Don't recall but while visiting this was the best place we could find so we decide to check out for our party night out. Music wise, it was house music the DJ for the night was EDX not bad never heard him before but it was a pretty decent night. Drinks stuck to beer since it was easier, I had some Lagunitas not bad my company had Stella good as well. I'm a early 20s dude, a dj myself, and I love house music but If I could give 0 stars I would. I came to go see a great dj today (and usually I love audio it's a good vibe) and meet up with friends inside who said they paid $40 to get in. I arrive at 1:15am--not much longer until they shut down. This lady with an attitude (and I reviewed other reviews that name an overweight asian lady as a horrible, rude, and just upright nasty human being--this is who I got and who I am talking about lol !!!) looks at me with a disgusted face and says that it's $50 to get in. I try talking to her but she continues to give atttiude and states "listen, I repeat, excuse me, I repeat, ha you're not going to get it cheaper" and I simply politely avoided her as she was clearly being of no help and not understanding how to treat a paying customer. I politely ask to speak with the manager, a brunette lady. She knew she just charged my buddies $40 and was tryna up charge me. I offered $80 for me and my girl then $90 and she was just as awful and disrespectful. The workers here really don't know how to treat a customer with respect and they treat you as if you are some scum on the side of the street. I love the djs but gosh the people that work here just Make you really want to rip your hair out and yell. I hope the young security guard lady finds some happiness in life because she was just out to spread anger this night and I was unfortunately a target. Bring high fidelity ear plugs if you can. The bass is good and strong. Drink prices are average and reasonable. It's located above Bergerac, another dance club / restaurant / bar. You can enter and exit from both venues as long as you get your wrist stamped. The dance floor is a decent size and it can get really crowded. There is good ventilation if you stand around the dance floor but some areas like against the walls, can get stuffy. There is also in an outs if you want to get fresh air and a couple of nearby pizza joints. read more

Cool venue with an awesome sound system. If you're an audiophile, this place will be an eargasm...but only if you enjoy house/trance. I wish they had more variety when it came to music. I need some of that ratchet music to dance to! Dance floor was much too small for my liking. It was hard to get enough space to dance without stepping on someone, or being stepped on. The bartender we ordered from was awesome! He was full of life, dancing away to the music while mixing our drinks. We asked for sweet drinks and his concoctions were delicious and strong! Kept us nicely buzzed for quite awhile. However, their policy is two drinks minimum on card. You can always keep your tab open to order a second drink later. Make sure to get on the guest list. It'll get you in free before 11pm. Also, keep your confirmation email just in case. Their coat check is $2 I believe. Area seems a bit dangerous so don't keep anything in your car in plain sight! I am genuinely BAFFLED about the way me and my friends were treated at an establishment that is so recommended. The staff and security were the most rude people I have EVER met in my entire life. We came to audio for bottle service, ready to spend a few grand on their services but we left immediately. The employees audibly and publicly called the people in our group "dumbasses" to their face and said "get the fuck out of my face". It is fundamentally disgusting that Audio allows this type of behavior to paying customers. I wholeheartedly recommend that NO ONE spends their money at a place where the employees are so rude and demeaning. This place agreed to $1,200 at the door for a table and charged my card $1,650 (I had tipped not knowing I was getting additional charges that I was unaware of). When asked about this they said theres an additional 20% gratuity applied to all reservations. None of this was communicated at the door. This place is a sleezeball scam organization. I would bring cash if you're going here because you can't trust them with your card. They also have no security to ensure general pop is not stealing your bottles, which happened to our party. Actually the worst music I've had to endear. If you like the same beat over and over and OVER AND OVER AGAIN, then this is the place for you. I don't have anything against EDM, but the DJ not having any ability to read a dead club with awful repetitive music with NO CHANGE FOR THIRTY MINUTES kinda ruins the experience. Hire a DJ that actually has decent taste and doesn't just play the same thing. Maybe someone with actual ability. Just a thought. The bartenders were super chill though. The club itself was cool. However the staff was extremely unprofessional and unnecessarily mean!!! Specifically one of their bouncers who is an Asian woman, in her mid to late twenties, and a bit on the heavier side. She had some weird vendetta against my friends and I and claimed we were all "too intoxicated" to get in. She made us do a sobriety test, twice, and when we passed it she still refused to let us in. We were definitely sober enough to be let in and and one of my friends that she had claimed was too drunk to be let in literally does not drink alcohol and was completely sober. We are also always kind to customer service workers because we also work in customer service and understand how rude people can be. Our friends on the inside had a section and our friends got us in but only after we were told we had to apologize to this miserable woman. In the end, we were able to get inside and have a great time despite her efforts of spreading her misdirected unhappiness onto us. I guess some people are so miserable and frustrated with their own lives that they feel need to build the illusion that they are gaining power or leverage over their customers at work. Pathetic and very embarrassing for her and the image of the club. Management should really look into this because after this experience, she has forever tainted the view of Audio for my friends who she did not want to let in, our friends who had purchased a section, people in line that could hear the unfairness and very possible discrimination going on, and every person we share this experience with. read more

