It's been quite a while since we stopped in the wigwam bar so while we were staying at the resort this past week, we decided to give it another try. We came for an after dinner appetizer and some drinks and to watch the live music. We sat near the misters outside, so it was still really comfortable out, even though it was a bit hot out still. We ordered the chicken quesadilla with guacamole and salsa, etc.. Our server was wonderful, friendly, funny and checked on us often food was good and the quesadilla was huge.. my margarita was great. I came here a few months ago for a recruiting conference and while here I ate at the restaurant a few times. The service was good and the restaurant is beautiful. To me, the Wigwam Bar is a hidden gem! Located inside the resort and largely hidden from the sight outdoors. The only clue that they are there, is the outdoor seating and fire pits. The outdoor seating is beautiful and festive! There are other dining options around the resort, but what I like most with the Wigwam Bar are the great menu choices. From fun pub-grub options, to salads, soup and steaks. There is something for any mood. The staff was super friendly. We met up with friends that were in town for the NASCAR championship race and our sever was accommodating as we waited for them to arrive. And she was attentive after the group arrived. Arrived Friday afternoon Nov. 21, thinking we would have a nice drink and light meal. Bar was not busy and could tell there was going to be shift change. Unfortunately the drinks were sub par. Ordered a TNT, and it tasted horrible. The bartender's response was oh, I forgot, the tonic isn't working. This is a basic and necessary ingredient for a bar, especially one inside an up scale resort pouring expensive drinks. Husband ordered a whiskey sour, and it too was not good. Something was off. Liquor did not taste fresh. Light handed pours considering the price point. The bar itself is not clean. Whole place and equipment need a deep clean. Dirty pre-mix bottles, bar tools, glasses, trays, etc. Everything looked grimy, including the garnish tray. Bar was not organized. One could tell the more experienced shift for the early dinner crowd was coming on, getting things somewhat cleaned up. The staff spent a lot of time greeting each other, hugging, chatting. Talking about odd things. There was a lady walking around with a clip board, perhaps the bar manager, talking casually with the staff. The staff were more in tune with each other than what was going on with patrons. Food was ok. Ordered hamburgers. The cookie dessert was not good. Oregano's Italian restaurant has a better cookie pizza dessert. Sadly the Wigwam Bar does not live up to the beautiful resort. Until management can clear things up, don't expect resort quality drinks. Stick with beer. Or do what one guest did and order a bottle and take elsewhere at the property. Eight of us girls went to Sunday brunch today. Ambiance on the patio was great, service was great, but breakfast was really sub par. Instant eggs, instant deep fried triangle they call hash browns, 1 piece of cold skinny hard white toast and the sausage was all mushy inside. The price for this was horrendous. Others at my table got the French toast and the bread could not be thinner, so many were disappointed. There are so many nice things about coming to wigwam, but breakfast was a huge disappointment, both in food quality, and price. Never again. read more

Very nice setting in a very old, historic resort. The ambiance may be the very best part of your experience although the food and drinks are very good, too. Sat at the bar and had the burger with homemade fries and the buffalo chicken wings. Nice selection of beers on tap and in bottles. We started outside having a beer each, but soon became hungry so we came inside to sit at the bar to eat . . . it was becoming a bit too cold to sit outside, but they do have plenty of heaters. This is my 2nd visit. Appetizers, burgers, salads, or entrees they have something for everyone. This is a wonderful relaxing place to unwind and dine. Stayed at the Wigwam resort which was lovely but had a horrible experience at the bar. Went here for dinner our first night where the staff were extremely rude and the food was lacking flavor. The margarita flight was good and loved that they had that as an option. TL:DR - Food isn't great, but we enjoyed our experience here with Sunday brunch. Great lawn area with plenty of shade and space for kids to roam around. Service was fine and not overbearing. The loaded tots and stead quesadilla weren't really for me. The tots themselves were quite soft, as if they were frozen and then not cooked all the way, that may not be the case, but either way, with the nacho cheese drenched over it, and it already being soft, it kind of turned into cheesy mashed potatoes. I mean it tasted great, but just a little let down considering the form factor. The quesadilla was also not the best, but not bad either. It was just super heavy. Not sure if it was oily or just super juicy, or maybe both, but it had a lot of liquid on it and with the gratuitous cheese, just made me feel super sluggish after eating it. The winner overall was the grinder. It had a great roll that was soft and pretty light compared to everything else. The giardiniera was sparse. but overall still an enjoyable sandwich. Overall the food was forgettable, but we had a great time at the Wigwam on the lawn. The kids got to play around, the adults had a few drinks and snacked on some food, and the service was great. Everyone was super nice and we were never asking ourselves where our server went. So overall, long as you're not expecting amazing food, you'll enjoy it. read more

