    Flounder, shrimp, hushpuppies

This is a pretty decent takeout spot if you are in the mood for cajun-like fried seafood with decent portions and taste for an acceptable price. You can order combos with various white fish like flounder, tilapia, etc along with shrimps, oyster, scallops, and some sides. I ordered the fried flounder, shrimp, and hush puppies. Something they nail pretty consistently here is the crispy texture. The batter is a light corn meal-like batter and never too greasy. The fish is generally pretty tender. The hushpuppies are crispy just like the shrimp and fish but in my opinion a bit too sweet for my liking. The only other issue is that sometimes the shrimp and fish pieces can be a bit thin or small. They come with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce and a free drink if you order aroudn lunch. Overall it's a convenient spot to get a quick, sizeable fried seafood platter.

This is one of my favorite places when I want fresh seafood in my area. Its run by a great family who mostly whos wife is at the front counter and shes very funny and always remembers you She knows i mostly come in on Friday night after doing some overtime somewhere. But back to the market its a small store with maybe a seating of 25-30 but most of the orders are takeout. They cook your food to order as you would expect and they change their fry very regular cause ive never had anything dark or that burnt taste to it. Prices are fair enough and they offer combo meals of fish, shrimp, or other seafood with fries or fried rice. Overall come to this market for some great tasting food and friendly owners who do care about their business

What a great way to get fresh seafood and Chinese food! All located under one roof. Situated on Walton Way, the market side reminds me of the neighborhood fish markets when I was a kid in the 80s. The lady at the counter greets you with a big smile and ready to take your order. Ive been here twice now, but have only had the fried large shrimp combo with fries. The shrimp both times cooked perfectly. Recommend to call order in around lunch hours because they get very busy, so you could have a long otherwise. Only one gripe need better parking, but no hinderance. I definitely recommend.

Augusta Fish Market & Restaurant is a hidden gem in Augusta, GA. I've been here twice and would keep coming back if I lived in this city. It doesn't look like much from the outside. I would probably move this review to a 4.5 if that was an option just because of the location. The parking at the front is for the handicapped, and there are 3 parallel parking spots on the side. It's also located in the middle of some busy roads and can be difficult to exit at certain times of the day. However, the food is excellent. It tastes fresh, and the portions leave you feeling too stuffed to move if you try to eat it all in one sitting. I am a fan of the croaker. Prices are very reasonable. If you come before 2pm, they'll throw in a water or tea with your lunch combo. The service is great. The cashier at the front is extremely friendly and tries to make conversation with you. Overall, if you like seafood, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Being a regular at Ming Wah, the owners were telling me they were opening a fish market up the street. I was uber excited, being that I love fish, and fried at that!!! So once they opened I had to experience this place. First let me say, the owners bend over backwards to accomodate your needs and explain anything that needs to be explained. Now to the food, can you say "good down home southern fried fish"!!!! I love fish that is fried in corn meal, it gives it more flavor to me, and the fixing are just as tasty. But they also sell chinese food as well. Being a new business they have their hand on the pulse of how a business should be ran! I see them being there for a long time to come!!!

Decided to give them a try for lunch, I had the shrimp and catfish fry combo with a sweet tea for about 10 bucks. I was not blown away by the fish it was just average at best, the shrimp are pretty good though and fry's were soggy. Maybe I ordered the wrong items but I will give it another in the future. They did have gator meat which I was curious about so I may try that next.

Sweet and sour combo plate(sauce on the side) love the hearty portions and it tasted great!

Had the sweet & sour combo plate with chicken wings and ham fried rice. It did not disappoint, everything was good. I will be returning for the seafood.

Sesame chicken with ham fried rice and 3 fried wings for $9.18. Just okay, too salty for me.

Large portion for a reasonable price. I tried the sesame chicken which came out to be a total of $9.18. The meal comes with ham fried rice or white rice and 3 fried wings or an eggroll. I got the ham fried rice which was just okay, the ham seemed like cubed spam meat, very salty. The sesame chicken had a lot of the fried starch on it so at times I wasn't even sure if I was eating chicken or just globs of fried starch. It isn't as sweet as Panda express and the flavor reminded me of ketchup. Probably wouldn't go back to try anything else. Everything there is fried basically except for one menu item so if you are looking for something healthy this isn't for you. It's basically a fast food Chinese restaurant, nothing outstanding that I could see. Parking is terrible, there are only two parking spaces in the front with two handicapped spots, and there are an additional three on the side by the dumpster but it's not well lit so it feels like you are parking in an alleyway.