This is a review for September 23 - Yotto Dj set at Audio. First of all, the sound system is great but the club over sold their tickets, there were too many people in the small club, great safety hazard and people were literally wrangling one another to try to stand straight. They ignore basic capacity rules and I felt lucky no one got hurt or walked onto entire night. Me and my girlfriend were at the very front next to yotto and we stayed till the end to take pictures with him. It was all good. Until two African American security staff started grabbing my ass and legs and basically harassed me and complaining he wants me and my girlfriend to leave asap. I was shocked and intimated when he started carrying me away from the center booth across the dance floor to the exit of the stairway. Another African American security staff did the same thing to my girlfriend. And then they started blocking us on the stairs. I took video of them pushing us and harassing us on the stairs. They got physical with us again and pushed us out of the front gate and onto the street. One of their staff trying to blame us for being drunk and reckless to justify their actions. But here is the thing, i had only one drink the entire night at the club and we were dancing and taking photos and yotto and sending to him to have a pleasant conversation with the artist himself. He is the very person there can prove we were sober and we were there to support him. Yet, the security persons got physical with us without any verbal explanations and pushed us out without returning our personal belongings in the coat check. I immediately called 911 to seek help from law enforcement but they wouldn't come and because folsom street fair is next morning no one were trying to help us. We had to knock their gate over and over again to finally got our jacket back and they still refuse to give us any explanation for their horirble wrongdoings. Me and my girlfriend are two petite 5'3 Asian girls and we were harassed both physically and mentally by the reckless and unprofessional security staff at Audio. and there was no apologies. Many witnesses from the club next door saw this happened and they told us police will never come for us because theres no blood shed and they would always side with the club and blame it on us. Their actions are the very bad blood sf clubs where fans and friends going to the venue to celebrate music and art and support their favorite artists and then got ruined by discrimination and racism. If we are not Asians, if we were Caucasian, they would never ever laid their hands or even a tip of finger on us. I honestly can't believe something like this would happen in the heart of San Francisco. Girls if you're by yourself. Bring pepper spray to events like this and protect yourself. And always remember to keep video or picture evidence to record incidents like this. They will try to make you feel because you were under influence so they can do whatever they want. Tell the police, if they ever came for you, you can do blood test to prove you were sober! And remember 911 dispatchers won't listen and come to you unless you are seriously injured. So don't let that happen to you. Protect yourself. Music is the language of world love. Not violence. read more

