My Mom and Pop love this location. They treated me to dinner here the other night. It was a delicious and I had enough to enjoy for another couple of days. The fish is little unseasoned and the shrimp fried rice was delicious. We dined in. It is Asian-owned and reminds me for similar spots in Augusta and in Atlanta. This is a pretty decent takeout spot if you are in the mood for cajun-like fried seafood with decent portions and taste for an acceptable price. You can order combos with various white fish like flounder, tilapia, etc along with shrimps, oyster, scallops, and some sides. I ordered the fried flounder, shrimp, and hush puppies. Something they nail pretty consistently here is the crispy texture. The batter is a light corn meal-like batter and never too greasy. The fish is generally pretty tender. The hushpuppies are crispy just like the shrimp and fish but in my opinion a bit too sweet for my liking. The only other issue is that sometimes the shrimp and fish pieces can be a bit thin or small. They come with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce and a free drink if you order aroudn lunch. Overall it's a convenient spot to get a quick, sizeable fried seafood platter. read more

Its run by a great family who mostly whos wife is at the front counter and shes very funny and always remembers you She knows i mostly come in on Friday night after doing some overtime somewhere. But back to the market its a small store with maybe a seating of 25-30 but most of the orders are takeout. They cook your food to order as you would expect and they change their fry very regular cause ive never had anything dark or that burnt taste to it. Prices are fair enough and they offer combo meals of fish, shrimp, or other seafood with fries or fried rice. What a great way to get fresh seafood and Chinese food! All located under one roof. Situated on Walton Way, the market side reminds me of the neighborhood fish markets when I was a kid in the 80s. The lady at the counter greets you with a big smile and ready to take your order. Ive been here twice now, but have only had the fried large shrimp combo with fries. The shrimp both times cooked perfectly. Recommend to call order in around lunch hours because they get very busy, so you could have a long otherwise. Enjoy this place. Years of pleasure. The fresh fish and food has been a gem. The lady she is such a wonderful addition to the place. She makes the business without her this would not be the place to stop. The older man has a pretty crabby attitude and personality. His personality and customer service leaves alot to be desired. I have chosen elsewhere whenever I arrive and see the old man at the front with customer service. Glad that isn't often. Someone should tell him stay from doing customer service. Also, that it doesn't cost a dime to be kind. Lately, the fried rice has been too salty. Its hard to enjoy with soo much salt. Before, that it was fine. However, it hasn't been as enjoyable with this salt. Also, the fish is great while eating however, at the end of the day belching up the grease has become a regular. If have to reheat any fish later the same night the grease taste from the fish doesn't taste as fresh as it always had. If eaten, while hot and no fish is left which is often, then the only drawback is tasting the older grease taste afterwards during the evening and night. Not sure what it is about the grease but, please go back to whatever that was being done before which would be especially pre COVID changes. Fresh fish and rice would be five stars had it not changed with the grease and salt situation. Right now, the four stars is based on the good parts of this business which is the hot and fresh fish, the floors, bathroom, lobby, back and the outside all appear clean and kept. Also, the customer service the lady provides is the best. Warm and friendly. She is also helpful with knowledge of menu and choices. These areas are also what are the best parts which would qualify for five stars. By the way, I like this fish place as one of the better in the area right now. Many have had some changes whether to their staff and or to the fish and or sides. Mainly the fish. I would probably move this review to a 4.5 if that was an option just because of the location. The parking at the front is for the handicapped, and there are 3 parallel parking spots on the side. It's also located in the middle of some busy roads and can be difficult to exit at certain times of the day. However, the food is excellent. It tastes fresh, and the portions leave you feeling too stuffed to move if you try to eat it all in one sitting. I am a fan of the croaker. Prices are very reasonable. If you come before 2pm, they'll throw in a water or tea with your lunch combo. The service is great. The cashier at the front is extremely friendly and tries to make conversation with you. Large portion for a reasonable price. I tried the sesame chicken which came out to be a total of $9.18. The meal comes with ham fried rice or white rice and 3 fried wings or an eggroll. I got the ham fried rice which was just okay, the ham seemed like cubed spam meat, very salty. The sesame chicken had a lot of the fried starch on it so at times I wasn't even sure if I was eating chicken or just globs of fried starch. It isn't as sweet as Panda express and the flavor reminded me of ketchup. Probably wouldn't go back to try anything else. Everything there is fried basically except for one menu item so if you are looking for something healthy this isn't for you. It's basically a fast food Chinese restaurant, nothing outstanding that I could see. She said they had really good fried shrimp and I was surprised to see that they also had Chinese food. I got the vegetable lo mein and chicken wings combo. You can choose between an egg roll or 3 chicken wings which I like because I do not eat egg rolls. The amount of food you get was unbelievable. I'll be eating on it for at least 3 days. Fried fish is a little salty to me but it's fine to my friend, shrimp was very good though, crunchy and right cook. I haven't tried craw fish yet but I saw they have good price, 5.25/lb. None of Chinese dishes have vegetables according to owner so I ordered Chinese vegetable stir fry dish. I added $3 worth of shrimp. What I got was some sort of dish with beef chicken and shrimp. I think I got a 3 happiness dish. The soy sauce is brown water with corn syrup tastes like crap. The hot sauce is full of food coloring and preservatives. My fish sandwich was two pieces of white bread w a good size piece of croaker. Cant tell if fish is fresh or fresh frozen. Tastes frozen. Very similar set up to Huntington fish market in SW Augusta. Place is clean. Neighborhood is not ghetto but has its share of vagrants. If you like fried food this place is as good as it gets. read more

We stopped there on the way from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach. We purchased fresh tilapia which they cooked for us. We also purchased hot wings which we asked to be cooked well done. Don't ask for well done, OK! Regular would have been fine.We got a lot of food for the money. We had so much food that I had some for breakfast the next day.
