And if a friendly busy server doesn't see you wave them down .... And say Hey ...nicely. Today took a little longer to get food as I heard the my were low in staff ...no problem as long as you let us know. Love the specials during lunch. Always get the catfish or shrimp baskets. With slaw on the side and fries. Delicious. Fiend got the grilled talapia which also looked good and he ate it ALL , so must have been good! All washed down with southern tea! The food here is good! Especially the crawfish tails! The shrimp and fried oysters were good too. I came in hungry and left full. Somehow I managed to have left overs. It does get busy during dinner and when the weather is nice, grab a seat on the outside. read more

I was in town and had the Katfish plate for my dinner. The catfish was tender with a tasty flaky crust. Nicely seasoned and came with hot sauce and cocktail sauce. The sides were fries and a side salad. The fries were hot and nicely seasoned. The side salad I paired with a half of the steak dip sandwich for a steak salad for my lunch the next day. The steak dip is good too, I just ate mine as a steak salad rather than the sandwich. It comes with a dip like gravy or broth. I didn't try it but it looked and smelled good to me. The grits were meh to me. I could have did without them as they were topped with a lot of cheese but underneath it wasn't as seasoned and tasty as I prefer my grits. I give them a solid thumbs up for the catfish. Oh it comes as just one fillet in the plate which because it was good was a disappointment for a plate it should have been two filets. read more

Great stuff. Dive bar/restaurant. Went twice in my short trip to Augusta. Seafood done well and not too expensive. About broke my food on their concrete step near the bar. No paint, sign, nothing. Just a concrete block you won't see until it's too late. Food was terrific as mention, but their poorboy was not on the proper bread which was a big letdown. read more

My 1st time in Augusta Ga, and I was looking for shrimp and grits. I came upon this restaurant and decided to check it out. There's plenty parking, and when you walk up to the entrance, there is sign that lets you know you should seat yourself. When I walked in, there was a bar and people sitting there, so I walked to the back where I could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. There were plenty of tables with umbrellas and you could sit anywhere. On the tables were menus, condiments and paper towels. I sat there for a while and then the server came and took my order. She was pleasant and friendly and that helped with the meals that I ordered. For apps for what they call "serious snacks", I chose the fried crawfish tails, the bayou shrimp and grits cup. I also ordered the half dozen steamed oysters. From the Tuesday special menu, I ordered the Buffalo grilled shrimp and the Blackberry Jalapeño Margarita, with a side of dirty rice. The crawfish was small, but tasty. They were fried but not greasy. It was served with what seems like their signature sauce. What I went for? The shrimp and grits! Now that did not disappoint at all. I'm glad they had it in a small cup bc at least I got to sample more items on the menu without overwhelming myself. The shrimp was seasoned gracefully and the grits were creamy. I didn't even need butter, salt or sugar. I've never had steamed oysters and they were very good. They came with butter but I didn't like it on the oyster, so I ate it with the cocktail sauce and the horseradish and it was delicious. After having all of that I still wanted to try the buffalo grilled shrimp and dirty rice. I was overwhelmed bc my stomach was stuffed. I definitely thought I could handle them. Honestly, I didn't care for these last two items. The dirty rice was a bit hard and the shrimp was to salty and made it hard for me to eat them continuously. But the other stuff, delicious. Even the cocktails. It was so good, I had two. I would definitely go back to try other items on their menu. read more

This is one of those local places that doesn't get the best of reviews, but it's still busy on a Monday night if that tells you anything. It's very divey with writing on the walls, benches, everything. I ordered a burger and the spicy boiled shrimp since the shrimp seemed to be very large and popular here. The burger is hand-pattied and 1/2 lb, and the fries are hand cut...both of which are very unique for a seafood restaurant, especially a divey one. My Louisiana-born colleague ordered the jambalaya and fried shrimp plate. He couldn't even eat 2 bites of the jambalaya because of the use of sage and tomatoes, which are apparently a no-no in that dish. He gave the dish back to the server and she said she'd take it off his bill but never did. He said the fried oyster platter was just okay. Burger - this would have been a decent burger, except for the fact it was well done, not seared but burnt on the top and bottom, with 0 condiments. The fresh-cut fries were maybe the best part. Shrimp - these were good and really large. I see why these are one of the most popular menu items. Upon leaving I looked at everyone's table and sure enough nearly every table had a plate of the spicy boiled shrimp on it. read more

Food & waitress were great. Problem was, they were working on the sound system. We were sitting outside, side by side, sound was blaring so loud we could not even have a conversation. Manager appeared briefly, from the door,and said "sorry about the volume, should only be a few minutes". 35 minutes later, they finally reduced the volume. By then, lunch was ruined, headache had set in. Never an actual apology from Manager or offer of any compensation for such a disruptive, very disappointed lunch. read more

We popped in to break up the drive and to meet family for lunch. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and got our order taken promptly. The table was partly shaded, so it helped kept things cool while we were there. I went for the steak dip. The sliced beef was sliced and tendered topped with cheese served with au jus sauce. There were plenty of fries that came with it as well. It was good and I couldn't finish it all because there was so much food. We have had the pleasure of eating here a few times when we were passing through Augusta. Our friends took us and we just have to keep coming back! I love shrimp and these are the best ever, and the prices are great. Don't let the rough exterior scare you away. It's a very CASUAL atmosphere. We sat outside on the picnic tables today, and it really was perfect. We were warmly greeted, got to pick our table under an umbrella, and had a quick, friendly server.
