I have both older and later McIntosh equipment, I have 2 separate systems, one Vintage (Tubes) the other is a newer solid state. To be honest I like them equally. My McIntosh gear has been 100% reliable and has never needed repairs. I have called Tech Support a couple of times for guidance with setting up my systems, and these folks were very helpful and caring. An Amazing Company is ever respect!

Immediately, the unit goes in power guard mode in the right channel, resulting in thin, weak sound therefrom. My previous "Bryston" amp has lasted 26 years; this "McIntosh" amp didn't last 26 seconds. Methinks McIntosh's QA inspection team is in need of a good inspection themselves. It was an absolute nightmare to lug this 85lb beast up three flights of stairs, only to have to lug it back down, then when it is repaired/replaced, lug it back up again. This should never have happened. My confidence level in McIntosh is this: NO CONFIDENCE.

Unfortunately, over the course of one month of back-and-forth questions and answers to and from the owners and/or representatives of Vinyl Sound, this is most definitely a one-star review. Highly surprising from a hi-fi/audiophile retailer, as I've only had one other negative experience in my entire life from a different retailer. My requests were seemingly simple: 1) bearing oil for my Transrotor ZET 3.1 turntable; 2) replacement belts for the turntable, and; 3) a request regarding the possibility of making a cover for my turntable. Over a 29-day period, here is the breakdown, in number of days, of their response times to my various e-mail requests: 1, 5, 8, 0, 0, and finally, after waiting 14 days for a reply, I sent a final e-mail requesting an update but have yet to receive an answer. It's now 22 days without a reply at the time of this review. There are many other dealers to choose from. Select another that's not Vinyl Sound and likely be much more satisfied.

They may not have the huge selection of Best Buy but they have a nice selection of tvs, stereos, and speakers to fit just about every need and price range. And the prices are just as good as best buy. The guys there are about a thousand times more knowledgeable than any of the "geek squad" folks. Plus they have tons of great vintage stereos, speakers, and record players for sale.

I would stop there at least…read moreonce a week to check out what they had in and the majority of the time I left with a new Laserdiscs. Many times I'd end up getting 4 or 5! They also did repairs on pretty much any kind of home audio/video devices. One time my Pioneer Laserdisc player was having trouble with the dual side play feature so I brought it into Stellar Stereo. I told the man at the counter the problem and asked if he had a rough estimate on how long they would have it. I was addicted to movies at the time and didn't want to be without my beloved Laserdisc player for long! He said to me "If you're not in a hurry I can take a look at it right now. If the problem is what I think it is I can have it fixed for you in half an hour or less. I was surprised to hear that and also skeptical that it could be fixed so fast. He took it apart right there on the counter and said some sort of belt had broken that allows the player to play both sides of the disc. He went into his backroom and got a belt and had it fixed and put back together in a matter of minutes! He plugged it in and grabbed a Laserdisc so we could test it and sure enough it was playing both sides with no problem! I thanked him for fixing it so quickly and asked how much did I owe. He said something like "I get a big bag of those belts at once so they end up costing me less than a dollar. He said you've been coming in here for years buying Laserdiscs so no charge since it was a simple fix." I said I really appreciate that but please let me pay you something, if you hadn't fixed it some other place would have charged me an arm and a leg and would have probably taken a week to fix. But he wouldn't accept any money. So I ended up buying three Laserdiscs from him that day with the money I had saved on the repair. I can even remember what they were. I got Con-Air,Austin Powers and Face-Off. I always highly recommended Stellar Stereo to all my friends and family. About a year later my dad bought an awesome home theatre system from them and got it at a great price. If they are even open again I highly recommend you stop in and check out the awesome equipment they have. Both vintage and new.

OMG I had been having electrical problems with my Audi. For almost 2 years I had no backup camera…read moreand no push start operation. While getting my stereo fixed on my VW I perchance had a discussion with Robert about my car's issues. He wanted to try to figure out the problems. Well it took several weeks getting used parts and hours of Robert's time digging deep into my car's electrical systems. He found all my issues and fixed them. My camera now works with- 3 PDC sensors and a Parking module, my proximity sensors work, and my push button start is doing what it should. Thank you Robert for all your hard work and due dilligence. Yeah!!!! If your car isn't acting like it should electrically call Robert he might be able to help. And he is great with audio systems.

Upon arriving, Lee met us at his store. Looking at the lamp electric cord, he said, "nothing is impossible". During our visit, Lee kept saying, "nothing is impossible". That alone made me feel confident in his skills. I saw a handwritten letter by one of his customers. She expressed her heartfelt thanks in helping her with her car repair. Based on our interaction, I could see why she felt confident. Lee repaired the electric cord for free. Just for that, HiWay Hifi deserved 5 stars. When in need of repairs, go to HiWay Hifi. I wanted a new television for my basement to go over my workbench. It couldn't be large (no more…read morethan about 24"), it had to be a smart television with WiFi capability, and it had to allow for apps to be loaded onto it. I didn't care as much about resolution, upgraded speaker quality, etc. as it was a little-used television that I listened to more than watched while working on projects. I am not really tech savvy (nearly everything I was looking for was what my wife told me I needed, as I have trouble just getting the remotes to work) so I decided to come here first. The person I talked to was very helpful. He showed me a couple of televisions that would work but one was way more expensive than I needed (his words actually) and the other was so basic that various apps couldn't be installed onto it. He apologized but couldn't recommend spending a lot on a tv here when a cheap Asian import at Walmart would work a lot better. I appreciated his honesty and advice. If I need a really nice television, I will trust the people here.
