always been 'the less said, the better' with regard to the level of service. I'm not going to point out individual dealerships; if you've been, you already know and if you don't- I don't want to taint your outlook. Suffice it to say I always left feeling like I couldn't wait to just get away, before I said or did something I'd regret. Some dealerships are just plain awful, though I'm told that's the majority view (given how many people complain about them in general). So far, I've been in twice for normal maintenance; once for new brakes and rotors, and once for a scheduled mileage maintenance. I won't lie to you, it is not an inexpensive endeavor, owning a foreign car, especially one of these. But the level of service is head and shoulders above any that I've experienced before. Firstly, the service center is almost as clean and shiny as the sales floor. Granted, they're not getting into the nuts and bolts right there, that's handled in the service bays along side the service center entrance, but it speaks to a level of professionalism that I'm just not used to. Going in for service is pretty straightforward; you simply pull up to the bay door, which will open at your approach, you drive in, shut the car off and go speak to one of the service advisors. They'll give you an estimate on how long the job will take, and set you up with a temp replacement vehicle off the lot. I don't know about you, but I have NEVER had that happen before. Rentals usually include a rental agency and are normally setup by you, the driver. The dealership may setup the rental for you but it is a secondary aspect. In any event, whatever you get from a rental agency generally won't compare to what they'll give you at Audi, if only because their cars are generally better than what you'd find at a rental agency. In any case, both times i've brought my car in for service, the process was quick and painless. They're courteous and professional; they'll do an estimate with you, and rather than have you wait on the premises, they'll just issue you a car- so far I've had the Q8 and the A4 (I could've gotten the Q8 again but I wanted to try the smaller sedan, just because I'd never driven one before); they clean the cars before they give them to you, low mileage and no blemishes. I once rented an SUV from a rental agency for an extended road trip and the poor thing looked like it had survived a war in a 3rd world country before I got it. They even tried to blame me for some of the pre-existing damage! But I digress...the point I'm trying to make is that the service equals the car. Top notch luxury sedan from a premier automaker is one thing, but getting top notch service from their service department as well just makes the owner experience that much better. I'm sure if things go south with this car, I may not be as enthused- but I can't take away from the service department, they know how to treat their clientele. And they always wash your car before they return it to you! Not as good or as detailed as I would do it, but it is a really nice touch. read more

When I first came to DC, I spoke to a friend since I was looking for a Audi Q5 and they said to check out Rockville and avoid Tyson's. I ended up not wanting an Audi Q5 and went with another car never making it to a dealership but I remember them saying that Tyson's was bad. They are. I stopped here after going to a few dealerships to sell my Jeep. I got two offers around 18-19k previously mind you. I walk in and I meet the salesperson. He was nice enough to not give me his card and did a quick introduction where I did not catch his name and their website doesn't list their staff so we will never know for sure who this gentleman was. I believe his name started with an R. We had a short rapport while the sales manager looked at my Jeep and then he came back. The salesperson asked what I was hoping to get and I said my previous offers were 18-19k but I did mention I had one at 14.6k. I think that is what they got. So he walks back and basically shouts, "We aren't interested, no deal!" I love professionalism, makes me trust a dealer. No negotiation or interpersonal communication but a yell. So I left and I will never walk into that dealership again. If you want to make it up to me, send me a gift card - I don't want to email/call anyone and it shouldn't be hard to figure out who I am. read more

I made the mistake of trusting Audi Tysons to have a loaner vehicle as scheduled. To my surprise, I arrived at the appointment BUT no loaner vehicle was available (despite Audi Tyson's promise during the scheduling call). All that was available was an apology - while kind, it is not a solution to Audi Tyson's issue of 1) ineffective controls around scheduling loaner vehicles and 2) assumption that an apology fixes their failures and acts as good communication. The inconvenience caused to my day was not appreciated as I missed several appointments absent transportation. BUT, the good news is Audi Tysons has excellent controls on collecting your $$$. read more

This is an update and revision of a previous review which I have deleted. The original review provided a "one star" rating. It addressed dissatisfaction regarding ceramic add-on coating applied to the CPO Audi SQ5 I acquired in June 2023. The dealership GM Sam Alimi satisfactorily addressed my concern which was: that the treatment had been previously applied, that a reapplication was therefore not warranted, and that we should not have been charged for it. I accept his explanation of the situation and a refund. He noted that I may have been able to resolve the matter without resorting to a bad review and complaint, a position I also accept. I attempted to discuss with him when I arrived from out of the area to take delivery but he was not on-site that Saturday morning. After I reviewed the coating warranty contract and service records a few days post-purchase, I discovered the multiple applications, something of which the dealer was apparently not aware. In summary, I had an issue I discovered after the purchase. The dealership responded to my complaint and reacted positively in resolving it. read more