What a crapshoot of a dance club. Bartenders and bouncers are total dickheads. Claiming fake ids when they ain't even fake. Yelling at sober girls left and right. Bartenders not charging for water, and then decides to charge for water moments later, what the fuck. Music was deep house. Not a huge fan of the music since it was pretty hard to dance to. I would not pay to go here. As cool as it was to find an iPhone in the toilet, this place is not popping and filled with a rude crowd. I have been here 3 times. The first time, I came with a guy who got bottle service, so my things were safe in the booth with our group. The second time, I went with a girl friend and put my phone in my pocket. But the 3rd time, I met people there. I was texting my friend that I was checking my coat at 12:05. By 12:30, I realized my purse was open, and my iPhone was missing. Though I had walked in with 90% battery, my phone was off. It had been stolen, most likely from right out of my purse. When I emailed to ask if they had cameras to catch the person, they did not answer. There are other reviews from women who had the same thing happen to them, so clearly it's not uncommon. I also talked to my friend about this, and he said his girlfriend also had her phone stolen out of her purse at Audio. I'm also pretty sure my phone was taken from out of my purse last year at Temple. Most SF clubs, especially Audio, are sausage fests of nerdy guys who can't dance. And yet there appears to be a pattern of people stealing phones out of women's purses, in addition to the normal gropey bs no one wants. My phone sadly was not protected this time, so my night out to Audio was ridiculously costly. It is incredibly frustrating that there are people stealing phones out of women's purses at these clubs. Went here for Dj Destructo's Morning Sermon on Halloween at 6am (sunrise to sunset partying). It was so much fun. Lit and good vibes all around. Security was nice (but I think it was by luck and early in the day compared to night), parking was easy (not crowded) and they let us in and out. Inside you go upstairs and the dance floor was 2 tiers with two bars. The Dj stage in the back middle of the place. Everyone was dressed up and just so friendly looking to have a good time. My friends and I lasted about 6 hours before we left for breakfast (which I missed because I got drunk, lol aka Audio was a success). Drinks were good and bathrooms were clean with a valet near the sinks. Would definitely try coming back here again. read more

This is 0 stars because they wouldn't let me in. I have a Washington ID because I'm from Seattle and they decided it was fake even though it's definitely real. I showed them a picture of my passport I had on my phone, but they didn't care. I had to threaten to get the police involved for them to give me my ID back, (their words: "oh we don't want to get the police involved here's your ID back"). But the money I spent on the ticket is gone. I tried to ask some of the other people working and just got a "no way are you getting a refund". Shoutout to the halcyon bouncer who checked my ID for me and deemed it real! If you have such a problem with fake IDs maybe get a scanner or some way of telling if they are real or not instead of just leaving it up to the incorrect judgment of your rude bouncers. Be careful if you have an out of state ID at audio, they might just try to take it and steal your money on a whim. read more

I've never experienced something worse. The staff for some reason was targeting me. I got yelled at for "standing on a toilet" but i was just standing because i'm tall and can see over the stall. I then got followed into the women's restroom twice by a security guard that is a man because he was accusing me of being drunk even though I wasn't. Went for the first time this past Saturday and it was really fun. Venue was cool and the music/atmosphere was great. Definitely somewhere to go if you enjoy vibing to house/techno. Weird to see people shitting on the bouncers and staff because that was not my experience. I lost my phone pretty early in the night and only realized after leaving the venue. When I went back, the bouncers/bar staff were really helpful and let me back in to try and find it. While I didn't find it on the night, the staff searched the venue and got in contact with me later in the week so I could get it back. Overall a very positive experience, and, after looking at the upcoming events, I am defo excited to go back. read more

This place is so not your time, energy money. The music was not that great. It was super small. And there was $20 cover!!! The place was a complete letdown. I put my name on the guestlist for that night. The website clearly stated that if you were on the guestlist that the cover will be $10 before 11:00pm and $15 after 11:00pm. We showed up at 11:20pm and told the guy I was on the guestlist and he found me on their list, checked me in and told me it would be a $20 cover. I told him that the website said $15 after 11:00pm. I even looked at his laptop (which is how he was checking in people from the guestlist) and pointed out that when he checked us in it also states the same thing. He went in to ask and came back and said that they messed up on their website and that it was their fault, but we would still have to pay the $20. They did not honor their advertised price!!! This is not a way to run a business! We only paid because it was a friend's birthday and she was already inside. Otherwise I would have just walked away! The one perk of this place is that after 11:00 the line is incredibly short compared to the other clubs on the same street. But I would choose Butter (which has no cover and better music) over Audio next time I find myself on 11th street. read more

Got bottle service here and the staff was friendly, Blaze helped us get the bottle (yes that's her real name). Reasonable prices for the bottles, and the crowd had a good vibe. Enjoyed all the DJs here, but they did stop playing EDM towards the end of the night. Our bottle service area was always watched over by staff, and it was kept clean. My only complaint would be they don't start using all their lights and lasers right away, it seems they don't use all of them until the main DJ comes on. Good experience, but they close at 2:30, which is early compared to their neighbors Halcyon and DNA lounge, which can play similar music. Overall a good experience. read more

