This place has risen in the ranks of my fave cocktail bars in SF. Recently tried to go to Elements only to discover it was closed or at least closed to additional patrons 45 minutes before closing so made our way to a couple other bars instead, including Blind Pig. It takes a lot for me to consider a return visit to a cocktail bar. Most of the time, I just begrudgingly go along with my friends to a mediocre bar, but Blind Pig is a place I would enthusiastically return to again and again. I first got the namesake cocktail: Blind Pig. It was incredibly well-balanced, and the flame presentation upon arrival was an epic mini show. Later during last call, I decided to risk it all and roll the dice to order from the secret menu. I rolled a 5, which got me a wine & Japanese beer concoction with Sichuan peppercorn. Totally feel like this cocktail was made for me, as I rep the 川渝 region. The drink was strong, but that made it all the better. Can't wait to come again and explore more of the menu behind the password-protected iykyk entrance.

Hot Take: Weeknights are better than weekends for going out. Chill, less of a crowd, a locals vibe, and to avoid amateur hour. I'm personally over (and too old) dealing with sloppy drunks spilling drinks on you, getting pushed around in a crowd or end up in a middle of a brawl Blind Pig is that perfect spot, well at least on a weeknight: chill, low-key, and moody. And, most importantly comfy seating AND solid AZN inspired craft cocktails ($18-$19). Cocktails with black sesame, taro, pandan, mapo tofu, tea, and hot pot flavors? YAS! D R I N K S * Hot & Sour: Tanqueray Gin w/ Iichiko shochu, aloe, rose, hot pot paste, basil, citrus, peychaud's ($18 x2) The sichuan hot pot inspired cocktail was silky smooth from the milk-washed gin, nicely balanced - sweet (but not too sweet) and sour with a subtle málà numbing spice. Stiff yet easy to drink. The manager/bartender, Leo was awesome with great hospitality. Background lounge-y music is not too loud so you can yap and catch-up with friends. Overall, Blind Pig is a great place to unwind after work or start the night off. If it's too tamed for you, you can always go next door to XEX to make bad decisions - no judgement cuz we've all been there! ;) O T H E R I N F O * Walk-in only. PW to enter is on IG. * Blind Pig originally opened in Chinatown in a larger space but they're now in a more intimate space on Polk. * Blind Pig is under Mins Group (Sushi Sato, Sushi Hon, The Roll, The Buoy, Dento Piano Cafe, Dragon Horse, and more.) * No snacks/food but plenty of food options within walking distance.

Ah, I wanted to love Blind Pig, but I just couldn't get into it. This San Francisco speakeasy is an Asian-influenced bar looking to bring Asian flavors and liquors to the bar scene. I think in many ways, Blind Pig just fell a little flat. I would like to say that the service here was amazing. A bartender who sat with you to talk about the menu, the process, and your experience very passionately and intently.  However, I think that the bar program is a little unrefined. Every drink had 10,000 ingredients, and most of them did not work together. If the drink did work together, you just tasted nothing because everything blended together and you couldn't taste any special or fun ingredients.  Unfortunately, I don't think this spot is worth looking for.

We came here to have a drink before going to see a show, and it was right around the corner. We ended up waiting in line for about 10 minutes, which made sense as the venue is a bit smaller, but of course can be more intimate. We told the person the "secret code" of the day and let them know how many people we had. Got seated right in the middle and looked over the cocktails menu and ended up with the chrysanthemum tea for all 4 of us. The drinks came out, and when we all tried it, we all agreed that it was a magnificent cocktail, really tasty, and had a great presentation. There was a birthday party next to it and the ambiance was extremely intimate with the vibes, dim lights and music. Overall, a cool place to grab a drink and hang out, would recommend if you are in the area!

DRINKS 5/5 The drinks were top tier. They were unique, with out of the box ingredients. I ordered the Cold Chrysanthemum Tea that had apricot and more. The flavors were decadent, and the presentation was pristine and in lovely glassware, very elegant. SERVICE The mixologists were talented craftsmen who to could tell out a lot of time, love, and effort into every drink they make. I could taste the high level of experience my mixologist had. The flavors were concocted to perfection. AMBIANCE It was an intimate place, just big enough for a long bar and seating all around the immediate bar and along the wall in cozy lounge booths and cute side short tables. We needed a password to get in, and we were happy to enter the cozy, dimly lit space. HONORABLE MENTION This place is at the top of my list the next time I visit San Francisco. This place is a MUST VISIT if you've never been there. Go here for the best quality had crafted cocktail.