Veggie lo mein combo with ham fried rice and wings instead of an egg roll.

There is plenty of parking. I'm not sure why it's called "at the river" bc I didn't see a river. There is inside and an outside enclosed area for seating when you enter from the parking lot. It is decorated like a casual bar and grill. My server was in training but friendly and worked alongside his trainer head server. For beverages, I ordered the oyster shooter and that Bloody Mary did not disappoint. I also had a Black Raspberry Margarita. This seems to be a thing in Augusta for Margaritas as well as this was the 2nd restaurant I went to and had this. The other place was better though. But let's talk about the food! The catfish was super tasty. They gave me fries although I didn't order them, and of course I still ate them. I had a side of baked potato salad. I should've asked why they're baked, but that was just okay. I had the TASTE OF BEAMIES- chicken & shrimp gumbo, black eyed pea jambalaya, shrimp and grits, my fav's in order were the chicken and shrimp gumbo, the shrimp and grits, then the black eyed pea jambalaya. I also ordered the 1/2 dozen Rockefeller oysters and they were amazing. The hush puppies that came with them were just okay. Overall, I enjoyed this meal.

I also asked for Horseradish and got a small cup, perhaps a teaspoon. Skimpy. In fact, I felt for what I paid was nowhere near worth the price. My wife even commented the portions were so small. The food reminded me of pub food. Funny. I told my wife I dont care for pub food,. Well..... Now the Key Lime Pie was great, and the waitress was very accommodating and nice. Great service. We sat in the enlosed porch, thinking it would be quieter. Nope. In fact, I had visions I was at a convention. My wife and I had much difficulty conversing. I guess we chose the wrong place to sit. And no, there weren't many patrons. It was an experience. Expected more. Doubt I would try again.

Now to the food, 10/10 I could not recommend them enough. I've had the honey lemon pepper wings and the loyalty platter. And it was so good. The honey lemon pepper wings were full of deep flavor and they give you at-least 10 wings with the plate. The steak and shrimp are the best seasoned meats I've ever had at a restaurant. I've also had a few nibbles of their seafood and ‍. Then when you're ready for dessert, don't worry you get samples too. The blue velvet is my favorite but all of them are award winning so you can't go wrong when it comes to Nattas sweet treats. Over all, great experience, great people, and great place. From the moment you see the brick building and walk inside, you get this warm, classic Georgia café vibe. It is cozy, welcoming, and full of character. It is the kind of place you want to slow down and enjoy. We came in for lunch and everything was outstanding. I had the Curious George, which is turkey topped with spinach dip and provolone cheese on sourdough bread. It was absolutely fantastic. Warm, savory, and perfectly balanced, it felt like true comfort food done right. It also came with a fresh side salad and great dressing that honestly could have been a meal on its own. My boys ordered the chicken quesadilla and nachos, and both were big wins. The quesadilla was crispy and cheesy. The nachos were fully loaded with seasoned beef, black beans, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, plus salsa and ranch on the side. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. Then came the desserts. We tried chocolate cake, carrot cake, and red velvet cake. We ordered half slices and they were still huge. Every single one was incredible. The red velvet and carrot cake were made with real cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake was rich and moist. The chocolate cake was deeply decadent. Pairing the carrot cake with a cup of their coffee was the perfect finish. The coffee was smooth and flavorful and exactly what you want with dessert. We were also lucky enough to be taken care of by Reagan, who was incredibly kind, beautifully stylish, and so helpful with my boys and me. She gave great recommendations on dishes and portion sizes. Her warmth and attention truly elevated the entire experience. Between the cozy atmosphere, outstanding food, unforgettable desserts, and exceptional service, Boll Weevil is now officially a must stop every time we are in Augusta. Come hungry.