Pretentious and overhyped. Audio Discotech was a total let-down - those 5-star reviewers are going on my do-not-trust list. A couple of friends and I were some of the first ones in line, so ended up waiting around inside a good hour while our other friends were stuck in line. Ridiculous how the bouncers held up the line, which forced people who RSVP'd on the guestlist to pay cover.. even though the place was nearly empty. The space is small, music was okay. I love Audio! I have no idea why I didn't find this poppin' spot sooner!! I came here for Hotel Garuda (02/28/15) and after reading some of my fellow Yelper's reviews, I planned accordingly to arrive right when doors opened (9:30PM) so my friends and I could avoid paying for cover (more than $10..?). You can also buy tickets online to be safe and come by after 11PM - only $10! It was a bit weird though because the bouncers couldn't find my name on GL and I swear I RSVP'ed through the website and the app Guest List Nation (you guys should totally check it out - amazing!). Nonetheless, I got in when I showed them the app... Since we were the first people there, it was super empty and the opener was chillin' but all of a sudden there was a flood of people upstairs - I can totally see why people should definitely line up early!) The main floor is upstairs and from there you can find the bathroom and bar to the right; dance floor straight ahead. Lemme just take a second to let y'all know that the bathroom is HELLA nice and clean (for the girls, I have no idea what's up with the dudez) and the lady working there is SUPER nice. I can't remember her name but she worked that Saturday night! And the bartenders are super friendly - they accept American Express here (YAAAYYY)! It's kind of a bummer they don't have salt for tequila shots, but my friend & I toughed it out =] You can go back downstairs too to access Bergerac and that place is a good place to chill if you need to relax for a bit/ grab a quick drink since the bar is bigger. The sound system to this place is soooo amazingggg. Probably my favorite all of SF. I had a fun time here! I enjoyed the set up and visuals! Intimate club with a classy mixed with cute floral decor fairy vibe. The lights mixed with flowers everywhere was cool. The bathroom was pretty clean and put together! For being packed that night, I found myself never waiting in line whenever I went. I was impressed. Also for being a packed night, I never felt security bothering. It was chill to be able to have the relaxed space to enjoy the music and dancing. The speakers were perfect and the music, quality! I sure got my groove on! No designated smoking patio except outside, and I thought after I went out to smoke that I would be able to bring my water bottle back in but they wouldn't let me. Horrendous night! Bouncers are complete dicks. Buddy had nice bottle of Mezcal given to him for his bday at dinner. Asked if he could check his backpack with the bottle in it, wouldn't let him. They offered to keep it safe at the door next to them. Of course we come out an hour later, they play dumb, bottle is nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, the coat check girl who he had checked his backpack with work laptop lost his bag, claimed it wasn't her fault, cursed both of us out, then slapped my buddy in the face. Yes, you read that correctly, not being hyperbolic. Manager finally found his bag 15mins later but Jesus, what a disaster. I don't understand how anyone rates this 5 or even 3 stars. First, I Club almost if not every weekend. Second, this place is horrible. Oh, we have a great sound system and that's all. Other than that, you've got rude employees and a smelly crowd. The door men were rude to us, the people who took my $20 cover charge were rude to us. And my favorite, I order two drinks and tell the bar to leave me open, they close me out, when I get a third drink they tell me there is a two drink minimum, too which I said you closed me when I said to leave me opened, which is when the bar lectures me on how it works there. Seriously, don't go here. There are worlds better places to spend your night, go to Love + Propaganda, or just stay at home, you'll have a better time than if you come here. I thought my clubbing days were over..... Apparently not on this night - I went there for an event and had lots of fun. I was hanging out with the event organizer early on and didn't have to wait in line. We worked with the manager of the club to make sure our event went smoothly. I love that the coat room was right when you walked into the club, some places had coat rooms which you had to hunt for. Everyone from the bouncers to the coat check girl had smiles on their faces and were really friendly. I'm not really into house music, but they played deep house and when in Rome...I managed to get out there and dance a bit. The sound system was very good and it wasn't just super loud music that made your ears ring, it was just right for my sensitive ears. The crowd wasn't too douchey, but then again, our group of 30+ people were enough to buffer me from the douches that were on the peripheral of our group. Somehow we ended up at the downstairs bar and they played old school hip hop which woke up our group and we had an even better time there than upstairs. read more
