I am a long time automotive professional. I've been involved in turning automobile lemons into…read morelemonade for a very long time. It's only natural I'd interact with any and all rental car agencies in the Bay Area. Over the years I've worked with Enterprise on both the corporate and branch levels. It's a family owned business and it's a people business long before the subject of the cars comes up. They do business ethically. They treat people courteously. Both clients AND business partners. They do a phenomenal job of communication and they excel at setting expectations and then exceeding them! It's a very hard job. The branches are used to promote staff from within which can lead to a challenge in turnover as Enterprise tends to hire young , intelligent "go getters". This can mean building a relationship only to see it change when a new eager young face comes in. That has been a 20 plus year observation of mine. I build and grow a relationship with an office full of happy young folks that help me operate and function only to watch them move on in their lives. This leads me to the reason for this specific review. That reason is Miss Helen at the San Bruno Branch. I remember the standard Enterprise changing of the guard ceremony where I met Miss Helen. Enterprise has a standard procedure. Departing manager comes and brings the fresh new manager for a meet n greet. This sounds simple. Sounds like common sense. Sounds "like a good idea .." and it is. But I'll tell you. No other company consistently does anything like this. So anyway. Miss Helen was full of enthusiasm and had a genuine demeanor about her as she committed to a fruitful and pleasant working relationship with me and my clients. I've had probably 20 of these meet ups over the years and knew to expect a learning curve. But I got the feeling it'd go well. And it has. Miss Helen will always take my calls and always address my clients concerns or needs as if she was helping her own family. As do all of her staff. It's clear to me that her management style is both effective and infectious. She proves an age old business adage I live by. "You can light a fire under someone and you may get results; light that fire IN THEM and you will get results !" I see it in the tone and feel of the current San Bruno Branch and it's something that's really rad to see in the current state of the world. A mixed bag of young people all working hard to better themselves and their branch while delivering their company promise of "We'll pick you up!" With a smile and some genuine effort and sincerity. In my humble (albeit wordy ) opinion. Miss Helen is an asset that built a team capable of handling anything. Give em a crack at global warming ! Let em see if they can fix the hole in the ozone layer. I personally think they're unstoppable !

I've been helped by Ian, Helen, Jayden, Zach, Reanne, Zion, and James. Every staff member I have interacted with has been pleasant, helpful, and efficient. I'm so glad that this Enterprise is conveniently located near me. Someone give them an award. Thank you!

Wife and I were traveling and rather than both of us doing the bag-drag through the airport and on the train, we decided to have her stay with the bags in baggage claim and I would do the long terminal walk and train routine. Arriving at the mob scene at the multi-floored car rental center, I followed the signs to Hertz for people like me that had reservations. Down a few floors and into the massive parking lot. A Hertz fellow made eye contact with me, asked if I had a reservation and motioned me to join him in is tiny office area. We were done in less than five minutes and he had someone walk me over to where my car was located. I could not believe it, driving out and picking my wife up in baggage claim as if she had just arrived. What a wonderful experience and we thank Hertz for being so attentive and willing to get out there to help anyone. Recommend that you travelers coming into airports and needing a rental car to follow our lead: make a reservation, leave someone with the bags at baggage claim, get your rental car and return to rejoin your luggage and flying party. And you would be wise to go with Hertz, which I have had the great experience I just shared. Thanks, Hertz.

The good: I booked…read morethrough Costco and did the online check-in "Skip the Counter" on the Alamo website the evening before. Hopped off the SFO AirTrain and turned left to literally skip the counter. So far, so good. They did not have a Premium Class car I wanted (only one choice there), though were very friendly and with only a short delay they offered me a clean Luxury Class car for the same rate. Like new. So far, so good. The bad: On the return, the intake gentleman does the walkaround and tells me I'm "all set",do I want a copy of the receipt which will also be emailed? I said yes, he runs off for a moment and returns with one. The total was about $80 heavy with fees that comprised of various airport / concession charges, etc. (I vaguely remembered that there should never be hidden charges and this was a foreign experience compared to past Alamo rentals). In any event, we had to run. But it nagged at me. When I had a chance I compared the receipt line-by-line with the T&C from my booking confirmation email. All the same charges minus a larger top line. I called Alamo. The phone representative was very kind and helpful and was also perplexed. She confirmed that the car upgrade was not the reason and that my receipt confirmed I was only to be charged the "PCAR" rate. She chalked it up to a technical mistake undoubtedly and promptly refunded the overcharge difference to my same credit card. I'm presuming it was a mistake, but notably, the same thing happened to someone else on these reviews two years earlier. I do think it was likely a mistake and that perhaps on the free upgrade, the present day rate of the original booking may have been stored or something along those lines. Still worth noting for prospective users. Fwiw, I will use them again.

Today (9.15am on the 17th June 2026) was the latest in a series of unpleasant Customer Service interactions. I am unable to update my credit card details online. I am unable to contact anyone in Customer Service online. I'm a team member on front desk at this location refused to help me with updating my account, and I had to repeat the fact that I wasn't trying to return a car or hire a car because I can do neither of those things until the credit card details on my account are updated four times before the team member stopped asking me if I was trying to do either of those things. When the experience of a business location is so consistently poor, it usually either stems from failures in management, training, or corporate culture. I don't know what the problem is here but I strongly recommend you avoid using Hertz at this location if you can avoid it.

They upgraded me to a full size SUV, which was hard for me to drive in San Francisco because it's been about 14 years since I've driven a full sized SUV. My piece of advice if you're renting from Budget/Avis is to sign up for their Fastbreak/express service, which is free. You'll be able to skip the long lines, go to the express area, and go on about your business. The guy that checked me out was nice and accommodating.

Once there we had a bit of a line, which was rather frustrating...they know many car reservations they have a any given time, so we were surprised they didn't have more staff on hand d to assist with the process of getting the customers in their cars and in the way. Once through the line we got our assigned parking space, headed for the garage to pick up our car. With the map at the entrance it was easy to find the spot our Camry was in. It was a quick load in, the keys were already in the car and away we went. Returning the car was as easy as driving back into the garage, into the return lane, we parked, gave the keys to the attendant, took our things and were on our way. The experience was good, though pricing was bit high from past rental experiences. I'm sure they jack the rates up for holiday travel though.