This place is so sick. I was surprised by this place on my birthday and boy was it a great time. Not only was the Journey to the West decor really cool but the drinks were extremely fun too. If you have trouble trying to figure put what the drinks, the bartenders are more than happy to give recommendations based on your palette. I wish I could even remember the names of all the drinks we ordered but I just remember us all being super impressed by the whole experience. Highly recommend. This is a bar im definitely going to have to come back and try again.

Busy for a friday night but got seated after calling! went here for a girls night and it did not disappoint! bartender was wonderful telling us the history of blind pig, giving drink recs and making our experience welcoming. now i'm motivated to try their sister restaurant! the drinks are artistically crafted. the ambiance is dark and would be cute for a date and sit down + talk hang out rather than a going out and dancing vibe. a true speak easy ambiance!

I can't believe I've never posted a Yelp review for the BlindPig. Hands down my favorite bar in the city. The drinks are creative, well crafted and most importantly - very tasty. There are so many instagram moments at this beautiful bar. The staff is also so friendly, hardworking and efficient - shout to Leo, Pedro and Andrew. We've followed Derrick's blind pig journey since the Chinatown days and are so glad for his success with this wonderful establishment. It's also great for private events - I had my birthday party here in early 2025 and the buyout rates were really reasonable. Dragon Horse in SOMA is the sister karaoke bar and is also great for a night out or events (including birthdays, corporate events, etc). Love the BlindPig and everyone behind it! So grateful for this gem.

This was such a fun speakeasy!!! I came here after a day out in sf and it was the perfect place to end the night. The whole concept is super creative and the drink flavors were so unique. Our host did a very good job at giving us the background on each drink and making sure we were having a great experience. I got the Monkey King and it was so yummy! Even my friends got it after they tried it because it was sweet, fruity, and refreshing.

100/10 for creativity, concept, and vibes, 9/10 for the drink flavors. I'm a sucker for a speakeasy and this one is tucked kind of inconspicuously in lower Nob. You give a password (check their IG) and inside you will be transported into a cozy lounge with cute neon lights and presented with the normal paper menu and.. a fan? Yep, they also write the cocktail menu on a fan -- color me impressed. I ordered the Zhu Ba Jie which came in a crazy cup with the pig disciple himself on it and it was yummyyy. Pig steals purple corn had a great strong mezcal flavor (although it masked some of the other ones listed in the ingredients). Truly I had so much indecision deciding what to get because it all sounded good and I was just delighted by the names. The bartenders were friendly and I am looking for any excuse to come back here soon.

This is THE place to go for great drinks. We went in a group of 3 and waited for about 15 mins to get in, but could see the vibe and how great it was. We loved our drinks so much that we ended up finishing up the menu, staying till the bar closed. The bartenders were so friendly and completely complimented the vibe! We loved our experience here and often recommend this place to all our friends.

Absolutely SO DELICIOUS. Like I am shocked. This spot reminds me of my grandma's house in China, from the flavors of the drinks to the smell the burnt fruit on one of the cocktails we ordered. It's so nostalgic and tastes SO DELICIOUS. I have to come back again. The bartender was also super friendly and explained the best way to drink our cocktails as well. The vibes were more intimate here which I loved as well. This speakeasy isn't too hard to find, but you do need to have a password beforehand.

Cannot recommend this lounge enough! Every single drink I tried at this place was so so good! The place is slightly hidden (no obvious lights on/sign is not lit up). Knock on the door. You may have to check their socials for a password to tell the person who opens the door. The inside is pretty nice and cozy. I personally got Monkey King, which was nice and sweet. My friends got a chrysanthemum tea drink and that was very nice as well. Definitely recommend for a future chill night with friends!

Pandan Vieux Carré ($22) By far my favorite cocktail of the night - very well balanced, spirit forward but also bright and silky. A5 Wagyu & Black Truffle Old Fashioned ($25) This was also fantastic, rich and buttery old fashioned with truffle accents. The A5 Wagyu is sourced from the Niku Steakhouse local butcher shop! Ube Cheesecake ($19) Wonderful dessert cocktail to finish the night. We didn't have time to try the Escape Room connected to the Speakeasy, but we'll be back! There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good!