I stopped by here this a couple of Friday evenings ago with my wife and her parents for an early dinner. My in laws loving coming up here and so we all decided that for our last night in Phoenix that we would as well. Due to Covid, all of the seats being utilized are outside. That isn't necessarily a problem since they have fire pits and heating lamps all around and so it's easy to warm up. On this day we actually chose to sit at a table with a fire pit and were reasonably warm throughout our dinner. Besides the outside tables themselves, they had a large high top table which a party of 8 was utilizing while we there and then a bar where you could place your drink orders. Finally they also have a Happy Hour here on Sunday-Thursday and although we didn't get to utilize it, they do have specific specials which knock a few dollars off the cost of some drinks and plates. For dinner on this evening our table decided to split 4 different items and choose the quesadilla, street corn fries, wings and nachos. For the wings we ordered them naked with the BBQ sauce on the side. They ended up having a nice and crusty exterior to them while the meat inside was hot and juicy. Up after that was the nachos which were piled high with guacamole and cheese sauce. The chips and guacamole on their own were decent but it was the cheese sauce that stole the show of this dish for both me and my wife. As a matter of a fact, we both even dipped some street fries into the sauce for more flavoring. Speaking of the street fries they were pretty good. The outside of them had a nice crispy bite and I enjoyed whenever I got some of the sauce or corn with eat bite. Last but certainly not least was the quesadilla which was split into 4 parts, perfect for our group. It was decent enough but not necessarily memorable, especially when next to the other dishes we were eating. By the time we were finished with all of the dishes I was stuffed, which is something I was actually worried about at the beginning. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I was pleasantly surprised by how good and the filling the food is here and maybe next time I would even order a drink. read more

It sucks to say, but this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. For a restaraunt with expensive prices, you expect a LOT more. Plus, I have always had good experiences with this restaraunt in the past, but when I went on my birthday I left hot, grumpy and annoyed. First, we ordered the new queso dip which we went to the restaraunt for. It came out ice cold and was unscoopable. It took a while for the waitress to come back. When she did it was taken off the bill, but by the time the dip came out so did our food. The thing that was worst about this experience is it was so hot we couldn't eat there. We had to take our $100 (worst money ever spent) dinner to go. If the AC was on it wasn't working properly. It is 115 degrees outside and we are roasting, all hot in the face and uncomfortable. We even started to get heat rash. Our food was taken to go and ultimately there was no help from the manager or any other party to ask what was wrong or why we were leaving/ what they could have done. It sucks to feel uncared for in a space where you have always spent so much money. This was a place we went to many times before, but we will never be back, that's how bad it was. I checked in yesterday and since that have been having an unpleasant stay. 1. Sometime between 6:00 and 6:45 AM the construction staff began working on the roof. Extremely loudly, shaking the room. I called the concierge who rudely stated "what do you want me to do about it" and then suggested she would call security. 2. Upon check in I talked to Nick. I asked what areas were dog friendly. He explicitly stated that the Wigwam Bar and Litchfields were dog friendly but wasn't sure about Red Allen. Fine- we went to Wigwam for dinner and had a nice time and made a reservation for Litchfields. This afternoon the waitress informed us at Wigwam, while bringing out our food that it is, in fact, not dog friendly. She was again rude about it and "didn't care what the front desk said" ruining our meal. I don't care about areas not being pet friendly or construction - but the rude staff is making getting information uncomfortable and difficult. We even tried to checkout early a day (here for work so have to stay a few days) as a result of the bad experience - and they won't let us without charging a fee. read more

What a wonderful experience and great food, too! Our group really enjoyed dinner, outside, by the large fire pit and the attentive server and food runner (who went above and beyond). I felt terrible asking for 3 different things after the food arrived (another fork because I dropped mine, more salad dressing, etc) and the food runner (his name was Jace) was exceptionally kind, and happy to fix anything that our group needed. First time here. Open seating inside or out in the large courtyard with turf in the middle area. Saturday night 6:05pm but we found a table quickly towards the outside of the turfed area. Misters were at work and we got some cool droplets from time to time. The service was quite spotty for us. The waiter didn't know much of anything about the tap beers, a no-no in these craft-beer times we live in. The amount of red wine in my wife's glass was maybe 4oz, and not cheap. The time delay to receive the appetizer was not appropriate, and we were patient people that night. The street tacos were fine except that the pulled pork was drier than it should be. We were brought the wrong salad, so a replacement was soon served. The 1/2# burger was properly done to order. It tasted fine, but there are better options than this for a $15 burger. If you go, try to get a table on the perimeter or inside if you see kids around and don't want to be distracted too much. The children of a table of what looked like the "Six Housewives of Litchfield Park" sitting there were pretty energetic and didn't mind being close to our table and doing kid things. Their mothers were safely away from the turf. The kids played pretty much unsupervised, but were only a medium distraction. There were a lot of well-to-do and upscale couples there and the prices of things sort of reflected that. The band started at 7pm and had decent talent. The bill was reduced by about $7 for some unknown reason. Perhaps they were cognizant of the service. The W Bar or Wigwam Bar is one of our favorite girls' day out spots. We've come here twice with a group of girls to catch up, enjoy good eats and just hang outside. It's a GREAT spot in the early Spring and late Fall when the weather is warm and breezy. We have yet to stay at the actual resort but every time we go, we always want to - the vibe is sooo Arizona. The service is great - they can really read the scene meaning when we are engaged in conversation, they seem to wait then pop in to take our order or check on our drinks at the right time! Although not pictured, the Wigwam wings are really good as is the Corn in a Jar! We noticed how family friendly it is too as many young families with young children were there enjoying the fire pits and outdoor scenery! There are some seats inside but we always opts for outside. Service wasn't nearly what I expected for such a decent restaurant. I sat down and ordered, the food came promptly and right as the salad hit the table... so did the bill? Can I not even try the food before being rushed to pay? ... also I had heard about the deserts so I wanted to try them. The food was delicious! The waitresses don't do the cooks any justice! ... of course the weather was hot so I asked to move inside to eat my ice cream... and again... ice cream came to the table and so did the bill? Also the staff was clearly annoyed that I came inside? Considering I was the ONLY PERSON THERE... I didn't think it would be a big deal?
